I am Filipino based in the US East Coast. A 2 bedroom apartment NOT in the city center is around $2,500 (Php 135,000). A studio apt is around $1500 (Php 80,000). Of course moving around the city is easy with the subway so transportation is cheap. That said, BGC is still cheaper. The best job is outsourcing work but based in the Philippines. Digital work - earn USD but spend in Php.

If you have a stable, permanent and high paying WFH job, it is worth to consider moving to SE Asia like the Philippines where expats can afford luxury condos located in premium areas and living expenses are cheaper (given the currency exchange rate) than living in the US.

Just by thinking you are living in BGC, the budget seems accurate. It's not cheap but if you are earning USD it's definitely bang for the buck! BGC has been tremendously developing over the years, it's not congested and you can move around just by walking. I always look forward visiting there once in a while 😊

Though I think you have not included power, water, phone and internet costs yet in the rent, do you? Then there are costs for insurances, HMO etc. you have not included so far, right? All those things you stated in your vlog about living expenses here in the Philippines in my opinion, in on the high end of expensive living in BGC, but then again BGC is an expensive community. But there are other cities that can offer the same comfort and security for a lot less expense, just saying.... your vlogs are very informative, i will watch them again.

What are you talking about, bruh? Only BGC and maybe Ayala Makati have that luxurious vibe or lifestyle here in the Philippines. You can't find so many pedestrian-friendly communities around the country as BGC, especially with plenty of shops, security, amenities, and millionaires living in one place. You can't see that many luxurious cars except in BGC. The place alone has fcking 5 malls.

@@TheSavvyExpat You still have to deal with the ignorance drivers, motorcycles, pedestrians walking in front of your car, trash everywhere, uneducated people who cannot give you proper directions, restaurant food is garbage, late at night stray dogs come out and fight, homeless people to include babies begging for money, infrastructure is Stone Age, constant power outages, went to the emergency room waited 3.5 hours before anyone saw me, most medical care personnel are on their cell phones, inexperience people who do nothing right, so the USA is the best country in the world, after experiencing the Philippines I decided to go home in 2023 and never return.
