    Ahh! Freddie’s gorgeous voice and the piano and guitar dance while the bass and drums provide the backbone. Perfection. Such an underrated treasure! ❤

    Brian used a 1930s Hallfredh acoustic guitar that he changed it by taking off the original bridge and putting a hardwood bridge on amongst other things to get a sound like a sitar.

    You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park 1976. Performed before it was recorded and this particular one is Just Freddie and the piano (band went on a break during the concert) I think it's spectacular and it turned me into the obsessed fan that I am.

    Queen's early music is often quite complex. I'd like to see what you think of The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke from Queen II.

    White Queen is a hidden gem in the Queen's huge live repertoire. Pls, check out the Dragon Attack at Montreal 81.

    Freddie & Brian were star crossed musical partners....their souls collide in their best work. Add Roger and his powerful additions to the band. Their catalog is a reason to live.

      Let’s not forget Deaky, John Deacon, on bass guitar. So shy, yet he wrote several of Queen’ major hits!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤❤❤😊😊😊

    Freddie manges to put such passion into this lyrically simple song written by Brian May about a girl he really liked, but was too shy and hesitant to approach, and watched longingly from afar. (Nowadays, it comes across as a little stalkery, but back in the 70s it would have been regarded as romantic) Then by the time he'd worked up the nerve to ask her out, she was already with somebody else.
    The duet (or should I say duel?) between Brian on guitar and Freddie on piano is epic! I can't tell you how many times I've watched this performance, and it still sends shivers down my spine...

    This is my favorite performance of this beautiful song written by Brian May, lead guitarist. Freddie’s vocals are pristine and the guitar /piano solo is mesmerizing. Thanks for reacting to this song. For another early Queen song (and something entirely different) please consider reacting to Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974.

    Brian May penned this beauty about a girl he had a crush on in his college Biology class! Lacking courage to approach her until it was too late. “So sad it ends .. as it began”. Nobody can convey emotion like Freddie. The piano & guitar are mystical and magical. 🧝🏻‍♀️👑🌟

    One thing you can count on with Queen is a surprise,not to mention an excellent performance. Another great live is ‘Save Me’ from Montreal ‘81.

    Check out “Save Me” from Queen’s 1981 live performance in Montreal. Pay close attention to who is playing each instrument and when they play it. There are so, so many Queen songs both studio and live to react to. One of my favorite live performances is “Who Wants To Live Forever” in Budapest 1986.

    Thanks, B. A great live performance, featuring the interplay between Freddie & Brian (and also the great drums & bass...).. this a BAND... not just "Freddie & the guys"... (BTW, Brian wrote this... not featured enough on the video, IMHO) would like to see more of your thoughtful reactions...

    Hi. Have watched this song a gazillion times and still the goosebumps start about 30 seconds in. I have 5 top Queen songs but if you know any Queen fans you realize that’s quite a feat. If you continue with this band you will be amazed how many of us start climbing up out of the rabbit hole to respond. Good luck and have fun 😂✌🏼

    And there is a video that provides a unique sound to Freddie (mostly lower register) but I would have to say the importance of the song is more in the lyric and visual than the specific musical instuments. It was the 2nd last video Freddie ever did and he's dressed as the MC gathering mystical elements from the hazy atmosphere formulating the story he's about to teach the audience with. It is about his medical treatments and their effect (xray light, symbolic centrifuge, good days bad days, foggy brain, not up to par dimished state, anticipation, feeling beat up, exhausted) and transformation and how society treats the sick. His character role-plays or interacts with the band and specifically with Roger it's obvious to me he's acknowledging their frustration with Freddie's condition and how he got there. Freddie takes full responsibility and he too is mad - angry and mad - losing his marbles so to speak. He's gone too far to return to safety. He's content and will enjoy watching the band from a distance or different state of existence. It's very cathartic.
    The opening lines are spectacular!
    *When the outside temperature rises.*
    *And the meaning is oh so clear*
    *1,001 yellow daffodils begin to dance in front of you* .... *Oh dear* !!!
    *Are they trying to tell you something?*
    .... if the outside temperature is NOT changing what do you think is happening to your body?
    .... flowers don't dance but time lapse photography of them growing can make it appear as if they are. If they're in front of you, could you be laying on your back under this growth???
    *I'm Going Slightly Mad*
    My all time favorite Queen music video.

