Eltharion has a lot of cool, useful stuff, it’s just not enough to justify his price tag. CA should either buff his stats to be more of a beast or cut his price so we can justify him more because right now 3k gold ain’t worth it.

Eltharion's a bit of a weird character. It's nice that he has lots of options, but the problem is there's always another lord who can do that better. Character/unit sniping? He can do that, but Turion is THE High elf duelist, and Alith Anar is much cheaper. All round flying bruiser with terror bombs? Few lords in the game are better than Imrik. Casting lord? He's competing with Teclis and Alarielle for that spot. Part of the thing is that most lords in multiplayer are picked/kitted out for a very specific purpose, and that's not really what Eltharion brings to the table. As others have pointed out, if they just gave him a few buffs or made him cheaper, maybe he'd be a bit less of a meme and more of a true jack of all stats, where his flexibility could really come into its own. Which would be fitting, he's more of a general than a dedicated fighter.
He just sucks because hes overpriced with mediocre items. He costs more than a moon dragon on a griffin (without any items/abilities/spells) and doesent even have breath attacks...
I feel a flying melee lord with self healing who has a powerful single target nuke should be pretty useful as is. I think a bigger problem is a combination of cost and the presence of two lords who support the SEM meta the high elves seem to rely on. I've had some success with Eltharion and a noble on an eagle as a goon squad, but I suspect dragons would be a better use of resources. I will say I think arcane unforging is quite powerful on a duelist, both for the direct damage and for the ability to shut down healing abilities.
What really blows my mind is he could've had somewhat of a place as a flying caster LL who can mix it up in combat but in the same patch CA put Teclis on a phoenix, something he did not really need(although you can argue he did in campaign, personally I think it should've been campaign only) thereby filling up that niche better than Eltharion ever could.

Big Eltharion fan myself, but his crunch is currently not up to snuff. I would like it his helm had a way shorter cooldown. His arrow storm also needs a damage buff. His sword is actually good, but the damage buff could be bigger. Physical resistance in AOE is also be a good upgrade option. Everything he does also needs a price reduction. Eltharion is not a hopeless case, but CA needs to tune him. Also it is true that in campaign pretty much any Lord can work... Tretch is most likely the weakest lord in the game, lagging behind many generic lords, but I had a blast with his campaign and will always have fond memories of that rat :D
4:46 I see the Metal Sorcerer approaching from the right and think "ah, so this is where Norsca wins with just one overcast Final Transmutation!" Eltharion, Fireborn, some Archers, some Rangers, and even the Light Wizard could all have been hit there, while the Skinwolves grind away against them. But no FT to be seen, the Sorcerer just stands around derping out. :(
am i the only one that casts spells and gives orders just to realize later that they just don't go off? depending on the lag i just cast a regrowth on the middle of the map, so frustrating
I have that happen from time to time. Also have spells cancelled when nothing is happening to the caster to interrupt. Usually peg it down to my own error.
@@The_Iowegian i bet experienced players don't even realize the little things they do to circumvent that. I played a lot of older rts games where so much of getting good was about playing around the buggy laggy engine
Never understood why skin wolves in the HE MU. It seems to me on paper that they have no home in HE battlefield. Cheap spears and arrows everywere, lots of fire synergies and presence of heavy cav. Someone may teach me why you would choose skin wolves? I always see them in almost every single MU whereas in my opinion there are a few ones in which you would rather take fimirs, like this one. Congrats to ducky and thx TUrin for your content! I am looking with tempting eyes the white dwarf t shirt! Because there are too many grudges in my day to day! It would spear me from wasting saliva!
