Awesome! I've got a few other plow videos on my channel and more to come this winter... just waiting for the snow. The last video I posted was "How to charge for snow plowing" here a link if you want to see how I come up with pricing... th-cam.com/video/ZpPRLKWY6YY/w-d-xo.html
I bought a Boss from him and I absolutely hated it! Ran it for one winter and sold it back to him. I wanted to get rid of it after the first plow but I kept it for a whole season just to make sure I didn't change my mind.
I got a 2016 F250 with Fisher V plow, And, Man, hooking it up to the truck is a pain, uneven ground, settling and alignment ..Then we had a crazy spring storm 2020, I drove a mile with the kick stand down!! OMG.. was a mess.. But I am glad I am not the only one who has to take a few tries to get the plow on !! Thought it was just me ! ..except for the kick stand thing.. totally rookie move on my part.. The minute mount is not a minute !
I've definitely pulled away with the kick stand down... you realize it pretty quick though!! LOL! I've done it in a minute... under perfect circumstances... but usually it takes much longer. I have a gravel driveway and it always sinks in a little and makes it really touch. Someone suggested that I put wide boards under the blade and stand and that will help even out the footprint. I haven't tried it though...
Absolutely the board helps. The key is the preps you make while unhooking. Get the board under the stand foot and have that stand fully lowered. The goal is to have minimal movement of the plow when you back away. When you do that you know you will be in the right vertical alignment next time. For horizontal alignment I put a mark on the drivers side light that I use to line up on to get me close.
Ah yes! My dashboard kept shorting out so there's some special wiring harness Chevy installed for free then my plow guy hooked it up to the plow. I'm not exactly sure what it does but my dashboard doesn't short out anymore!
HA! Yeah it is a bear sometimes. The worst is when it is a bad storm and I didn't prepare and I'm rushing to get on the road. That's when it gives me the most trouble!!! I had a Boss plow for 1 year and I loved the mounting system. It was truly amazing. But I HATED the plow. It destroyed all my gravel driveways due to being completely hydraulic instead of chain driven. With the chain it allows it to ride if theres a hump in the driveway. With the Boss the only way to do it was to drop it down into float mode but the plow was so heavy that if the gravel wasn't frozen solid it was just like a bulldozer!!!
Yes, if you're on pavement it goes on easy most of the time. It tends to sink in my gravel driveway which makes it not line up right. I tried taking it off not in V but straight and there is less tension on the chains and that seems to make it a little easier to do, but also a little less stable. I also put it on some boards to help prevent sinking. Waiting for my first storm to plow and I'll find out for sure if i made the right choice
two years ago my plow dealer convinced me to trade in my 2 year old fisher for a boss... after plowing one day with it i wanted to give it back! But I used it for the rest of the season. It did so much damage to my gravel and paved driveways that there was no way I was going to keep it. The controller is twice as big too and awkward to use. Also, the whole thing where when your backblading and the wings fold into scoop mode makes backblading near impossible! Oh and those LED headlights I couldn't see shit when it was snowing. The only thing I did like about it was how easy it was to hook up. But other than that Fisher all day for me!
Nick, your 5 min video was very helpful for someone new to all of this. Thank you for the safety tips. Two Thumbs Up!

Thanks for the video. Nice plow.
You're Welcome! Thanks, I like it too. Only thing is I wish I went with the taller one.
Good video. I bought my Boss VXT from Boondocker Great company to deal with.

@@BorsellinoHomeServices I don’t hear to many say that about Boss plows. Curious what you hated about it?
Thanks Nick. Excellent detail. Very informative. Well presented.
Thanks for watching and giving your feedback! Each video gets a little better than the last one I think
Do you know if a fisher mm2 push plate will work for that style plow?
sorry i don't know. best bet is to call a local installer and ask them

What size vplow do you have do you have a 2500
i think it is an 8'6" and yes it's a 2500
what is the 3rd plug for, aren't 2 plug systems standard?

Where in NY are you
Cazenovia NY which is a small town outside Syracuse. We have more cows than people here...
@@BorsellinoHomeServices I’m in Buff. You guys get a lot of snow out there
Minute mount 2- worst ever! Had one, such a pain in the ass! Should change it to 20 minute mount!

It takes me less then a min it’s not hard you just need to know how to do it

@motorkola2 it worked great as always! I'm upstate so I only got about 8 inches although it was on the heavier side
maybe they should rename it fisher 5 minute mount none of these are ever 1 minute all the time
Ain't that the truth! Everyone once in a while I get lucky and it goes on in a minute
Western is so much easier to hook up. Hell with these fishers
I've never seen a western hookup i'll have to look for a video on it!! :)
Boss is so much better
