TRQ Struts are made to fit your vehicle exactly, just like the original part. Struts can wear out as early as 50,000 miles. You should inspect them regularly for leaks or wear. Save time, money, and hassle by replacing an entire strut assembly. This video shows you how to install new reliable TRQ struts in your 2003-2013 Toyota Matrix.

So you basically will spend 90% of the install time with the trunk plastic pieces lol
If you remove the narrow storage tray behind the seats as well as the spare tire cover tray, the nuts for the strut are accessible to be removed and torqued with a 3/8" torque wrench without removing any of the trim panels on the interior. I was also able to vacuum under the back seats with that narrow tray out. A brick-and-mortar store had a video up showing the process without removing the trim panels.
The best kind of TH-cam video, straight to the point with clear info and good camera angles.

" A loving BUMP" wails the hell out of it with a hammer! Great VID!
I call you the 'Terminator' of car repair, just getting it done with no fuss, total pro, thanks for sharing
Wonderful video, BEST ONE ON TH-cam. You explained the WHOLE process, others skip a lot of steps. Thank You.
Thx for this great diy video. Torque for bottom nut on 19mm sockett was 101ftpounds on other videos and for the top it was 29ft pounds on top bolts with 14mm socket. This video shows all 59ft pounds. Hopefully someone can double check this for me. Thx in advance
threadlocker in rust country????? should be using anti-seize on all nuts and bolts
Your front strut vids are the best on the net! THANKS
Awesome. Thank you, quick, fast and clear. The front struts vids are as good.

Pay attention to the hooky dues lol
It's a very good video thank you I used to to replace my strut on my 04 matrix. However mine had three bolts in the trunk. And the bottom mounting bolt. Not sure why yours had that other bolt ;)
Make sure to Hookie do your Hookie doo's. Do we have a count? Great vid.
Torqued!!!!! great video
I just finished this job. It's totally unnecessary to remove the interior side and rear cover panels. Dropping both sides at the same time by removing the bottom mounts helped a lot.
How do you know if you need front or back struts??
I would have torqued the lower strut bolt with the vehicle off the ground to prevent torquing against the bulging bushing. Just my opinion.
You guys need to define if you have the both rear struts out at one time, or your doing one at a time
No need to remove both Side Panels.
The hard bushing didn't come with the new parts
I'm definitely only using a wrench. Not removing all that.
"vehercle"
I see now. When you have the strut out you have 2 studs on top of the strut mine has 3. 04 matrix. Same difference I guess it just stinks for you that you had to do that one from the bottom
How DUMB could Toyota be?? Removed the entire interior of the rear of the car to replace the struts!! That is FU-----UP!!!!!! ps - and do you think the repair shop rushes this job? A licence to steal...
