They would of love to see a vibrant white Lincoln Town Car with black racing stripes going around their track. It was great seeing your Lincoln Town Car actually driving around a real race track. Unheard of...Thumbs up on that...
I went to quite a few NASCAR races at Richmond back in the 1980's and 1990's. During one race, I walked a full lap around the track as close to the fence as I could. It was extremely loud, and I was getting pelted by small pieces of tires that made their way through the fence. When I saw all of the chunks of tires on the track, I could understand why they need to change tires so often. Around 2007, I was a passenger in a car driven by a professional driver at Daytona. The turns at Daytona are banked at 31 degrees, and at 130 miles per hour in the turns, you really feel the G-forces. We were going 160 miles per hour down the backstretch. Did the pit crew at Richmond change all four tires and fill the gas tank on the Town Car in under 15 seconds? LOL
I went to a bunch in the 90s! And yes it is super loud. Always brought my shooting ear muffs with me. The smell of hot rubber and hydrocarbons… I need to go around a track at real speed sometime…
I can remember having tickets for a NASCAR race at Richmond in February of circa 1987, and it had to be postponed due to snow. They eventually moved the first Richmond race of the year to March or April.
@ JR CARS-- There are two 1/2 mile NASCAR tracks, Martinsville Speedway, and Bristol Motor Speedway. They call Bristol the "paperclip," as that is how it is shaped. The drivers constantly hit the gas, then hit the brakes in the turns. They are hitting the brakes at least twice in every lap. I prefer the super speedways such as Daytona and Talladega, where they can get up to 200 mph. I have been to many races at Daytona, and have stood next to the fence, and the cars are just on the other side of the fence, going nearly 200 mph. It is so loud, you definitely need ear protection. One lap at Daytona is 2.5 miles, and each turn is banked at 31 degrees to keep the cars on the track at a high rate of speed. I have walked around one lap at Daytona on the apron, and it is unreal at how steep the turns are. It doesn't look nearly as steep when you watch the race on tv. One lap at Talladega is 2.66 miles.
Awesome experience. I have never heard of this. Very cool. I need to bring my Marauder there 👍👍👍
Yes yes yes!!
Nobody:
Doug: “Let’s take a town car on a track!”

Very cool! 😎
So much fun!

Snow racing might've been fun!
That was awesome!!! Next stop is the drag strip??
Good thought, I’ve never done that before.
What was your best lap time?
Slow and luxurious.
@@DougsCars 😂😉🤣🤫
That's not a full size track, is it? I can't imagine going around that at 175!
It’s medium; not a short track like Bristol, and not a superspeedway like Talladega.
@ JR CARS-- Richmond is now a 3/4 mile track. Back in the early 1980's, it was a small 1/2 mile track.
@@franknew9001 I must have only seen the superspeedways on TV. It's hard to believe anyone raced on a 3/4 mile track, let alone 1/2 mile.
