Absolutely great seeing these artist paying tribute to the late great David Bowie. He was a phenomenal artist singer song writer performer. He was under appreciated under recognized and under acknowledged. He had vision and bravely went to places others were scared to even consider. He broke the ground that allowed others to venture down the road he paved. With out him some of the glitz and showmanship that had become standard would not exist. The make up the costumes and conceptualization that bonded ides of people places or things with music was forged by David . He was really quite humble in what he did and did not do. The things that mattered were the music the show and the fans. In his passing we all lost a true artist and visionary that did not recognize boundaries or boarders when it came to music. His life's work , the ememsise catalogue of music songs his work in and on films soundtracks and the lives he touched and times he help define are a credit to him his drive and what he saw as possibilities. He touched people and the lives they lead. And in the end probably the greatest testimony we could ever give him is to say that music, that people , and really the world itself are better off having had the opportunity to meet explore and enjoy what David had to offer. The world would have been a different place had not that voice not soared!
....and...he put an EXCELLENT SPOTLIGHT on the EXCELLENT people he worked with...giving MANY of them their 1st BIG BREAKS...i can mention so many...however the ones that are nearest and dearest to ME....are....dancer choreographer...singer...director.....TONI BASIL....guitarist....writer arranger....musical director CARLOS ALOMAR...and i suspect in BOWIE'S OWN OPINION....his GREATEST DISCOVERY...the ICONIC....SINGER...WRITER....PRODUCER....LUTHER VANDROSS.....
I always considered Bowie as a great songwriter and preformer but a quite technically limited singer. After listening to those supposedly great performances, I revised my judgement. Bowie had it all !
The last two were amazing unlike the others because they were actually fatefull to the source material. The first five made the songs more pop-sounding and instead of trying to sing the actually impressive parts of the song, they just added their own things and tried to flex thejr voice. So upset that nobody made their voice high pitched on life on mars at the part bowie says "freakiest show"/"best-selling show". Also nobody except the last one made the line "is there life on mars?" powerfull. The first ones just did a low voice
DAVID BOWIE FOI UM GRANDE TALENTO E QUE NOS DEIXOU SUCESSOS ENORMES PARA QUE PUDÉSSEMOS ESCUTAR QUANTAS VEZES QUISÉSSEMOS. ESTES JOVENS ESTÃO INTERPRETANDO ESTAS MÚSICAS QUE SÃO IMORTAIS E PENSO QUE ESTE MOVIMENTO DA JUVENTUDE (ALGUNS) QUE NEM O CONHECERAM ESTAREM CANTANDO SUAS MÚSICAS QUE SÃO CANÇÃO DE GRANDE QUALIDADE. QUEM AS APRESENTAR TERÃO DE TER MUITO TALENTO E A RESPONSABILIDADE DE O PRESTIGIAR A ALTURA.
I implore people like this to actually venture into his discography and stop covering the same three songs over and over. They'll find out much greater tunes, that aren't even deep cuts. Oh, and actually have some fun singing his songs, they don't always have to be somber, solemn covers. How can you make Starman boring?! It's about an alien coming to save us!
Forgive me, but too often, it’s a circus of voices quivering with vibrato, dripping with counterfeit emotions, turning exquisite compositions into bloated balloons. These pieces-sculpted with the precision of a surgeon slicing silence-are devoured by the beast of exaggeration, left howling in a pit of theatrical contortions. It’s a poodle parade, mascara running, ribbons choking. A spectacle of nothingness, spinning glitter and foam, selling fake jewels to blind crowds. This isn’t art-it’s a merry-go-round of empty laughter, a sugar rush for the soul that crashes before it even begins to rise. The first of this vid was the exeption, very good and personal version...
I totally agree, plus I can't fathom the enthusiasm of these judges, indeed, yes, they need to emotionally engage the audience in the theater and the one at home. These contestants aren't anything special and their performance is just sufficient.
The first video which i dislike... the last one was really good, but the rest was clearly not "nice to hear"... but thanks to the comments it seems thats it is just my taste so hopefully they make their way.
I apologize for my opinion, but the song, especially known by the older generation, has many connections to that time and the song itself. For me, those covering it are just voices without truly understanding what it's about.
4:24 Very very bad... It feels like the judge was gutted after the first push, so seeing the other two turning their chair is beyond understanding for me. Overall, whether because of the instrumentation or the performances, it was very bad. And they are the best ones ? I am not impressed.. 😤
These singing 'adventures' are tedious and mind numbing! An aweful display of adaptation. Some of it doesn't even sound sung in english. Terrible where music is heading
Which performance is your favorite? 👇
This is Chile's best season ever!!!

