A modern day master indeed. I still love the old things he did with Monty Alexander and Ray Brown back in the day. To my knowledge, there is no better brush player in jazz either. Very musical, creative drummer.
I've noticed 2 Thumbs Down for this, they were obviously not drum lovers. What's not to like about a drum solo like that? The dum solo was musical & showed great finesse.

Jeff Namilton and Steve Smith, these two are definitely in the top five of the best drummers. For Jeff Hamilton, a real successor to drummers like Sid Cutlet and Joe Jones and Joe Morello, just look at who he pays homage to.
Jeff Hamilton! What can be said? Tremendous player, very musical indeed! Knows how to connect technique with taste to get an extremely musical result. I don't know what else to say, his playing says it all. God bless him!

Just a small 4 kit sounds better than a lot of today’s big kits. It boils down to the drummer...but not keen on the hands playing. Use bongos for that.
