Same. That's where my half sleeve's at, I've had 3 day sessions so far and my artist does great work. The price always depends on complexity, size and placing, it's hilarious when people guess prices and have obviously no f**king clue 😂
I have bright red roses on my chest that took two weekends (one on the outline and another for color) and it all costed me about 3 grand (which also made breaking up the sessions a good idea because I was 19 at the time) that was my first tattoo they've only gotten bigger and more expensive so when he talked about getting a sleeve in a weekend or paying 2 grand I laughed ... Like I don't care what other people put on their bodies but his opinions showed how ignorant he was
For real, sounds like he is just coping with not being able to afford big pieces. Because then he later says how he likes the leg sleeves, even though they are clearly a cohesive ‘theme’ - aka build-a-sleeve - just with a ton of negative (free $) space.

Absolutely! Especially because there are a lot of like white supremacy dog whistle symbols that can be hidden in tattoos. Like I asked m tattoo artist about a raven tattoo I wanted to get because I love the birds and he told me, that they are sometimes used by n*zis as a symbol of loyalty to the 'arian race'. so be careful people and know what you're tattoos mean before you get them

First guy is right tho, *loyalty " is 100% my biggest red flag tattoo (other then basically having porn) because EVERY person I have ever known with any time of loyalty tattoo are always the most unloyal people ever
Each of my tattoos have special meaning to me and I'm the only one who know the context. If other people find them ugly, or red flag or whatever, I couldn't care less.
I mean, kinda depends where you live I guess. In my country (slovakia) the 2k for a full sleeve would be more or less the normal price. Nothing too expensive yet nothing cheap either.
I'm about to get my first tattoo, on my forearm. Because *I* will be able to see it and enjoy it all the time! I've waited long enough (I'm far from 18, lol) and I don't want the tattoo hidden on my shoulder or wherever, and I've been wanting this specific one for literally over a decade, and I want to admire it as often as I want :)
I have my first tattoo also on my forearm for the same reason :) (Well technically first is my "semi-pernament" = turned fully permanent eyeliner tattooed at 16 but now I mean my first proper tattoo) I want to see it and remind it. For myself, I don't care about others :D I think it's pretty normal, go for it and admire it as much as you want💘
Red flag tattoos for me; Hate symbols. Numbers on the wrist or forearms. Criminal or gang type tattoos (like teardrop, number 13, spiderweb on the elbow etc). Sure many of them have never done a crime their whole life, and just got it because it looks cool. But it shows that they either 1; Don't care to research what they get tattooed on them. or 2; Don't mind the association. Also orange flag tattoos for me is large script with either the last name, their first name, or the word "family". 99% of the people i know with those are toxic af, and think any bad action should be excused in order to be loyal to the family. So I tend to not get too involved.
Back your bus up on the cat tattoos, Pony! In a couple of weeks, I'm getting a portrait commemorating my beloved cat who passed earlier this year by an artist who does AMAZING color realism and I will be sporting that bad boy PROUDLY. NO RAGRETS
(22) Well, dirty words and offensive symbols are my idea of a red flag. Back in the day, I'd be sitting in pub, drinking a red beer, smoking cigarettes and playing Box Solitaire when some guy would plop his ass down at my table because they thought I "needed company". Most of the time I'd just pretty much ignore them, but this one guy was pointing out his dirty word tatts and I asked the bartender to tell him to leave me alone. YUCK ......
I'm getting both arms sleeved out. I've done seven or eight years of planning and a couple of months finding the right artist. My first arm Is 98% done and I'm in it for around 5 to 6 thousand, and the work is amazing.
It’s probably a really specific to me one but men that only have a calf or upper arm tattoo of their favourite sports team logo seem to signal a specific type of person who I’m usually not interested in interacting with. There’s a few others that are probably pretty common in terms of “this tells me you’re not a good/safe/respectful person” but I thought I’d just throw this random one out there.
I have the cheetah print down my leg and I regret every second of it 🤣🤣🤣 thank god I have an amazing man and family 10yrs later. I wish I could laser it off but man it’s a fortune and huge.
How else does he want a sleeve to be 🤣 Like personally for me I want a sleeve of stuff I love , all color have it blend but it doesn’t mean have to be a full theme . But I love a full theme sleeve
My tattoo red flag is an upside down miserable sasquatch on the knee 😜 haha no, its the "we got drunk and made our own tattoogun and tattood each other on my bedroomfloorcarpet whitout switching needles" and obviously hate tattoos and the lions with the blue eyes, or the lion/rose/watch combo
I cackled when he said he didn't like neo traditional. i was like what?! a whole style of tattooing is a redflag. honestly, get what you want. I think any offensive tattoos obviously the redflags.
