Thank you so much for this video. I was trying to figure out how to make courting to make cross Stitch thread hoppers. And you video made it easy without buying any tools!
I have tried to cord embroidery thread for my entire life and never could figure it out. This video was clear and very easy to follow and I'm happy to report I am putting a corded ribbon on a tiny package this evening to finish up a stocking! Thank you for the excellent video.
I would like to use this for finishing a Christmas ornament. I want it fairly substantially. How many strands until it gets too hard to do? Great video!!!!
You'll have to experiment. It also depends on how long you need the cording. The shorter the cording the smaller number of threads you need. You can try using 6 strands to see if that's thick enough and go from there. Thanks for watching :)
Thank you for this video! I am finishing a Christmas stocking and it gives 2 colors and I was wondering if that meant the area corded would be 4 strands?
Does it specify how many strands per color? If it does then the total number of strands will be determined by that on the chart. What stocking are you working on?
Great question. I haven't made a kit that included a light kit yet! I should probably add that to my video ideas list! If you need more help with it, join my FB group. Depends on the kit. If you look in the chart, it will tell you how many strands to use and how long they need to be. It will also say in the instructions how many strands of what color you need. I also like to make my cording longer than recommended in the instructions to have more to play with.
For this video, I used 2 strands of black and 2 strands of pink. For thinner cording, use 1 strand of each color. For thicker cording, use more strands per color.

When I tried to make sense of the instructions it got me very, very confused.
I had several people ask about making cording and with research, found very little video tutorials on the subject. Glad it was helpful!
Helpful, thanks

How many strands did you use here?
I think I used 2 strands of black and 2 strands of white. So the cording is made up of 8 strands when finished.
How do you put the light kit in the Christmas Tree Surprise stocking?

How many strands of floss do you start with off using just one color. Finishing my First Bucilla kit, a Christmas stocking

Mine keeps unraveling
Make sure one end is secure enough so you can get a tight twist otherwise it won't twist right. Keep practicing!
Thank you so much, the written instructions made no sense
I agree; sometimes the written instructions are lacking and I find a visual example to be much more effective. Thank you for watching!
