- I finally got a chance to drive the late-2000s upscale F-150, the Lincoln Mark LT. Sold for one generation only (in the US), they were the precursor to the Platinum and King Ranch editions we know now...TOTAL LUXURY!

I have this exact color and model with only 98k miles on it great condition and still a year and a half on the warranty. Aswell as apple car play dash installed and a bed cover and a nice subtle exhaust upgrade. I’d be interested in selling for around 11k let me know if your interested

That certainly didn’t help!! The Escalade EXT probably stole a bunch of sales as well.
I owned an F 150 of that era. Had it for 10 yrs. Best truck I ever had. Engine went at 275 (oil pump)
I also owned a 2010 Lincoln Navigator. Way better interior appointment than an Escalade.
I think the Mark Lt failed because it was basically an F 150 with Lincoln badges. Still a beautiful truck.
It really was just fancy badges on the F series. I also drove the Town Car, dropping that video shortly. I much preferred it...which was surprising! I guess 275 isn’t terrible for an engine...although in kms that’s a lot less.
@@DougsCars Yes. I was dissapointed. I wanted to do the oil pump but they are front mounted, timing chain covers, tensionners, cam phasers etc. I sold it for parts. Was a great truck. Amazing interior. I liked it better than my Taco.

Same with the Escalade EXT but Silverado High Country replaced That
Also instead of putting the brand to the Ford trucks they created the new Platinum version that basically will be compared to the Mark LT
Good video- thanks. The Mark LT largely failed due to the price- $50K for a pickup today is cheap, but in 2006 that was a lot of dough. A couple of notes: The interior wood is real. On the radio/hvac controls, you can see how thick it is compared to an F150. The truck shown has 18" wheels, but 20" would become available in during the late 2006 model year. The early 2006 had rectangular fog lamps, late 2006-2008 had round fog lamps. Interior wise, the 2006 had a two-tone leather steering wheel, while 2007-2008 was half wood and half leather. The embossed Lincoln star on the 2006 seats became a chrome emblem in 2007-2008. 2006 was the best selling year and sales declined rapidly. I have a late production 2008, and I believe only about 6000 were made that year. It's a great truck with a bad engine- this version of the 5.4 Triton V8 is notorious for cam phaser/timing chain issues. If you're shopping for one, pay close attention to that and the service records. If the oil is changed regularly, it helps tremendously.

It would have sold better if they put the 6.2 motor in it and had a different looking interior rather then just a overly expensive rebadged F-150. Sounds great but is gutless and like you said plagued with unnecessary issues.

Thing is if you want a truck nobody wants to be saying Lincoln and also it’s just the same truck slightly different trim and grille doesn’t at all justify the price jolt, it’s a nice truck don’t get me wrong but people prefer that ford name for trucks
Is this vehicle available for purchase? I currently own a 2006 model with @250,000 miles and would like to upgrade...Best truck I have ever owned...

You were right on regarding engine challenges with timing engineering...Mine is currently in need of rebuild and I need to decide to invest in refreshing or looking for replacement...250,000 miles isn't bad...LOL
@@danphillippe746 250k is not bad at all…my ‘06 Land Rover has a Ford-derived 4.4L V8 with 230k, and it idles like in those old Lexus commercials. Those were good vehicles!
Hey Doug, I love these! I saw a real nice example (under 85k miles) for around $15k. Would you recommend one for using as a daily driver as well?
Wow at that price I need to sell mine!! That’s a lot…but you get a lot of car. I’ve been dailying mine (I work from home, so no commute) for a couple of weeks now, and it’s great for that.
@@DougsCars they’re really up there in terms of price nowadays. You can’t find a low mileage one for under that price around me or anywhere really
I paid less than 1/3rd of that for this one in May! Just drove it up to Virginia and back.
@@DougsCars There’s 3 within the 120 mile radius from Phoenix to Tucson (I’m in Phoenix), all over 100k miles and the cheapest one is being sold for $8.9k. It has 188,000 miles and it looks like someone got hungry and started gnawing at the drivers seat and console. I guess these people were watching your video 🤔
@@sethboooooi23245 Ha, mine was one (known to me) owner, and garaged from new!! Still worth more to me than that…but if someone showed up with $15k…I’d think long and hard about it.
They should make an option for the same grille on things like a platinum or limited. I love the grilles on these things.
I do have to say though, i have a 2018 f150 xlt and the grille on my truck is damn sexy. Ford has never failed with front ends.
This guys is great but you can tell that he’s not involved in the truck community lmao. Those Lincoln trucks didn’t sell because truck guys swear by tradition. Traditionally Lincoln has never sold trucks, and most hillbillies don’t even know that Ford owns Lincoln. So when this truck hit the market everyone thought it was an unreliable pos bc the average consumer didn’t know that it was a Ford. Fast forward 10 years and everyone loves the super luxury versions of trucks that come from Ford and Chevy. Truck consumers want to buy Trucks from the big names that have been selling them for 100 plus years. I.e: Toyota, Ford, and Chevy. Truck owners are very superstitious. This truck didn’t sell well only because it’s a Lincoln.

