    I built a platform out of 2x4's with 6 in wheels. I have it on a concrete pad. I roll it up to the truck easy and perfect everytime. Takes all of a minute. No more getting into and out of the truck to check and or jacking it up cause of snow or sinking in mud.

    I just hit the thumbs up button for a guy from Mass based on his using a bungee to hold the mount level so you can drive into it... you beat that guy using the builtin tilt method by hooking up the harness first. Damn son , that was worth it right there!

    Thank you very much, I’ve been fighting my straight fisher plow for years. I bought it used and no instructions, I figured out the alignment but the “float” is great trick, I’ve jacked the the plow with a bottle neck jack and pounded the pins with a sledgehammer, swearing every minute. It’s taken me as long as hour to hook up the plow. Tonight after trying again for a half hour and frustrated I found your video, thank you for sharing.

      Bernie Phaneuf always gotta be in float. It's practically impossible to put on and take off when out of float. My mm1 takes no more then 2 min to hook up once I'm lined up

      Hey Purchased Fisher don’t like the one arm jack and spring pin. I’ve accidentally pushed plow while attempting hookup during snow storm. The light rack fell forward and jack arm fell out of place. It wasn’t easy straightening it out and getting it back in place to connect. I think Western has better placement with the two jack pins.

    Another thing that will help with getting hooked up quicker is to take the slack out of the chain on the opposite side of the spring on the chain after the pins are released, headgear won't tilt way back. I've had 3 minute mount 2s and it works great for me everytime.

    Thanks so much I was struggling for hours trying to hook up- your trick about hooking power, etc was the trick- now I have a Minute mount versus the 30 minute mount prior to your video oh and my wife thanks you

    Yeah add a bit of snow under the tires and it can be a bugger to get hooked up!
    I keep my plow on flat boards so it can slide and not freeze down.
    Keep the pins and everything greased well too.
    Thanks for the tips , it can be no fun hooking up alone at times.

    Thank you i have a 8.5’ v on a chevy 2500 . I swear most times i mountbit , outdoors, in the cold ! One time it lined right , a friend said just “ rock the head mast” back & forth but if too low you just get frustrated & talk to yourself lol! My wife will be happy not to hear my snow day “why the F dont they
    do ?? Rant!! Lol i will try those.?had this on three diff. Chevys since 2015 and love the plow. If this hack fails me im just leaving this god damn thing on the truck permanent and buy another truck to drive! Lol
    Good luck all . Duct tape pull handles on those connections (get black duct tape, looks better than silver) also di electric grease on connections ..
    Im sctuslly heading put shortly to disconnect my plow.. if i have to hook it up tomorrow it will appear that someone else dropped that much out of height alignment! Lol

    Oh, to line up the plow I put a piece of duck tape on the headlight back that lines up with the markings on the hood of my Tundra that are right in front of the driver. Works every time.

      Fred what plow you using on a Tundra just got a Fisher ht.

  • @unlimitedgoodliving5669
    @unlimitedgoodliving5669  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Yes, but you may also get some snow that will raise the truck, the wires need to be hooked up anyway and this is a neat trick to raise the plow frame without a second person or a prop.

  • @joshansin30
    @joshansin30 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    6:30 To get that extra click up on the jack dont lock the jack in first. Pull the jack release let it drop and push up on the headgear and pull the pin release. When you do it all in one motion it will give you that extra click while releasing the pins and wont seem low when pulling into it. Hope this helps. I love the minute mount 2 system. I have an 8' straight and my brother has a 9'6" xv2 ss.

    • @unlimitedgoodliving5669
      @unlimitedgoodliving5669  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is helpful but if you get any snow it raises the truck and you have the same problem. I like hooking the wires up first anyway as there's more room to work.

    I use 3 pieces of four inch long layers of duck tape top and bottom of the harness to use as a pull tab works great done it for years

    Use Die Electric Grease in/on connectors. Squeeze into female ends. They will never freeze on again and keep you pins from corroding(turning green).

    • @Osceola36dd

      Die Electris grease is a MUST if you want to keep your connections making contact thru the season. 🙂

    I have a minute mount 2 and I can install it on my 2500 in less than a minute.
    It takes 20 minutes to warm the tractor up.. But in under a minute I can pick up the blade with my bucket, use curl and dump to line everything up perfect, drive right in and lock the pins.

  • @MrGiovannix12
    @MrGiovannix12 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I use the bolt on my headlight to line up to the hood on the truck. works good Now I dont plug it in what I do is push the head gear towards the plow a little then drive in .

    Alignment is no problem, but the lowness of the plow frame always causes me difficulty with getting the pins to lock in. This method of connecting the plow electrics and raising it a bit is intriguing. I may try it next time.

    I have a Fisher 8.5' Xtreme V-Plow. I take it off every time in V-mode. I've never taken it off when it's been straight. It takes 30 to 45 seconds to put it back on. The Fisher MM2 system is as easy as it gets in my opinion.

    When unhooking I always put it in float and push the ram down. After I remove the plow I connect a pull strap from the frame to the center of the plow and cinch it tight. Then the frame never drops. Since I started doing this I've not had any hookup problems.

    • @Osceola36dd
      @Osceola36dd ปีที่แล้ว

      I permanently attached a small length of chain to the center of the plow and on the other end of the chain I have a hook that I connect to the lift chain after pulling the plow head back.

    Old video
    But brings back all the aggravation of the fisher I had. Minute mount my ass. Those pins had to be perfect or you were going to have a really shit time and end up getting pissed off and tired before your day even started.
    I now have a western mvp3 and the connection process is night and day. You just have to be in the ball park and just lift and lock the supports and your done. No fucking around. Keep ‘em greased is all!

    Looks nice enough. But the absolute BEST mounts are the Western Ultra Mount. 1 person. 1 minute. 1 successful plow mounting on your truck. I have 2 of them.1 is a 14 year old V plow & the other is a 12 year old Straight blade. They will last me as long as I want them to last.

    I wouldn't recommend plugging in and then driving into the plow. The wires could get pinched or caught in the receiving brackets. I've had the same plow and she is a beast.

      Michael Denave .
      I wonder how that plow will look in 3 years. With all those moving parts, the rust will seize everything up & he will need a hammer everytime he needs to put it on or remove it. Boss is decent but I prefer Western. The only thing I like about the Boss over the Western is downforce.

      Douglas Dynamics owns and makes Fisher, Western and Snow Ex plows. A lot of parts are interchangeable between the brands, especially the electronics and hydraulics.
