    This set comes with 5 bands of varying resistance, a storage bag, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y a small pamphlet with some sample exercises, and an access code for an online workout video. I haven't viewed the online video, so I cannot speak to the quality of that piece of the set. However, everything else is perfect for what I was looking for. The bands are durable, and the resistance strength varies enough between bands that they're each useful for different exercises and provide a great challenge as you gradually increase the resistance level for certain exercises. The only band I don't use very often is the lowest resistance band, but even that is nice for exercises that target weaker/seldom used muscle groups.

    After I became a dad I got no sleep and no time to go to the gym so I started home workouts with bands after watching your channel. Now I only use bands, bodyweight and a single kettlebell for all my workouts and I do them all at home. Haven't renewed the gym membership. Bands are more than enough actually. I use the kettlebell for some full body variations. Thanks for all this amazing content James!

    Found this guy randomly after searching for resistance band workouts. haven't been goin to the gym because of closures due to COVID and thought I might try these. picked up some bands for cheap online and they've been really great. so surprised at how intense a workout you can get just at home and with minimal equipment. This is an absolute game changer. Also because these vids were filmed pre-covid it just further confirms the bands for me and that he's not just trying to sell something because gyms are closed. Love these vids man keep it up.

    Thank you so much for these videos James, there is something very sincere with what you are doing and the information and guidance you give. I enjoy watching these videos and they have both helped and inspired me. I have seen bands around for a while now but always associated them with something like yoga and pink leotards... Bought myself some bands, gave it a go after watching your videos and holey weapons of mass destruction, did I get that wrong.. More than anything I love the versatility and the freedom it offers.. I'm 49 years of age and usually train at home with weights but it's limiting as I also love to be outdoors and away from home.
    So again a huge thank you and regards from England.. Keep up the good work, I think you are helping a lot of people. Pure quality...

    I have been getting into band workouts as an alternative to weights because I have herniated & bulging discs in both my neck and lower back as a result of my military service and one thing my old workouts had in common, is that after one day of exercise, I needed 2-5 days of recovery, sometimes as much as two weeks. Recovery wasn't even for the exercise but for the resultant debilitating pain from my injuries. This was particularly true for my neck. Just as Randy mentioned, doing bench would numb out my arms and hands, all the way to my fingers. I have these bands and while the workouts are still challenging, I do not have the same associative pains afterwards. My recovery is what it used to be with just weights. That said I am still only working this in slowly preferring to do 3 days a week with bands and 3 days a week for cardio (which is fun with the herniated discs and my busted knees, let me tell ya). My only regret is that when I bought the bands I got the free 90 days of program access through the website which I activated just before I suffered my last setback in the gym. That one lasted 2 months. These TH-cam videos are a big help though.

    Great stuff! Sounds lame but you can even do banded push-ups using a countertop. I can bench 315x5 at 50 and workout rarely. Even so, It’s a challenge to do 2 strong resistance bands and leaning at an angle. I enjoy it a lot more than being on the floor. Key is to twist the band once before looping through hand. Thanks I’ve got your orange bands kit and enjoy your workouts!

    Hi James
    Started out my experimentation with resistance bands a year ago on a vacation and no access to gyms. Realized the potential then
    After the advent of Coronavirus and subsequent lockdown came across your exercise videos and have to say it’s opened up a whole new dimension in my exercise routine.The legs and bi/tri routines are great. Muscles sore in a good way. Can even say the shoulder exercise routine is getting my shoulders’ stronger for sure.Can see a marked improvement in my weaker left shoulder.
    Request you to develop a targeted back routine and an ab routine to complete the whole body workout split
    Thanks a lot and kept the videos coming
    Cheers

    • @hardinmichael1981
      @hardinmichael1981 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How’s it been going? You can find a lot of great door pull-up bars on line for not too much money. A solution I found for dips is to combine a door pull-up bar and a ring set like one from “Sierra Exercise Equipment”. Their isometric strap and hook handles are how I work on dips now. They’re even harder than a dip station because you’re using straps and not a metal bar frame. Actually the hook door anchor from Sierra Exercise Equipment is the best band anchor I’ve ever found. It makes changing bands super fast and easy to use.

    Bands are great, no doubt. But monitoring and ensuring progressive overload is tricky and there is a lot of scope to hold the bands in slightly different positions and lengths. With free weights you know where you are in this respect and progression is easier to monitor.

      Stand in the loop(s), bring the top of the loop up and over your head so that the top of the loop is behind your neck and in front of your shoulders. Do some calf- raises. Also helps if you have some stairs or a ledge that your heel can hang off of to increase the range of motion. Make sure you get that peak contraction and time under tension as always. Hope this makes sense.

(I'm not talking about your brand, just bands in general) as one of my reds has snapped, and my thinner orange is showing signs of damage and slight splitting at the edge, so am wondering if this is to be expected or of its bad quality bands. I had them from a reputable dealer and look after them generally well. Thanks for any info. Speedy

      I worry about this too as I've read reports of people being seriously injured by higher resistance bands snapping and blinding eyes or causing bad damage. One guy had a band snap against his hand and it basically broke all the bones and he had permanent nerve damage. I bought some protective glasses and wear gloves when using them now - I might look dumb, but I'm home alone during the shutdowns so I don't really care lol. Hillarious stories about your training partner. I remember when I learned English she I was 17 with my American gf's family (15 years ago), I used to think that dingleberry was part of a Christmas song.

    Any tips for a good resistance band set after a long layoff due to injury and health issues that I could do at home without any solid anchor point. I have a set of 10 to 35 Pounds 1/2", 40 to 80 Pounds 1.25" and 50 to 125 Pounds 1.75" bands at home. One of the injury issues was a wrist fracture so push-ups are out.

    Do you have difficulty incorporating progressive resistance? It would seem like it would be difficult to measure resistance.since something as.simple and variable as where you hold the band greatly determines the amount of resistance. It seems like itd be difficult to accurately track resistance and measure progress

    • @DmdMixZ
      @DmdMixZ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just gotta start to feel it.
      If it burns it grows :D Kinda like that.
      Tracking progress is hard indeed but doable, just not in those fine increments.
      For example you can start with a light band, then go to the next and the next and the next until you're doing it with the hardest you have at hand.
      After that you can start doubling up on bands or loop them twice etc.
      So you always know when you outtrained one band. That's the progress you can track.
      Other than that it's just a thing of look and feel
