The issue with Rhaenyra accepting bastards and giving them dragons is that with Jace being a bastard as well, if she dies, then it could cascade in to causing a whole bunch of other issues with those bastards wanting a claim if Rhaenyra wins. It would be a clusterfuck of succession
Syrax and Seasmoke on that beach looked amazing as well as the final shot with Rhaenyra standing there. Silverwing might be my favorite new design. Mysaria making a mistake about trusting lowborns. Saera Targaryen’s bastard son claimed her father’s dragon.
Pretty sure that was Vermithor behind Syrax not seasmoke. The dragon behind syrax was clearly bronze and was clearly bigger then syrax even though he was positioned further back.
I understood the pov and respected that old man for protecting his people. I respected Rhaenyra as well for not forcing the issue and taking the task upon herself.
Rhaenyra 100% let ulf go to Kings Landing because she knew Aemond would follow. Because Aemond can’t win against 4 dragons and right now they only have Vhagar.
Gotta disagree, guy was benefiting off the possibility of the name, and then when it came to be true pissed all over the responsibility of having said name, by ruining the element of surprise, what was only whispers over at house green, is now confirmed. We'll have to see next week.
@@NerdsEngage Nah, he probably went there because Rhaenyra ordered him to, to get Aemond to see that they are now far more powerful (in dragon numbers, at least) than him and perhaps make him realize that he has no choice but to submit to her claim.

@enavihz yep she quite literally said this earlier in the episode. She is hoping that with more dragons she will strike fear and make them submit to her. Of course they won't, but that was her hope. And worse case scenario and aemond did continue to follow and attack then they were their and ready to face him.
They do have dreamfyre, Halaenas dragon, who is also quite large, but I doubt Halaena would fly out with Aemond. But if Daemon decides to rejoin Ranearya, she will literally be unstoppable, with Silverwing, Vermithor, AND Caraxes, Vhagar might even quiver in her ginormous boots
11:05 Jace isn't wrong at all in this point of view... the only reason people accept his, Luke's and Joffrey's legitimacy as pure-blood Targaryens, children of Rhaenyra and Laenor, is the fact that their dragon eggs hatched when they were born and their ties to the dragons gradually increased as they grew to the point where they became their riders. Allowing bastards or people with no connection to the Targaryen blood to claim a dragon basically tells the common people that the Targaryens' connection to dragons is nothing special, just like Cole was very wrong when he displayed Meleys' head around Kingsland, basically showing that dragons are not invincible gods. Both sides of the coin are understandable, both Jace and Rhaenyra, after all if the bastards and commoners can do this, what stops them from using this divine force (the dragons) to face the Targaryens and want to usurp the Iron Throne from them? both concerns are understandable: Rhaenyra wanting to end the war so she can rule in peace and Jace wanting to fight for his mother's legitimacy and his own claim to the Iron Throne but at the same time questioning whether when she is gone, people will accept him as King and not end up suffering what his mother is currently suffering with the usurpation of the greens.
