"Turn to Stone", by Jeff Lynne of ELO, was originally recorded in 1977, and was the first track on the band's "Out of the Blue" album. It reached no. 18 in the UK, no. 13 in the U.S., and no. 9 in Canada. Lynne composed the tune in Switzerland during a two week writing spree. The Moog bass line was played by Lynne.

As everyone else has already posted - UNBELIEVABLE cover. You guys are always a blast to see.
We really appreciate it...thanks so much!
‘magical disappearing/reappearing hat’. Hahaha! Great cover, performed perfectly. Thank you, Russ and Under the Sun.
I had to add that at the end. While I was editing the video I thought, "Oh shit, sometimes I'm wearing a hat, other times I'm not". Best to make something funny out of it. Thanks for the kind words!
This video is an inspiration to aging, neighbourhood dadbands the world over. Gentlemen, I salute you.
Thanks so much! BTW, if we reach 10,000 views we all get a free AARP membership!
Hot diggity dang! One of the most underrated hits in the ELO catalogue and probably one of the most challenging to recreate. You boys nailed it, kept the energy and momentum of the original and added some nice vocal harmonies and that Beatlesque coda! As a huge ELO fan, I thank you all!
Thanks, Peter! I had a feeling you'd appreciate this one!
Excellent.
Thanks Mark!
Please relive all ELO's greatest hits! It's a treasure that never should be forgotten.
Thanks Jan! Good stuff, indeed!
Awesome cover !!!
Thanks!
Very good ☮️
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome cover! This must have been challenging song to do especially the harmonies as most ELO songs are but you nailed it
So nice of you to say so! Yeah, it was a little tough.
Awesome job on the video! We LOVE Under The Sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you much, Tim!
great harmonies
Appreciate it, Brandon!
Brilliant! Love the Beatlesque 'Day in a life ending' you ended on an E flat chord, ''Day in the life ends on E major. More please!
Thanks Matt. Yep, we were wondering when someone would pick up on that.
100% better than the original 🙌🔥
Thank you very much!
Good job! This sounds awesome! ELO is one of my favorites.
Thanks Patty!
Good job! I can’t wait for your big break!
Thanks John!
Best cover ever for this song. I really liked how you made costume, hair and make up changes while playing guitars, bass and keyboard.
Thanks Andy......smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors!

Thanks Shawn!
tres bonne reprise de "turn to stone" !!
Thank you!
All this time I thought you were a guitarist who drummed! Guess I was wrong lol. Great cover!
LOL...thanks Sy!
Russ, I was wondering how often you hear from any of the artists that you've covered? They must be impressed.
Hi Mark. Actually, I've not heard a word from any of the artists. "Turn to Stone" has been shared on an ELO Facebook fan page, and a friend of mine is a Facebook friend with one of the writers of one of the tunes (can't remember which one), and I know he shared it with him, but I haven't heard what his reaction was. My acoustic version of "Let it Ride" was shared on Randy Bachman's Facebook page, and Randy liked it, but didn't comment.
@@russwilloughby501 Sooner or later, you're going to hear from some of them. Your work is my favorite music 'go-to' and I love my new sound system.
Tell me...How does it feel to turn on a 100 mph fastball and knock it out of the park? Wow.
LOL...thanks Mark, I appreciate that!