Other than the obvious offensive hate shit, my red flags include but are not limited to: - finger mustaches - really any teeny tiny minimalist tattoos, especially on the hand - really big and/or gaudy religious pieces - the deathly hallows and dark mark - tim burton - torn skin with the american flag underneath - anything that incorporates the belly button or an orifice into the design (i.e. belly button is a cat butthole, spider web around an actual butthole, etc etc) - specifically on men: lions, 90s-00s style tribal, realistic or overtly sexual hot girls (classic pinups and american trad are usually fine) And I say "red flag" not to say I don't like the tattoos themselves or that they look bad, but I am at least a little more wary of anyone who has them. I thought about getting a couple of them myself, but after meeting people and educating myself.....nah lol
In reply to the belly button portion: I have a sternum piece of some spiral clouds that morphs down into a whale tail sat right above my turquoise navel piercing so it acts as a tiny splash "ploop" and I absolutely love how my artist incorporated it ☺️ But I also absolutely agree with the gaudy monkey anus tats lmao
I think a red flag is getting crappy work done. Not necessarily poor art style but like blown out lines, poor color saturation, no skin breaks, like the fundamentals. And then saying how awesome it is or the artist is. Respect your body a little bit more than that.
For me, the biggest tattoo red flag is getting traditional tattoos from an oppressed group that has stated that their tattoos are a closed practice. Such as traditional Inuit tattoos. Im Inuit and plan on getting them done, but non-Inuit get them done as a trend. So seeing someone with any kind of "tribal" tattoos that is not a part of that particular people is juat a massive red flag.
American traditional are timeless classics, just like you said they stood the test of time. My red flag would be tribal bands! Also where didn’t you get that awesome sweatshirt?
My husband has a lovely lion tattoo. He had a big ol orange tom cat and got the tattoo the day his kitty passed to commemorate the life of his best friend.
The fact that people in the "tattoo subculture" are judging other people for having tattoos they disapprove of is insane to me. Self awareness is a gift and it was not gifted to everyone I suppose
"This is a great example of buildings, different" as he points at telephone poles...His green flags were hilarious. Whats sad is Im sure he's serious and all his red flags about being a try hard, he is being a try hard for liking shit tattoos.
I actually find the eleven on the wrist to be a major red flag. I'm Jewish and a large criticism the Stranger Things franchise has had is they attempted to change the prison Hopper was kept in into a Stranger Things themed hotel, depsite being a former holocaust camp. Its a historical site. And alongside the whole tattooing of numbers on wrists says a lot about your ability to think and research decisions. Other ones include: Celtic Knots, chinese and japanese characters, and tribal tattoos, all on people who aremt part of the cultures they are from or don't understand or respect them.
I have a colored lion tattoo that I love and actually has a meaning behind it. But red flags for me: any kind of hate tattoo, ex-bofriend or girlfriend's name and probably any face tattoos
I got all my tats in prison. Some were major mistakes and others are gems. I have a few I want to get rid of and one I need finished because the artist got shipped out. Need money for all of the fixes. Currently fighting for disability.
In 1917, when he was 17, my Grandpa joined the Navy. He said that he INSTANTLY ran to the wharf and got both arms sleeved with 22 different tattoos. He showed them to me all the tiime, starting in 1975. When he died in 2000, they still looked STRONG. Yeah, American Traditional DOES stick, but GOOD! (He also told me to never get one. Sorry, Grandpa! I love you!! 🖤)
@PonyLawson I had to laugh when you mentioned the refusal of Lion requests. The Lion and Pocket watch combo is very much in effect in the UK 🇬🇧 AND NOT FOR THE BETTER 😂 The first time I’ve seen the triple threat Lion/Pocket Watch/Rose- poor rose 🌹, should have been left out…
The sword is Narsil, the "Sword that was Broken" and reforged to become Anduril the "Flame of the West". Which is the sword of Aragon, from the Lord of the Rings. So it shows he's Tolkien geek!
Even before i got my first tattoo at 18, i made a rule that even now at 35, I hold to, its the yakuza rules, if it isnt covered by a suit I wont get it there. And im about 40% covered at this point and its all piece work with filler.