I knew that the two characters who previously had speaking roles in the series would be chosen as riders by the dragons. I really didn't want the town bar fly, Ulf, to be chosen, but oh well..😅
Overall one of my personal favorites episodes of HOD so far. This proves that you don't need action packed scenes to create something magical. But anybody else feel this season was really affected by the strike? Just seems like this season was written for 10 or more episodes? Feels like we are just building towards something that needs 2-3 more episodes, not one. I don’t really understand why this couldn’t have been an entire season of the show? Condal seemed so completely uninterested in why the dragons chose these guys but like, imagine a show where we track six or seven small folk, get their backstories, come to really care about them, and then see each of them try to claim a dragon. We got a little time with Hugh and Ulf but not enough to really want to see them succeed. They both have compelling narratives. Hugh is willing to sacrifice everything if it means his family will be better off for such an all or nothing gamble. Ulf has that kinda charm to him that really screams "this guy is in over his head", with his own self doubts about himself. I really like how Vermithor and Silverwing embody the personalities of their new riders. One is strong and stern with a commanding aura around it that shows such ferocity and anger in such a limited time while the other, interestingly, conveys a more playful demeanor that seems more eager to have fun and enjoy the thrills. And we (at least book readers) knew immediately that Hugh and Ulf were gonna be the ones to do it, because they’re the ones we’d been following. The small folk who died, who cares? The implications surrounding Targaryen power and the stuff with the dragon keepers was cool. It just felt so rushed cramming all of this into one episode, but the ideas were way more interesting than like 80% of season 1. The scene with Aegon struggling to walk got me.. I'm not saying it because I'm Team Green, but man you just have to feel sorry for Aegon at this point. Give Tom Glynn-Carney all the awards - he has been absolutely phenomenal to watch this season!Oscar Tully with balls of Valyrian steel. He really walked Daemon right into his web with Willem Blackwood’s execution… had that planned perfectly & left him absolutely no choice. That scene felt like peak Game of Thrones, Oscar not only earned the respect of his bannermen but also managed to completely outplay Daemon at the same time. that ending shot with the three dragons and Rgaenyra eyeing Aemond down is one of my favorite shots of this series. The finale will be insane. Daeron and Tessarion showing up with the Hightower army after all that teasing since Episode 1. The Starks crossing the Twins. Cole and Gywane "beef". Daemon finally getting his army. Possibly a battle shown. There is so much that's about to happen - just enjoy it before we will have to wait 2 years😭
Oscar was the mvp of the episode. I love that the dragons pick their riders. I believe Rhaenyra told Ulf to go to Kingslanding to draw Aemond out so they could ambush him. That last shot of Rhaenyra and the 3 dragons waiting on Aemond gave me life. Loved your reaction 🖤
I heard next episode he asks Helaena to fight with him. Like leave my girl alone goddamnit! She wants no part of this stupid war. Aemond had no use for his sister when he thought he was the baddest kid on the block.
@@queenxx1690People said that because that's how the original character was. We did not realize how much the showrunners were going to change the characters especially Daemon and Aemond. I'll always give a chance to Daemon, cause he's done a lot of bad things, but everything started cause he only wanted to be next to Viserys and Otto screwed that, he did say what he said about his son, but i remember that he wasn't happy, he wanted to be the King's hand and Viserys accepted Otto's intrigues to take him apart, then he started to want the crown, but more as a revenge or even as an achievement, even when he won the war against the Crabman, he didn't come back wanting to fight over the kingdom, he wanted approval, that's why i will always say that Otto is the real responsible, for this, for making Alicent marry the king, for making her believe that Rhaenira would kill her sons, for making the coup, etc... fun reaction as always, keep rocking an stay safe....!

He is. Lords have much to lose by turning against the King/Queen even as a dragon rider. Baseborn dragon riders have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Feel like they should have had the other dragons launch to meet Silverwing as he returned to Dragonstone, and then have Aemond command Vhagar to flee. I think we’re supposed to assume that he spotted the other dragons, but visually the scene lacked a little there. Then they could have landed for the hero shot with Rhaenyra at the end. And it didn’t make much sense for Addam and Seasmoke to be absent. I get that this episode was largely about Hugh & Ulf claiming Vermithor & Silverwing respectively, but feels like it’d be a bigger show of force to show they had *three* new dragonriders, not just two.
I don't think he needs to have seen the other dragons. I think the main point was that he saw where Silverwing went. He must know by size that is not Rhaenyra's dragon, and so she now has at least two with riders. If he also assumes that isn't Daemond's dragon, that is at least three... and the area ahead is a probable ambush. One interesting question is whether the dragon chose to go to King's landing, the rider took him there on a hilarious test run... or Rhaenyra set a trap to lure her prey to Justice.
I hadn't had much thoughts about Hugh until this episode but god damn did he just become a million times cooler. Face a mountain of a fire-breathing killing machine that just murdered half of your fellow bastard uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces, look death directly in the eye and tell it "I am not afraid."