I had an f150 of this same generation because you can see Lincoln stuck their badges on it and make it a little nicer inside and apart from that its the exact same as an f150

Looks really good machine mate. Always think a pick up with out 4x4 is no use. We don't really have truck's here without 4x4. Nice to see this did have 4x4 think having that mechanical issues it would probably put customers off.
Absolute tons of 2wd pickups here; warm climates don’t need it for snow, and businesses can pay less money for a vehicle that won’t ever be used offroad, instead for deliveries/carpenters/etc. The engine issues are pretty extensive and expensive though. Looked it up and this one is still worth about $15,000 though.
There's actually 2 gens of the Lincoln Mark LT.
I only know of the Blackwood and this one?
@@DougsCars there’s actually a second generation Mark LT that only exists in Mexico; It is based off the 12th generation F150

I want to get one, I'm in México, Would you consider it to be a reliable pick up for work?? Or it breaks a lot?
My dad has one. They're very reliable; but I have heard that the engine is susceptible to clogging up if they aren't meticulously maintained and serviced. If that happens, there's no fixing the problem - you have to replace the engine.
Hey i just bought an ‘06 model 5.4, do u know if it requires premium gas or is unleaded ok.
I’m fairly certain they take regular unleaded.
I have a 2007 with 80K on it the exact same truck color and interior as the one you have also with aftermarket duels I thought you stole my truck for a second. Lol it’s a great truck and I recommend one to anyone who wants a great looking classy all round 4x4. Plus they are rare so people always ask me that’s a Lincoln and I’m like yes it is!

I’ve heard the 5.4 tri valve has issues. But I’ve never owned one…so just look for the best service history you can. Good luck!

They made a better pickup, but it still didn’t sell well.
Mine is a eggshell color with real gold leaf emblems and it has 170k miles on it and I got it for 10k

LINCOLN is my favorite brand, and the LT is one of the best looking truck's I've ever seen. And it sound's natural and powerfull ,ten-times besser, as regular.Thank's a lot for your presentation!
I had an ‘07 but a little different color than the one your showing. Mine was vivid red metallic. I loved it! 2007 had some changes that brought it more to the forte and were not available on f-150 such as the Uber comfortable Nudo leather seats.
That sounds like a good color!

I think a big issue was the Lariat interior was almost exactly the same (minus the seating piping and cluster) as this and option wise they were clones.
The exterior has more to differentiate the two.
The 5.4 3v is failure prone even when taken care of, I just finished repairing my 2004 F150 both phasers and tensioners had failed, chains and guides would have been still serviceable but when you're that deep it's not worth the risk. The later models were more reliable especially the late 2008 to 2010 Model years.
Oooof I bet that was expensive. Good to know the later ones were better, however...
@@DougsCars About 2,000 Canadian in parts, did the work myself at a friend's house.
All new timing chains, ratcheting metal tensioners to prevent them from failing, guides, phasers, actuators and roller followers because they are known to fail and fallout.
It's been noisy since the day I bought it 14 years ago but not anymore, peace and quiet now especially on startup where they commonly chatter.

Relatively speaking no as long as you have a mechanical apptitude, tools and a bit of time. One of my power steering bolts decided to break off which added a couple of hours on mine.

Yea these 5.4 triton engines sound sooooo niceeeee but sadly the only problem on theses is the spark plugs sadly

Awesome to see one of these! My dad had one in this color and used it for work for quite a while. We loved it! Thought this may have been his cause this is in VA but 80k miles plus an in shape interior and exterior made it quite clear it wasn't (compared to our beat up in and outside with 210k miles) is there any way I can reach out to the owner of this one? Unless its you, cause if so I uhh... missed that I guess lol.

there is one for sale near me, i want a good highway, hockey hauling truck. I do not know much about these trucks, & this video was very helpful. Looks like its excactly what i want😀
also if my lawn care truck breaks down, i need a back up truck while the mowing truck is being fixed😄