    Brian always says that his solos are just a continuation of the singers verse. But, in this piece.. both Freddie and Brian are playing off each other… incredible! BTW.. the ‘drummer’ is Roger Taylor.. an amazing singer/songwriter/drummer!! Thanks for your insight!

    The live performances of Bo Rhap hasn't the start - and the third part is a tape-recorded version where the band is at the behind - and it ends in Fireworks - where the band enters the scene again.

    I suggest you review the song, "Liar" from their concert at the Rainbow Theatre in London, 1974 - th-cam.com/video/FK9YSri2xNQ/w-d-xo.html. It is one of their earlier song which provides a glimpse into the musical experimentation for which Queen would become famous. Plus I love the extended solo by bassist John Deacon. Actually, each member of Queen gets to showcase their solo talents on this one - Roger Taylor on drums, Brian May lead guitar, as I mentioned, Deacy on bass, and of course, Freddie's singing.

    To do something a little different with Bo Rhap, do a 3 part (or song) series. Start out with March of the Black Queen lyric video. It's off their 2nd album and is Bo Rhap before there was a Bo Rhap. Then do Bo Rhap (either live - Montreal & Budapest are good - or the official video).Then finish off with Inuendo. It's often called baby Bo Rhap & is on their last studio album (Inuendo) before Freddie died.
    It's fascinating to listen to their early albums and hear the beginnings of the "Queen sound" and how it evolved & influenced their "hits". While I love the well known songs, my favorites off each album are the obscure songs that most people pass over.

      Great choice! But personally, I much prefer Queen’s “Who Wants To Live Together” in Budapest. It’s not better…it’s just different, as Freddie loved us, his fans, to interpret Queen songs for ourselves.😊✌🏻💖🌸💞

    FREDDIE MERCURY would be 77 had he lived past 45. There are a lot of younger people who have not heard Bohemian Rapsody. You would be surprised how many reactors have never heard QUEEN until someone suggested it. KEEP GOING DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE 🕳 😊 RIP FREDDIE MERCURY 11/24/1991 1946-1991 ❤❤❤

    If you want to see a great BoRap live that Montreal concert is the best.

    I like their well known songs. But for me. They are the least interesting, & don't begin to display just how eclectic they were. Nor how talented they all had to be. To cover such a wide range of styles with ease, & excellence. Did you know that on almost every album. Roger & Brian, sing lead on at least one track per album. Also. If you listen to the studio tracks, especially on their first three albums. Harmonies aside. You will find them interchanging vocals. within the songs themselves. Generally everyone expects to hear Fred. So. That's all they do hear. To hear Brian. Checkout the studio versions of. Sleeping on the sidewalk, Good Company, or 39. To hear Roger. Try Tenement Funster, or Loser in the End. For early Queen with a much harder edge. Try liar, Ogre Battle, Flick of the wrist, Death on Two Legs, Stone Cold Crazy, & the studio track entitled...The March of the Black Queen.

    Loved this reaction to White Queen, one of my favorites. Another is a real banger written by Roger Taylor on their first album, Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll. Live at the Rainbow, March 1974. It was filmed in 16mm combined optical print which gives it a whole different vibe. The band is glued together at one point which gets me every time. th-cam.com/video/1VhJ_Oh9p-8/w-d-xo.html

    Try Live Aid, Queen 1985

  • @KitsyX
    @KitsyX 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bohemian Rhapsody was never fully played live, if I remember correctly... Unless you count when it was done with the cast of We Will Rock You, the musical... That wasn't with Freddie though, since he had died by then... Often live I think they would play a recording of the middle section, then come back live at the end... Or maybe they'd stop just before the second section starts... I think that's what they did at the Live Aid concert, going into Radio Ga Ga or something... Queen are often better live, but for Bohemian Rhapsody I probably would opt for the studio/music video version if you're introducing someone to it... Oh well ^_^;;