Team⚫️Black has Syrax, Caraxes, Vermax, Moondancer, Seasmoke, Vermithor, Silverwing, and if Rhaena claims Sheepstealer that makes 8 vs Team🟢Green Vhagar, Dreamfyre, Tessarion and Sunfyre who’s physically limited now for 3 strong 🐉🐉🐉 and 1 handicapped Dragon🐊
My girls trying to enjoy the beautiful score by Djawadi in that Allicent scene but my dude just won’t stfu. 😅 I could never do reaction videos. I put my headphones on and turn the volume all the way up and enjoy the sounds. The sound design and soundtrack of this season have been superb. Especially Dragonstones sounds!
rhaenera doeant listen to daemon in books who supports rewarding all bastards with castles of enemies . i believe daemon speaks to rhaenera but disregards his counsel. he told her before she needs to know lowborn but always ignores counael. rhaenera and her father were bad rulers. rhaenys should have ruled.
Baela kinda sucks. She is so consumed with being a dragon rider that she would abandon those kids. I hope SheepStealer makes a meal of her and Nettles wanders out of some cave like “huh did someone just try to steal my dragon?!“. Sadly I don’t think we will see her …
Is the actor who is playing Oscar Tully the same that played Ollie in Game of Thrones? He looks so much like him. Also, I liked the scene where Oscar asks Daemon if he wants their armies or not? You could see the little smile on Daemon's face. I think he liked Oscar's show of guts.

Nice Chiodos shirt! Would you happen to also be Pierce the Veil fans. They're my favorite band 🙂
Sunfyre is dead according to Ser Cristin. He told Alicent that he was long in the dying.
Hue's mom was Sarah Targaryen
I understand alicent because rhaenyra this episode was so........... I too would be obsessed with her for 20 years
Tell me Ulf’s bar scene didn’t seem like a scene out of What We Do In The Shadows?!
Where is Jackie Daytona?!
He’s a dragon rider 120%
Watch Avengers Doomdays Teaser Trailer Announcement
Does Ser Rickard Thorne look familiar and could maybe play someone else in a SWars series??
I thought Baylon, but I need to see if he has that gravitas. He does have the look
It's Garp from the Live Action OnePiece
Team⚫️Black has Syrax, Caraxes, Vermax, Moondancer, Seasmoke, Vermithor, Silverwing, and if Rhaena claims Sheepstealer that makes 8 vs Team🟢Green Vhagar, Dreamfyre, Tessarion and Sunfyre who’s physically limited now for 3 strong 🐉🐉🐉 and 1 handicapped Dragon🐊
Can’t wait to see daeron
I think you can play as george rr martin in his biopic.. that would be cool
Season 1 Daemon is more bite than Aemond
I was getting squid game vibes with vermithor
Scenes of the dragons, Rhaenyra, Daemon and Aemond 😗😍
Scenes of Alicent 😒😴
Silverwing is funny
We are at war now Seattle up for battle
Corlys really went to get some MILK
7 dragons
My girls trying to enjoy the beautiful score by Djawadi in that Allicent scene but my dude just won’t stfu. 😅 I could never do reaction videos. I put my headphones on and turn the volume all the way up and enjoy the sounds. The sound design and soundtrack of this season have been superb. Especially Dragonstones sounds!
Man they should of just taken out vaghar.
rhaenera doeant listen to daemon in books who supports rewarding all bastards with castles of enemies . i believe daemon speaks to rhaenera but disregards his counsel. he told her before she needs to know lowborn but always ignores counael. rhaenera and her father were bad rulers. rhaenys should have ruled.
Team black will win now ❤
Not in the way you think tho
@@kev792 they have more dragons now, vhagar doesn't stand a chance... I see no reason why they shouldn't win
@@nikitasingh0412I agree. But reread my comment.
@@nikitasingh0412two dragons will betray rhaenyra I mean 2 dragon riders
Baela kinda sucks. She is so consumed with being a dragon rider that she would abandon those kids. I hope SheepStealer makes a meal of her and Nettles wanders out of some cave like “huh did someone just try to steal my dragon?!“. Sadly I don’t think we will see her …
You mean Rhaena lol
Is the actor who is playing Oscar Tully the same that played Ollie in Game of Thrones? He looks so much like him. Also, I liked the scene where Oscar asks Daemon if he wants their armies or not? You could see the little smile on Daemon's face. I think he liked Oscar's show of guts.
They look nothing alike… 😐
Vermithor didnt betrayed Rhaenyra,.. his rider did Hugh Hammer, because of his ambitions
True
STFU why you spoiling story for those who do not read books
I don't think those were eggs.I think that was more dragon.Shit but I could be wrong