Any singer attempting to cover a David Bowie tune is going to soon find out how great he was. Even if… they thought he was already great.
All were fantastic! For me, though, the first, Major Tom, actually brought a tear to my eye...so, mournfully beautiful.
Actualy, her woice reminds me of Birdy.
Wonderful! I love Bowie. That’s amazing!

Well said. Totally agree with everything you wrote
Totally agree. I also love the fact that he used his upcoming death to create wonderful art with his last album.

Bowie was a genius
I love that starman audition i hope they make a Spotify recording of it.
Life on Mars is a beautiful song. It makes me cry.
I just fell in love with the guy who sang "Heroes" 😅😮😍
Só musicão e grandes artistas!
Starman na versão de Brendan ficou maravilhosa!
As demais versões também,olokooooo!!!!
Assistindo em looping 😮!!!
I always considered Bowie as a great songwriter and preformer but a quite technically limited singer. After listening to those supposedly great performances, I revised my judgement. Bowie had it all !
Of course he did
Nobody can match the great David... None of these, at least. Maybe the first girl with Space Oddity is better than the others.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard him sing off key
Life on Mars💙
All is mine favorite 😍
The last guy is really good !
The guy with the glasses that sang starman and the very last guy were exceptional
Lucy was the best, absolutely beautiful

The last guy who did the Life on Mars was good
I liked Starman over all. I save the last version of Life on Mars, the other two versions I didn’t find it very good
Phenomenal David Bowie blind auditions on the the voice

Un cantante de estos que no es nadie no puede modificar una canción de Bowie

I would have preferred a more elaborate and arty comment.
The last guy is brilliant then Lucy Rosalie and Heather
Would be better if one of them sang Uncle Arthur
They would, but they're all following mother.
Elle chante cool

So I can sing I can bring it
That mr McChey K I L L E D it
🧌space oddity is always a killer
Only one dod any of bowies songs justice, number 1, she got the bowie vibe, others in sorry were just imitations
Me parece una falta de respeto que no estén las versiones de Alhy y de Gjon Tears de Life on Mars
That Russian fellow was sensational!
Achei essa versão de heros totalmente Raul seixas

Well maybe you are rigth. But anyway, it's a treasure to listen nowadays played by young people.
How tf did they took so long to turn on that last guy?
No one taking on the Hard Ones
I'd like to see someone try Sweet Thing (Candidate) Sweet Thing reprise..
@deedee-tc4fh They'd make them a deal if they could do that.
Brendan did a good Starman
That was agony.
isn't easy to sing David Bowie
1 2 et 4

That’s just cheating, Bowie songs are just too good
She is Dolores?
Yes
Funny how the two men went first while the two women waited...
che orrore !
what is seal and boy george doing there
that's all about hype... no real mature artistry
Bien dicho

Fake show obviously but great singers

All Interpedations 3rd Class, so so Bad......
TH-cam lietuvos balsas 2021 andrzej stankiewicz 👍
I have seen better at Karaoke than some of these.. First and last were good..
Unsubstancial irrelevant covers for the sole purpose of mass idiocracy self esteem
number 6 was the only one with a decent thick voice, the rest just tuneful but very weak
Pesima.version de starman

You can’t even spell awful so we can’t take you seriously.
So when do you get on and show them what nerves of steel means.
All terrible....don't try to cover Bowie please.....
