It's actually not surprising because the word "Biggest" in this case is not the correct word. The correct word(s) should be "Most Profitable". For example, Apple is by no means anywhere close to being the biggest company in the US in terms of floor space or employees, nor even in product offerings, however, in terms of making money, they practically print it themselves. In Italy, I imagine because the country imports so much energy, a home grown energy company can charge just as much as the import cost, thus they make boat loads of profit and top the inappropriately named list.

Enel bought Chilectra though so they have all their assets. Well, more exactly, Enel bought the Spanish company Endesa, which had assets in all of South America (including) Chilectra in Chile), and the subsidiary of Endesa which controlled those assets was Enersis, headquartered in Chile (the company was listed in the Chilean stock market). But in 2016 Enel decided to split up Enersis in two companies: Enel Chile and Enel Americas (with operations in Peru, Brasil, Colombia and Argentina). Both companies were more or less of the same size at the time, because the Chilean assets were very good and the market share of Enel in the rest of South America wasn't as big. In 2019 they merged Enel Green Power Chile (which was controlled by Enel since before they bought Endesa) and Enel Chile. They did the same with Enel Americas and Enel Green Power Latin America. The highest is Mont Blank peak from Alp Mountains. The Decebal sculpture is actually a cliff, not a mountain. The highest peak in romania is Peak Moldoveanu-3544m, not even the highest from Carpathian Arch. These are facts!. Why would you spread these lies? From the Philippines here. SM Investments has its fingers in a LOT of pies. They're involved in everything from retail (malls as well as the local franchises of certain international brands), banking & finance (one of the biggest banks in the country), real estate (mostly in high-rise condos), and god knows what else.
Falabella sells from clothes to computers. Is part of Solari Group, that owns Tottus (Supermarket) and Sodimac (Hardware Store). ENEL is the main electricity provider in Chile.
Inditex in Spain owns Zara, wose owner, Amancio Ortega has been one of the richest people until the last years (maybe top 5, but now on the top 20 or a bit higher idk)

For me, it's hard to believe that Banco Provincial is Venezuela's largest company. Even in the banking industry, another companies like Banesco or Mercantil seem to be bigger. They are not only in Venezuela, but also in Panama, Dominican Republic and the US. Although PDVSA, which is the state-owned oil company, has been in decline for several years, it still is a pretty large company. And Empresas Polar, which is essentially a food company, is the largest private company. It's products like the harina PAN are now spreading throughout the globe.
I think it should be focused on individual companies rather than corporation owning multiple companies. For example you can't sum up Tesla, Boring and Spacex net worth to show it one company.

We have Banco Nacional, one of the largest banks in Central America, Grupo ICE a huge state owned energy company, Florida ice and farm a brewery and drinks company, Dos Pinos a large milk processor that is in all kinds of food now, all larger than Davivienda.
I think, but I'm not sure, corporación Davivienda is a Colombian company, branch of Banco Davivienda (from Colombia) so I don't know if it should be there as a Costa Rican company, but it is a nice video
The Dutch royal family has become very rich in part thanks to 'Royal' Dutch Shell. Queen Beatrix's mother, for example, owned 25% of the Shell shares. When Beatrix became queen, there was a lot of criticism, as a result of which Beatrix would lower her Shell shares to the current 5%. The remaining 20% has been chopped into smaller pieces and invested in other stocks. The current King Willem Alexander says he has no Shell shares. The fact is, the Dutch Royal family still has 5% shares in Shell.

Não fazia a mínima ideia que a a EDP era de Portugal! A EDP é a companhia concessionária de luz na minha cidade aqui no Brasil!
A Enel q é outra comum no Brasil é italiana.
Just as today Microsoft replaced apple as the U.S. biggest company
Really?!?!
It keeps switching between a few major companies right?
I as a german was shocked or rather confused that VolksWagen isn't number one here
Volkswagen is everywhere in China, although it is expensive
In Poland the largest companies are Orlen (oil company, you may know them from F1) and CD Project Red, creator of The Witcher and Cyberpunk games
Orlen, yes. But CDP is far behind both Orlen and PKO. CDP has higher price per share, but fewer of them in total.
Tuga, parabéns por mais um excelente vídeo, abraços
pra vcs é "português" ou "deuses"
Just an additional point:
Actually the data used to find market cap is quite complex, where in some instances, some companies owned by subsidiaries aren't counted in the parent company. If we take into account those, then Tata Group is way bigger than Reliance in India.
5:13 fun fact: Dacia is a car brand in romania, but also old day Romania(in the time of the Roman empire) romania was actually called Dacia, the romans named it romania after they killed the Dacian king(Decebal, which there is a mountain with his face in it in Romania, which is also the most beautiful and highest mountain in Europe)
Interesting
"the romans named it Romania after they etc etc" 🤣 from where did you get this nonsense? Romans never called this land Romania. The name is given by the people of this land wich call themselves "români" or "rumâni" in old romanian. Romans have never called this land Romania.
Secondly " highest mountain in Europa"?? Really? The highest is Mont Blank peak from Alp Mountains. The Decebal sculpture is actually a cliff, not a mountain. The highest peak in romania is Peak Moldoveanu-3544m, not even the highest from Carpathian Arch. These are facts!. Why would you spread these lies? There are people who will believe your "informations" are real.

