Pentameron i love your channel
@@CameronGuarino Thanks!
First time I've ever heard these musicians and I was wowed both by Jon Batiste and those fabulous women, especially on base and guitar. What a great antidote for dark times. Thank you, NPR.
I love the way Negah looks so happy through the whole set. She looks like she's truly enjoying herself.
It's the Brazilian soul
It's crazy how NPR knew exactly what I needed at 2:30am on a Sunday...
It's actually 2:30am on a Monday...
That's class it came out at 11:30am where I am
✨✨✨
@@rgr010 time has no meaning anymore...

I always loved Jon on The Late Show. Now I love him even more. His passion is infectious. His talent is limitless. Also, huge fan of this band! Wow!
You know the music is real and speaks to you when you cry tears of joy while listening to it.
The guitarist behind Jon has a top tier stank face. Respect
YESSS. Came here for this.
Yasssss!😂😂😂❤️
Factual af.
I believe that is Ms. Celisse Henderson. She a bad lady.. and I know her sister.. but I wish I knew her :)
Celise!!..part if the extended Phish family
Got to see her twice in Ghosts of the Forest
Thanks to the Pixar movie “Soul”, I found a true musical genius, Jon Batiste. Wow
I've been playing music a long time and this guy is just an absolute genius and absolutely appears to be himself all the time, it's amazing
Really? He is on tv almost every night. He has been the band director for Stephen Colbert on the late show for like 6 years.
Hi stephen, yes i’m only in my 20’s and I wasn’t really watching Stephen Colbert’s show compared to the other late night shows that I am fully aware of.
I watched Soul - I thought it was him! What role did his music play in the movie? I can’t quite place it...
@@antoniagwenyth9566 he did all the music. He was in charge of the soundtrack
I think this may be my favourite online performance of Jon Batiste's. Amazing
When i feel good i put this on and dance for 16.42 minutes straight
When i feel bad i put this on and dance for 16.42 minutes straight
Thank you Jon and band for this wonderful gem.
The best musical experience i've had for 27 years.
I love it when the musicians are visibly impressed with the skill of the others, and that expression on the guitar player's face when Batiste fiddles the keys for the intro to Tell The Truth is just priceless!
You meant the intro to I Need You, but that's fine 🙂
There are tears in my eyes and my heart is full. This man is a bright light in what seems like a very dark world. Thank you a million times.
I love how he introduced each band member, really giving them each a moment of recognition. That's a cool, classy style choice too with all black as a backdrop drawing attention to each beautiful instrument. Oh and obviously this performance was fantastic!
best moment ever
What are FULL names of these women? Loved every second of this.
@@karenwhite5732 They are in the NPR description which is awesome!!!
Jon’s warm up licks should win a Grammy! He’s the most amazing band leader, pianist on the planet!
I need YOU, Jon Batiste, to keep singing!!!! GRATEFUL for you!
I can see Celisse's feeling and enjoyment in her facial expressions. Especially at @12:28 watching Jon play the piano. It might have been my favorite part of the video.
She’s got the best seat in the house, and that look says she appreciates it.
possibly for the first time in an NPR Tiny Desk Concert comment: that was a killer bongo solo.
The opening track, so relevant today... thank you for your songs and for sounding your voice in the world, John
This might be my favorite tiny desk concert of all time.
Absolutely loving this all woman band!!! Y’all killed it!!!
I love this man. I love everything he's about. He makes my feet smile. He makes the hairs on my arm give his vibe a standing applause.
I love "he makes my feet smile"!! That tells it all!
I hear you... I have smiling feet and giggling toes😉
His outfit has such nice back when he sits on the piano haha - wow such happy vibes
He's literally 'tickling the ivories' in I Need You. Blown away by his commentary throughout.
I'm telling the truth and nothing else than the truth: these musicians are sooo good and the music make my body joyful and feeling a strong hope into the future....
His music feels so good, but I've been crushing on him so long lol 💗💗
😂😂 I love it. Tiny Desk you've just exposed me to another artist. I love the on off beat and lyrics. It's mighty fine to see the ladies doing their thang. 💕🙏🏽✌🏽
I'm just discovering Jon Batiste and I've only listened to the first 2 songs so far but what a huge talent he has! Switching from a soulful song to a catchy bluegrass/rock'n'roll song so easily, just wow...
jesus this man got soul
no, the whole band does
@@prodsej You mean: Yes, the whole band does ;)
He looks like one of those Disney character that literally breaths music
he does look kind of magical, like he’s too good to be true
Like when Andre 3K had a cartoon?
Yes!
Roux Quier he really does 😂😂😂😂
It's "breathes" music; "breaths" are what you take when you breathe.
Oh Jon you are so beautiful and talented. Thank you for existing.
Pardon my lateness but I just discovered Jon Batiste and this awesome all female band , eat your heart out Robert Palmer
Jon Batiste is a HERO. One of the finest musical minds to come to the forefront in ages. He is just lighting up and he is going to burn bright on the scene for a long long time people! YES YES YES.
Next Al Green. Talent.
Jon is genius and genuine. Love his girl band. Wish i could attended Montreaux this year. More from Jon please!!!