I'm going to be 30 this year, and I'm definitely glad I saved my forearms for tattoos up until this point. I'm getting a big forearm tattoo in April, of Hermes from the Hades video game, and it's going to be so good. I'm getting from the same guy who did my last one. He specializes in anime/video game style tattoos, so it's tailor made for him. But everything else that guy said is wack lol.
This is not me pooing on your video. But I really look foreward to seeing your videos and hearing you thoughts.... I was a bit dissapointed with home boy FRO's personal opinions and trying to relate them to the views of the masses. Nah dog, you just have opinions on what tattoos you like or dont like. Those tattoos dont pre-warn of potentially awkward, frustrating, or evil humans. That guy was dumb
The telegraph poles weren't particularly well done but I actually kinda liked it, probably about as unique as you're gunna find. I salute her for having the confidence to go with something so weird.
Do you have videos of the sort of tattoos that age well? I'm thinking of getting my second one and I'd like to plan for a while before going asking around for portfolios.
i changed the placement of my first tattoo right before i got it (at the artists suggestion don’t worry, didn’t wait till the needle was about to hit to change my mind) and every tattoo i’ve gotten since was completely unplanned, all done at flash days, most of them for charity:) i like that they’re spontaneous, i have a row of teeth where one of the teeth has a gap because it goes right over a mole and the artist wouldn’t tattoo over it (which is good, don’t get you moles tattooed because it makes it harder for dermatologists to analyse them)
I strongly believe you stole this idea from reddit tattoos as it was trending on there about 7 days before you posted this comment. Could be a coincidence.
@@CaledonianCraft It is a coincidence. I don't use reddit. But it is an admittedly very reachable idea. I would not be surprised if it's been "discovered" hundreds of times.
Do i understand correctly that clock and lion tattoos are “in” right now? and that it’s a little played out? and this is why people have begun hating them? Or is it something else? Do clock and lion tattoos have any particular meaning? Or is there some reason, of which I’m not aware, that people are getting these? Not part of the body modification community - although I loved the RE/Search book from the ‘80s about it - so I’ve no way to sate my curiosity, yet I *am* curious as to what’s going on!
That stick and poke candle would look really cool if the handle actually made sense and looked like a real object that exists in reality😬😅😂 but fr that stick and poke style looks like you could do some really cool things with it.
red flag for me would be the K and Q with the crowns or hearts, usually done on the sides of the fingers. i feel like it screams 'toxic relationship' i feel like every time id get a consultation form with a picture of a crown on it, i can immediately pick my client out of a crowded lobby. like, its probably the guy that looks like he raps in his moms basement and its the girl wearing all the faux gold with those crazy stiletto nails.
My tattoo artist and I have been best friends for 20 years (she's done all of mine except for 2.) I drive her crazy, though, because all of my forearm tattoos are "upside down." My reasoning - they're for me. Idgaf what the rest of the world thinks about my ink. Some of my other tattoos are more ornamental, but the ones on my forearms have a lot of deep meaning for me, and I am the one who spends the most time looking at my lower arms, so for me it's important that they "read" from my pov. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but it's my body, so at the end of the day I 'm the only one who has to be happy with them. Also for context, I let her do her first tattoo on me when she became an apprentice, which is probably why she puts up with me 😂. Either way, she gave up trying to change my mind about it a long time ago. She's absolutely the best .
First tattoo on side of calf artist just opened his studeo and im his first client after a 3 year apprentice thus was 24 years ago, it looks like he did it 2 weeks ago the color is still popping lines crisp it was my design he liked it did some artistic interpetation but still looks amazing
The blackest tattoos I have is a black panther and the outlines of a hand with a spike thru it, the other 16 are filled with colour, why? Because black fades over the years, my panther has been reshaded once after 15 years, none of my coloured has had to be filled, despite being older than the panther.
I'm gonna be honest man Inked Magazine doing a "red flag tattoos" on TikTok outside some random nerd convention is just all around lame. None of these people have any connections to the tattoo industry and Inked Magazine just reposts "cringe/bad" TikTok compilations, celebrity tattoos and their scam cover girl shit. I can't wait until a lot of this stuff just goes away for good.
