Cheers Darran. When I was looking into this I asked Horizon about taking up 2 bays. As you say, they just log the number plate's entry and exit, and handle fines. The landowner (e.g. ASDA) is in charge of actual parking rules etc. But if it's been working for you, could be another case of don't on anyone's nerves and nobody will mind 🤞

I am at the time of writing parked at the Falkirk wheel, Liam would love it here big time and it’s only £15 a night including water, showers and toilets as well as elson. There’s no EHU though so I am going to bag up my ecoflow delta (big and heavy) and go find a McDonald’s after joining a colleague in The UFO capital Bonny Bridge for take away (coffee will suffice at mcdees)…. Oh yeah Liam would freak out at the Scottish National Museum (tons about dinosaurs) and it’s free (7stories high with a roof top terrace where you take in the efinborough sky line!! Would make great content for your channel BUT be warned you may need to sell a kidney if you want to eat!

Then there’s NCIS LA, NCIS Hawaii, NCIS Sydney and of course original NCIS. Curse my autism!!!!! Same thing happened when I started Taekwondo literally could not stop training 5 nights a week (8 hours), until I’d competed internationally as a black belt full contact fighter. The same thing happened when I went t to night school for a maths gcse as an adult learner - been teaching maths 26 years now….!!!!!

Signal on 3 has all but disappeared. Noticed before we left the UK in the first week of September and it isn’t working when roaming in Europe so had to buy a local Spanish Vodafone SIM card for the van WiFi.
We have a Smarty (3) SIM and the signal is generally good but the download speed is pants. Tried the SIM in a phone handset and no better. They definitely seem to be throttling the download!
Too all you folk discussing poor internet speeds, I agree the services are piss poor. But this is by design. Sign you up and then throttle the heck out of your connection. ESPECIALLY VPN servers.. If you are considering signing a new contract I suggest adding your own terms TO the contract, of course it is perfectly acceptable to do this, it is after all a contract between two parties. You must stipulate, in the contract, if the service drops to an unacceptable level, a complaint is made. If there are repeated complaints with proof (low speed screenshots) and you declare the service is not acceptable then you are entitled to cancel the contract without any loss. IF they do not agree to the terms, it seems they know their service is sub-par. And therefore, do not sign with them !

We did Anglesey. Waste of energy going there. They make it difficult to even stop there. Not even anywhere for a motorhome in the day. Shame cos its nice there. Going through a town we seen a graffitied wall. It just said 'tension'. Understood it when we drove round and back out!
We just spent 2 months in Wales, Anglesey is quite pointless apart from one stunning beach, which had the Snowdonia mountain range on the horizon and a little lighthouse, Traeth Llanddwyn its called, we just paid for parking at the beach carpark.

Yeah Darren I use 3 and EE hot spots for running my smart TV tablet and phones .3 is usually ok on the phone but iffy on other kit .EE has always been superior for me with data SIM in their mobile wi if box....however has been buffering slightly lately corresponding with dodgy weather systems overhead oror helicopters - planes as Im near airport....
Loving rings of power. Lots of people sayinng it is rubish becasue it is not as good as the movies and kills some of the story but as a show to enjoy watching it is up there for me. I had to watch season 1 first to know what is going on and had to google some of the characters etc but I am really into it now

I’ve read on Trustpilot that many if not just all think it’s an automated parking scam (though granted, people probably only comment if they’ve had a bad experience). It sounds good in theory, but maybe read the small print?
I’ve had 3 for years and this last year the service has been rubbish. They tried to tell me it was because my phone was searching for Wi-Fi whilst out and about. I tried their suggestions to no avail. I’ve just left for that reason despite having a decent rolling monthly contract. No contract is good if the service is dire.
I’m full with you on that one mate, for me I use P4N and wildcamper to see if there if anything rural and after that I will use Google maps in satellite view as look around the rivers/canals and slowly work my way in toward the town. Hope this helps mate, you full time?
The app looks really good but it does say, vehicle up to large 4x4. So technically you’re in breach of the terms and conditions. You could get a ticket
Fair point, I’ll take that. I will say I’ve never seen anyone walking round checking any vehicles, it’s pretty much self run by the app and anpr camera, which is good and bad if you know what I mean lol

No worries Andrew 👍🏻 Ahhh yeah I should have probably said, sorry mate, so you can check on the horizon app and search for places on there just like Google maps but it only lists spaces to pay for. It’s not all Asda, some are still free to use without restrictions but many of them are moving towards this model, free for 2/3 hours then you pay which I don’t think is bad, are you gonna give this a good?

Yeah Darren I use 3 and EE hot spots for running my smart TV tablet and phones .3 is usually ok on the phone but iffy on other kit .EE has always been superior for me with data SIM in their mobile wi if box....however has been buffering slightly lately corresponding with dodgy weather systems overhead oror helicopters - planes as Im near airport....
Atmospherics can def cause issues.
Loving rings of power. Lots of people sayinng it is rubish becasue it is not as good as the movies and kills some of the story but as a show to enjoy watching it is up there for me. I had to watch season 1 first to know what is going on and had to google some of the characters etc but I am really into it now
Just checked out a trailer and it looks really good! Definitely adding that to the list, I like a show to be be able to stand on it own and be able to enjoy it so I’m fine with that, have you done game of thrones? I’m not gone near that yet, wondering if it’s worth it?

Great vlog as usual Daz. A question for you regarding the Horizon app. Everywhere I said I want to park its saying up to a large 4x4. This includes Asda at Bodmin. I take it that doesn't apply

I’ve read on Trustpilot that many if not just all think it’s an automated parking scam (though granted, people probably only comment if they’ve had a bad experience). It sounds good in theory, but maybe read the small print?
I’ve had 3 for years and this last year the service has been rubbish. They tried to tell me it was because my phone was searching for Wi-Fi whilst out and about. I tried their suggestions to no avail. I’ve just left for that reason despite having a decent rolling monthly contract. No contract is good if the service is dire.
I find urban parking easier than rural parking. I'm on the edge of London/Essex. What resources do you use to find scenic rural parking?
I’m full with you on that one mate, for me I use P4N and wildcamper to see if there if anything rural and after that I will use Google maps in satellite view as look around the rivers/canals and slowly work my way in toward the town. Hope this helps mate, you full time?

The app looks really good but it does say, vehicle up to large 4x4. So technically you’re in breach of the terms and conditions. You could get a ticket
Fair point, I’ll take that. I will say I’ve never seen anyone walking round checking any vehicles, it’s pretty much self run by the app and anpr camera, which is good and bad if you know what I mean lol

Hi. Thanks for the heads up about the Horizon Parking app. Can you park in all Asda car parks if you pay via the app, or how do you know? Is it just a sign somewhere in the car park or can you check online before you go? Cheers

Ahhh yeah I should have probably said, sorry mate, so you can check on the horizon app and search for places on there just like Google maps but it only lists spaces to pay for. It’s not all Asda, some are still free to use without restrictions but many of them are moving towards this model, free for 2/3 hours then you pay which I don’t think is bad, are you gonna give this a good?
@@TheUrbanMotorhome yeah thanks, we tour in our van for 6 months of the year (UK & Europe) and do wild camp for at least 3/4 of the time, so this'll be a help as overnighting at a supermarket (especially one with a cafe 😉) will be helpful.
