I have an interesting, nifty little tip regarding zeppelins/helium pumps. I learned this from watching a recent Gmodism steampunk tourney- it turns out, triangle corners block helium from leaking as though they're full blocks. So using say 4m wood triangle corners, you can get the cheapest possible internal compartmentalization. If one is breached, the helium in the others won't leak out through the 4m triangles, even though it looks like it definitely should. This info is only a couple months old, so should be current unless it's been changed in the most recent update, Zeppelins can also provide a rather stable airborne platform much like helicopters when not in motion, making them (currently) better than planes for mounting airborne APS (I've heard that plane wings now add drag proportional to their lift, also nerfing planes along with stability), on a resource to resource comparison. Love the bit with the sails; 'free' movement is absolutely great starting out, and a zeppelin like that ranks among the cheapest cargo haulers. :) Can't forget infastructure for a campaign, after all. :D
When ever I hear combar airship, I hear Kirov report! As a sidenote: the first vehicle I tried to buold in FtD was a Kirov. I tried to control altitude with helium pump strength. It didn't work so well.
Had you tried making your zeppelin big? The thing about airships that use gases for lift is that the buoyancy and thus lift force scales with size. The drawbacks areobviously cost and volume size.
@@leadontaste7261 dediblades are dead in alpha. Could use the new propellers, but that's not really what this build was about. He did a dediblade airship tutorial a few months ago.
I like to build my blimps helium chamber to be made out of alloy plates instead of block, very cheap, very light and get very high Only problem is Makin the nose look pretty, and make the replica michelan lookin zeppelin look more like the real deal
To my knowledge the difference between zeppelins and blimps are zeppelins are armored where as blimps aren't. Zeppelins weren't commonly used after ww1.
I do the "box with stuff inside" style building as well, esp on my things with big guns. It's easier to shape around things rather than have a shape and try to fit in what you need. I use the circle ai for whatever I can and have an acb setup to have it change sides when it gets below a certain health. Circle ai also allows for easy evasion setup.
You should totally make a zeppelin to rival the singularity and the really big thing the ss have I've forgotten the name of at current 😂. First few attempts may go down like a led zeppelin though
Oh also: anything you build in FtD will be a zeppelin, not a blimp. The Difference is that a Zeppelin has a rigid frame, while a blimp is just a Balloon. So no need to worry about the difference since true blimps are a biiit of an impossibility in FtD unless they are hung below a gigantic mass of hot air balloons.
This just makes me want hydrogen filling and incendiary ammo (Seriously why is incendiary ammo not a thing yet? An ammo type with bonus damage to ammo racks, but lowsy stats otherwise)
@@BorderWise12 Railgun Tetris maybe because it can differ a significant amount, and the things can be kinda op (cough fifth season). I'm just starting FtD and I'm looking at railguns for a weapon to specialize in or at the very least know how to use :)

@@BorderWise12 no using air/gas pumps to keep it floating at a level depth, I know it should be possible since you can assing stuff like pitch and altitude controls to pumps

i make mine from light alloys
This gave me an idea of a cram ship being carried by two zeplins. 👍

You should use dediblades
Helium mix optimal.

i now want to see a zeppelin only campaign series now.

Well, I guess 2 metres of wood counts as armored. XD
Zeppelins have a rigid skeleton, blimps don't. Anything that flies due to helium pumps in FtD would be a zeppelin.
Zeppelins, AKA "Rigid Air Ships", are "rigid" whereas blimps are soft. Neither are armoured in any capacity.
I had just wanted to figure these out lol, perfect timing!
This is going to come in super handy for my replica of Flying Battleship Khabarovsk from an arcade game called Strikers 1945

Awesome video. Thanks, that was fun to watch
Red lips from too much CRAMberry sauce. Dangit, BorderWise!
I spend half an hour, 45 minutes looking up airships
This is the first proc when i cycle to what's next
Oh glorious Zeppelin
What a coincidence lol. I just made my first helium craft and then this video comes out lmao
Maybe reasonable as a logistics ship for moving supplies around
FLDATY things, how fun (I miss-read the o)

i used light alloy segments to make my zeppelin, however internally to separate them I've used light alloy plates.
You gotta fit one of these zeps with AA CRAMS for the CRAM-Paign you're planming. Probably a good way to get a starter ship for those pesky DWG planes

Nice
The first zeppelin looks remarkably like a swordfish
I know, right? I love it! :D

I think perhaps we should give it a name, perhaps the “Spy Salmon”, but other name would probably be better lol
It should change broadside after each shot
Zeppelins Yay
Can you make True STEALTH blimp, out of Rubber?
Hello! Can we have a tetris tutorial next?
What kind of tetris? I've done a few already for both APS and CRAM.

I think they're only in alpha branch right now. Not a mod.
Can u tel me how to make vanila