😊 I totally agree with American traditional also called old school with bold out line I'm still practicing my drawing of it now like snakes head and old school rose
I'm not sure if my tattoo is a red flag or not but when I was 16 my mom let me get my artist signature on my wrist. It's my chosen name with a lightning bolt under it, the reason I love this tattoo so much is because it reminds me that my body is mine and I do what I want, I'm 18 now and I still don't regret my tat. The tat itself isn't perfect, it's a little blown out and one detail is missing but I personally love it
My most hated tattoos at the moment, that make me want to gag, are when one guy pees on a wall or slags (spits chunkers) on the ground and they make a print of it to turn into another person’s tattoo, VILE. I also loathe the bite tattoos, where one partner bites the other and the indent is then tattooed in, so gross. These tattoos to me are meaningless and just disgusting 🤮

Also orange flag tattoos for me is large script with either the last name, their first name, or the word "family". 99% of the people i know with those are toxic af, and think any bad action should be excused in order to be loyal to the family. So I tend to not get too involved.
“The capacity to hate is a frightening human reality. We are always ready to blame another if the circumstances can free us from our own self-guilt.”
The sword is the "shard of narsil" from the lord of the rings. It's the sword that cut the ring from Saurons hand. He's an LOTR fan clearly
lol the dude was a walking red flag 🤣 i feel like hes the type to like things because it's different rather than for what it is.
Back your bus up on the cat tattoos, Pony! In a couple of weeks, I'm getting a portrait commemorating my beloved cat who passed earlier this year by an artist who does AMAZING color realism and I will be sporting that bad boy PROUDLY. NO RAGRETS
I feel like I haven't seen a video from pony in a while, I'm psyched to see one finally ❤😊
The second dude has a deathly hallows on his biceps 🤣
It’s probably a really specific to me one but men that only have a calf or upper arm tattoo of their favourite sports team logo seem to signal a specific type of person who I’m usually not interested in interacting with. There’s a few others that are probably pretty common in terms of “this tells me you’re not a good/safe/respectful person” but I thought I’d just throw this random one out there.
I have the cheetah print down my leg and I regret every second of it 🤣🤣🤣 thank god I have an amazing man and family 10yrs later. I wish I could laser it off but man it’s a fortune and huge.
Red flags for me is that guy picking ANY tattoo designs
I agree on the lion tattoos. Why get a lion when Tony the Tiger exists?
Little cats are good to 😆
“No regurts” does it for me 😂
How else does he want a sleeve to be 🤣
Like personally for me I want a sleeve of stuff I love , all color have it blend but it doesn’t mean have to be a full theme . But I love a full theme sleeve
Exactly I'm doing a nature theme sleeve, all my fave scenes and animals full color
The sword on the arm is anduril from lord of the rings. I gues he likes lord of the rings.
Anduril is the sword when it's re-forged, what he's got there is the largest fragment and hilt of Narsil, the original sword. Technically :P
@@thomasjoychild4962 Ohh yeah you are right! I got outnerded.
@@kumpelblase2993 outnerded is a great word 😂 i love it
My tattoo red flag is an upside down miserable sasquatch on the knee 😜 haha no, its the "we got drunk and made our own tattoogun and tattood each other on my bedroomfloorcarpet whitout switching needles" and obviously hate tattoos and the lions with the blue eyes, or the lion/rose/watch combo
I cackled when he said he didn't like neo traditional. i was like what?! a whole style of tattooing is a redflag. honestly, get what you want. I think any offensive tattoos obviously the redflags.
Other than the obvious offensive hate shit, my red flags include but are not limited to:
- finger mustaches
- really any teeny tiny minimalist tattoos, especially on the hand
- really big and/or gaudy religious pieces
- the deathly hallows and dark mark
- tim burton
- torn skin with the american flag underneath
- anything that incorporates the belly button or an orifice into the design (i.e. belly button is a cat butthole, spider web around an actual butthole, etc etc)
- specifically on men: lions, 90s-00s style tribal, realistic or overtly sexual hot girls (classic pinups and american trad are usually fine)
And I say "red flag" not to say I don't like the tattoos themselves or that they look bad, but I am at least a little more wary of anyone who has them. I thought about getting a couple of them myself, but after meeting people and educating myself.....nah lol
In reply to the belly button portion:
I have a sternum piece of some spiral clouds that morphs down into a whale tail sat right above my turquoise navel piercing so it acts as a tiny splash "ploop" and I absolutely love how my artist incorporated it ☺️
But I also absolutely agree with the gaudy monkey anus tats lmao
I think a red flag is getting crappy work done. Not necessarily poor art style but like blown out lines, poor color saturation, no skin breaks, like the fundamentals. And then saying how awesome it is or the artist is. Respect your body a little bit more than that.
1:33 those shapes are ineptly drawn dungeons and dragons dice.
