      i believe someone told me that you could use the 19 and up with the 15-18 functionally, but if i remember right, i think i tried bolting one on mine, and if i remember correctly, it was dimensionally different and wouldn't fit. now mine is a '10 that's been modified, not stock, so it's possible that they are a direct swap between the 18 and 19, but i don't have that direct experience.

    Thanks for the video. I've seen reference to the GS911 so many times, but this is the first time I actually see how it works and what menus and functions are available. I'm having some weird issues with my HP4 QS, mine works, but sometimes the power "cut" stays on for 2-3 seconds after the shift has completed. So I'll have the throttle pinned and I'll pull the shifter, CLACK into the next gear, but the power doesn't come back on 2-3 seconds. I'm thinking the loadcell might be sticking internally? And just recently, my traction control light has started slow-blinking intermittently and when it does, the throttle becomes very weird, jerky and unstable, and as soon as the light goes away the bike smooths out. Very strange, as the TC is not actually engaging, it's going into some sort of limp mode. I really need to get a GS911 and start poking around.

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets

    Good day.
    New update. I kept the black thingy under the clutch lever now its works perfectly. Still its hot wired though.
    But now here comes another challenge.
    Now the bike is not starting in first gear, when I am engaging the clutch. Before was fine. Is it some thing to do with the switches?

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets
      @NoLimitsNoRegrets  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's good you have it working, but yes, to your last question. think about it this way, you hotwired both switches with the clamp to think the clutch lever is all the way out, right? the problem is you can only start the bike in gear if it thinks the clutch is in to keep from lunging. since you've tricked the bike to think the clutch is always out, it won't start in gear. you will need to go remove your clamp/hotwire trick and adjust the bike to work properly as designed.

    Hi, first nice video, I recently changed the micro switch on my 2017 S1KRR since the QS is not working but the cruise control work fine. The issue is that when I’m driving the QS don’t grab any single gear unless the throttle is partially twist (basically nothing just like 1/2 inch from Idle). It feels more like I’m doing a synchronized shifting(rev shifting I think they called on bikes) rather than QS doing the work. It doesn’t work to down nor to up shifting at any RPM just how I described above.
    So changed the micro switch but still have the same issue, I do not own a GS911 (for now, but look like is an OBD2 for car totally necessary for DIY), do I need to do the reset of the throttle and transmission mandatory at this point? And do the GS911 works with apple computer? This last question I’ll dig in a little bit more obviously hehe
    Thanks in advance

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets
      @NoLimitsNoRegrets  หลายเดือนก่อน

      it's wise to reset the throttle and tran just to eliminate those 'easy' items. even if they're both okay, at least you know those aren't the culprit as you try to troubleshoot. '17 should be the new red gs911, not the old yellow one. i've never owned an apple anything, so guess just read the gs911 info to make sure. i think they make a wired and wireless version now.

      at 13:03 i'm talking about clutch cable adjustment, so not sure what cylinder you're referencing. could you be more specific? i doubt i'll have part numbers for any of this though. easiest thing is go to maxbmw and look at exploded part diagrams and find it in there. that's what i do every time :)

    I own a 2011 model bmw s1000rr. quickshifter that worked before is no longer working. I ordered the original quick shifter, but although I visited 3 repair shops, the source of the problem could not be found. The micro switch has just been changed. ugh, i cover everything i can possibly think of in the video. clutch cable adjustment, mircoswitch, QS reset, software, QS device, and the only other thing i can thing of you didn't mention is the potentiometer that measures the gear position as stated in the video. Every idea i have is in the video. only thing you didn't mention in my list was the clutch cable and potentiometer? there is also the position/angles of everything at the rearset. if you adjusted that or installed new rearsets, those might affect operation?

    My 2017 s1000rr has the bracket turned so the microswitch is always pressed. Right now the issue I’m having is at lower rpm’s the quickshifter either works or doesn’t at all. When I give it harder throttle and the rpms climb it works perfectly. But down low just cruising around town it doesn’t want to work at all then all of a sudden will. Worked perfectly before no matter the rpm etc. now all of a sudden I’m having this problem.
    By chance have any idea what it could be? Thank you

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets
      @NoLimitsNoRegrets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@austin17qb24 my understanding of how it works is that's correct. The upshifter, even on the old '10 setup for me, was intended to be used under aggressive throttle. i wasn't sure if the '17-18's were the same way, but sounds like they are. What you described is how i would assume it would work based on what i've seen before. as long as it works under harder throttle, that's the point of it.

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets
      @NoLimitsNoRegrets  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@austin17qb24 that makes less sense. only thing i can think of is somehow your revs happe to match by luck. sometimes motorcycles can be kicked up a gear w/o clutching even w/o quickshift devices, just depends on a bunch of factors.

    What would you recommend in that particular case ?

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets
      @NoLimitsNoRegrets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      based on what i was told in my research, if that happened, it was a failure with the quickshifter device itself. If it were me, i would start by replacing that. there was some discussion about older software versions in them being more subject to this, so having a newer version might be safer, such as the alpha i used vs. the stock one if an older version. This is just my guess of course, as you can see there's a lot of complexity and things that can go wrong, but that would be where i'd start.

    Hello, so i have this problem with my bmw s 1000 rr 2013 it all started when i was riding and went to drive through and while i was ordering in the drive through i guess the quick shifter stopped working. when i left the drive through it didnt work. there is no codes saying theres a problem with it but i did have a code with the transmission sensor. the quick shifter is never working at any time and on the clutch switch there is only one pin that i believe is for the clutch and not the quickshifter which clicks in fine. im cosidering to use a multimeter to check for reading on the quick shifter but got no idea how but before doing it im wondering if you know that its for sure the quick shifter or some other input that could be usefull

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets
      @NoLimitsNoRegrets  ปีที่แล้ว

      if i understand correctly, your '13 only has the upshift, not the down shift blipper. the transmission sensor would very likely cause the upshifter to stop working. that needs to be replaced and the tran reset through the computer and a gs911 before the quickshifter will work properly.

    • @mathiaspedersen6070

      So after changing the potentiometer the issue stopped coming back, now the issue is like on and off. So basically if I’m in 3 gear and I down shift by rev matching to first and try to quick shift up it doesn’t work but if I then pull the clutch and go to second gear it works all the way up. Sometimes the quick shifter resosponds late. I can perhaps get a video of it to show you but perhaps you know this issue. I had a code come like last time but this time it isn’t there all the time but only came 4 times

    • @NoLimitsNoRegrets
