    Fisher plows are very weak compared to years ago. Had a 9 straight blade bend in half. Lot of electrical issues. Switched intire fleet to boss 9.2 dxt. Built very heavy no issues in 4 years😊

      I’m considering switching to fisher. I have a 7 6 HTX & need something bigger. Should I stay boss or go fisher ?

    Not sure why the change vs the other size XV2, but FYI the fleetflex straight blades have the boot on the passenger side also.

    what size truck do you plow the 10fter blade wirh. I have a 2024 chevy 3500 with a snow plow prep package looking to do a 9.6 inch V blade. have some people telling me to big it will weigh to much.... Im not seeing that a 9.6 ft V blade would be to big. thoughts

      I've been running the 9'6" and the 10'6" xv2 blade on my Ford 350 single rear wheel without any problem. Fisherplows.com has ematch where you can put in your trucks info and it will show the plows that they suggest for your particular truck.

      While on the army truck it didn't matter because I have lights up on the mirrors aimed down in front of the plow. I used it mostly on the Ford this winter so I installed head light risers.

    Do you find the chain rubs against the plastic pump housing when fully raised? I've had that problem with the new fisher plows. Especially the xls. Love these units otherwise.

  • @shanebaer2901

    never seen that center plate issue before. Could it just be a defect on your specific plow or is it a known Fisher issue?

    • @NEILSWORLD
      @NEILSWORLD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That new centerpiece for the new 10 and 1/2 xv2 is heavy and the vibration just cracked it. I don't know why it won't happen to all of them.

      @@NEILSWORLD ah i missed that. I got an 8.5 xv2

    • @JFon-ck6mg
      @JFon-ck6mg 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@NEILSWORLD I doubt it is from vibration - the 10.5 presumably doesn't vibrate any more than an 8.5/9.5. It was either a poor factory weld, or it was hit with force from the front while stacking into frozen piles etc and since it is taller than the 9.5 version, there is more leverage working against that mounting point.

  • @ACERRUBRUM31
    @ACERRUBRUM31 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the heads up on the frame work. I’ve had fisher plows since 86’, nothing compares.
    The xv2’s aren’t as tough as the ezv’s were years ago, but I still consider my xv2 the best plow I’ve ever owned.
    Only issue I have is the truck side battery to plow harness is about 8-10” too short, which can piss a guy off hooking it up in lake effect snow country where I’m at.

    • @redveinborneo4673
      @redveinborneo4673 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's probably an issue of how the harness was routed. I've installed hundreds of these things and I've never run into that issue. Sometimes people run them so you can hide the plugs behind the licence plate when not in use but if you don't mind having the plug visible you can run it through that rubber flap between the grill and the bumper to get a few extra inches.

    • @NEILSWORLD
      @NEILSWORLD  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I actually have bought a new power cable since then and it was that much longer.

    • @ACERRUBRUM31
      @ACERRUBRUM31 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NEILSWORLD that’s what happened when I ended up purchasing a “ long” version of the harness ( 28585 comes to mind). The one installed when I bought truck/ plow pkg just barely and I mean barely came through lower right side of radiator area, into grill where they’ve always installed the ones before. There was like zero play in them to get a hand inside grill area to r hook up power harness. The light harness was fine.
      But then, the dealer installed it, not a Fischer dealer, so the other guys probably spot on. With the longer power cable, and me installing it, I ended up w what you mentioned.
      Only thing I’m gonna miss is slipping my bare hand up in there, warming the boot up with my bare hand so its pliable, then scraping my bare skin against the plastic grill and fqsteners sticking out behind and sweating like that girl in the Exorcist movie. I mean, man, those were the days! ❄️❄️😁

    • @ACERRUBRUM31

      ….swearing not sweating

    • @redveinborneo4673
      @redveinborneo4673 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ACERRUBRUM31 the lengths of the harnesses are seemingly random on some of them. The light harness has about a foot of extra slack, the power harness has just enough (but the ground has about a foot more than you need), and the controller harness is so long that you have to fold it multiple times and zip tie it to itself. If you're putting it in a newer model diesel and/or getting the LED plow lights good luck finding the space for everything. I'm just venting at this point I swear I don't hate my job 😂

      The one I saw in your video is a nine and a half wide plow. The Snow control piece in the middle of the 10 and a half is totally redesigned and different than the 9 and 1/2. I've been using my 9 and 1/2 for 9 years no problem with the snow control piece on that one.

    @kylekinkade9211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    That was a nice upgrade video. Wish things were built to last as they used to be. Nowadays everyone is so quick to buy the newer version cuz bigger is always better. Maybe. But they have to have the wrinkles ironed out first such as the headlight/visibility issue.
    I foresee lights being installed right into the plow in the near future.

    • @NEILSWORLD
      @NEILSWORLD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Lights in the plow 🤔. Those would have to be some rugged light bulbs to take on that vibration.