The Green Flag made me really laugh.. 🤣😂🤣😂
I cant wait to see all my fav artists at the Tattoo Convention in Chi town
American traditional are timeless classics, just like you said they stood the test of time. My red flag would be tribal bands! Also where didn’t you get that awesome sweatshirt?
8:35 I'm seriously out of practice but I'm sure it says 12. 2. 1941!
that’s where i got too
My husband has a lovely lion tattoo. He had a big ol orange tom cat and got the tattoo the day his kitty passed to commemorate the life of his best friend.
IoI 2:23 does also has the light glyph from TOH.??
A sleeve that costs less than $2000 is a red flag tattoo
I got mine for 2$ from the gas station and I even can take it of to wash 😂
@@aleisterlavey9716 Lmao sounds like a great concept 😂👌🏼
How many takes were there of you catching that mad rabbit product without looking😂?
Great vid Pony- always enjoy em!
I was wondering about that also lol
I have a colored lion tattoo that I love and actually has a meaning behind it. But red flags for me: any kind of hate tattoo, ex-bofriend or girlfriend's name and probably any face tattoos
I have no tattoos BUT that American Traditional coloured one was amazing!!!!
My dad (who is a native) has a tribal tramp stamp and I used to find that hilarious
What if it's a tattoo of a red flag?
You have just given me a tattoo idea.
Communism is a red flag, yes.
@PonyLawson
I had to laugh when you mentioned the refusal of Lion requests.
The Lion and Pocket watch combo is very much in effect in the UK 🇬🇧 AND NOT FOR THE BETTER 😂
The first time I’ve seen the triple threat Lion/Pocket Watch/Rose- poor rose 🌹, should have been left out…
I spent $2000 on a tattoo and that isn’t expensive for what I got. I love it and the artist did a fantastic job
Not me reading that Pride tattoo like it was saying ‘Rude’ | 0:49
9:12 MCMXLI=1941. So either his birthday is December 2nd 1941, or February 12th 1941.
@1:30 The shapes on the right arm are D&D Dice.
@9:45 The red flag is he doesn't know what he actually loves/hates
Do you have videos of the sort of tattoos that age well? I'm thinking of getting my second one and I'd like to plan for a while before going asking around for portfolios.
i changed the placement of my first tattoo right before i got it (at the artists suggestion don’t worry, didn’t wait till the needle was about to hit to change my mind) and every tattoo i’ve gotten since was completely unplanned, all done at flash days, most of them for charity:) i like that they’re spontaneous, i have a row of teeth where one of the teeth has a gap because it goes right over a mole and the artist wouldn’t tattoo over it (which is good, don’t get you moles tattooed because it makes it harder for dermatologists to analyse them)
What is a realistic price for a full sleeve?
I'm seriously considering a joke tattoo of The Tramp (of Lady and... fame), stylised like it's an actual rubber stamp. On my lower back.
You are my kind of a person. Do it!
2000 sleeve! Daaaaaamn that’s what my forearm cost
red flag for me would be the K and Q with the crowns or hearts, usually done on the sides of the fingers. i feel like it screams 'toxic relationship'
i feel like every time id get a consultation form with a picture of a crown on it, i can immediately pick my client out of a crowded lobby. like, its probably the guy that looks like he raps in his moms basement and its the girl wearing all the faux gold with those crazy stiletto nails.
What's your take on a white on black tattoo as a cover up?
I'm gonna be honest man Inked Magazine doing a "red flag tattoos" on TikTok outside some random nerd convention is just all around lame. None of these people have any connections to the tattoo industry and Inked Magazine just reposts "cringe/bad" TikTok compilations, celebrity tattoos and their scam cover girl shit. I can't wait until a lot of this stuff just goes away for good.
3:27 red flag: all of this guy's opinions.
The tat itself isn't perfect, it's a little blown out and one detail is missing but I personally love it
On min 1:17 the sword is the one Aragon had it rebuilt " the lord of the rings" 😂
I just knew that guy with the glasses would love that style. He was making my brain hurt.
The more he talks…
My most hated tattoos at the moment, that make me want to gag, are when one guy pees on a wall or slags (spits chunkers) on the ground and they make a print of it to turn into another person’s tattoo, VILE. I also loathe the bite tattoos, where one partner bites the other and the indent is then tattooed in, so gross. These tattoos to me are meaningless and just disgusting 🤮
Pony, I was laughing loud enough to annoy my neighbors watching you lay into these fools. I’m crying. So brutal.