For those who want to know Greenlands 🇬🇱 largest company: Royal Greenland™.
They produce seafood.
Great Video by General Knowledge to Say, Theres other Videos that you can make.
Countries economic diversity, would be more interesting.
4:44 I doubt that SAP writes PHP code. ABAP would be more realistic.
yeahk, ABAP and java
Having a fossil fuel and mining company as the biggest is depressing
Well right now the biggest from Finland is Kone if you count by market value and i would say counting it by market value is prolly the right way
I thought Fortum was the biggest Finnish company. Perhaps it is if you count in all variables.
@@staropramen478 fortum is big but not the biggest by market value.
@@nuuttiasplund5873 Yeah I meant when you count all the variables like revenue, net income, assets and market value.

I think the netherland is a really intresting case with RD Shell (Royal Dutch Shell) losing its top position due to a court case where they are blamed for contribiuting to climate change. meanwhile ASML (a company that makes chip manufacuring machines) has grown with the pandamic and now has orders to fill the next 15 years.
well explained 👍
ooooh im chilean and can confirm about whats said about falabella, its a chain of department stores, kinda. Earlier this year i found out that they also had stores in other countries so tbh i get that it could be a big company, but i thought the biggest company was gonna be something related to copper/mineral extraction and distribution, so i was surprised. Ive heard the name "enel" but idrk what they do. good video!!

No its read as SM Investments Corporation
Not just investment corporation
From the Philippines here. SM Investments has its fingers in a LOT of pies. They're involved in everything from retail (malls as well as the local franchises of certain international brands), banking & finance (one of the biggest banks in the country), real estate (mostly in high-rise condos), and god knows what else.
Can you do a video about the ten oldest companies in the world?
Petrobras extracts the feedstock of petroleum, then send to US to refine, and buy it back more expensive... Brazilian Stonks
Intresting to see that U.Ks biggest company is British/Swedish
UK is british
Unless it's HSBC - in which case is it really Chinese?
it would of been the mining or steel industry in the 70s and 80s.
@@trollinape2697 I know that, but Google calls it British/Swedish, not UK/Swedish
Falabella sells from clothes to computers. Is part of Solari Group, that owns Tottus (Supermarket) and Sodimac (Hardware Store).
ENEL is the main electricity provider in Chile.
Need to sort out your microphone. Too much puh and buh! Great video as always though
Inditex in Spain owns Zara, wose owner, Amancio Ortega has been one of the richest people until the last years (maybe top 5, but now on the top 20 or a bit higher idk)
Good info.
Relly for dutch, ASML should be the biggest?
Nice list of countries' biggest companies.

The Caribbean may be so blank because so much of the Caribbean is a tourist-based economy, which tends towards lots of smaller economic enterprises rather than larger corporations. Additionally, there are relatively few financial index trading companies based in the area; most are expat companies with a representation in the region, like e.g. Royal Bank of Canada.
Todays Updates, Microsoft is biggest company in the world
Tata is the biggest company in India with $356.65 billion Reliance worth is $250 billion something 👍well, nice video

Mercado Libre is like Amazon, Alibaba and eBay.
The US's largest company is no longer Apple as of today, Microsoft just overtook it
Nov 1 is tomorrow, by cyber weekend (after Thanksgiving , Black Friday to cyber Monday) , Apple's CEO Tim Cook will make sure Apple is back at number 1
Royal Dutch Shell was a British/Dutch company. On the map it is placed as the largest company in the Netherlands, however they have now moved their headquarters and registration to the UK and removed the “Royal Dutch” from their name.
You are right, but if you look at the 'new' map you see ASML because of that reason.
I think that in Brazil’s is actually still Petrobras

For me, it's hard to believe that Banco Provincial is Venezuela's largest company. Even in the banking industry, another companies like Banesco or Mercantil seem to be bigger. They are not only in Venezuela, but also in Panama, Dominican Republic and the US.
Although PDVSA, which is the state-owned oil company, has been in decline for several years, it still is a pretty large company. And Empresas Polar, which is essentially a food company, is the largest private company. It's products like the harina PAN are now spreading throughout the globe.
Back to 2010, Brazil´s Petrobras, an State-Run oil company, was world 7º biggest company.
Today Brazil don´t have any company at top #150
do states next

I like ASML, but I have no clue how they are bigger than shell. Or how either company is bigger than Unilever
Both Shell and Unilever are now British, that's why..

The Indian company from my ideology should be Tata because it's the counly spreaded worldwide in each continennt
It's about companies not group
I think it should be focused on individual companies rather than corporation owning multiple companies. For example you can't sum up Tesla, Boring and Spacex net worth to show it one company.
Bruh, Estonia keeps getting the short end of the stick in these videos, not even mentioned in the companies section, but worst of all, doesnt even exist in the updated map smh
How can they miss the existence of an ENTIRE COUNTRY LOL

In Costa Rica Davivienda is not even close to being the largest company. We have Banco Nacional, one of the largest banks in Central America, Grupo ICE a huge state owned energy company, Florida ice and farm a brewery and drinks company, Dos Pinos a large milk processor that is in all kinds of food now, all larger than Davivienda.
Wish you had some more info on Saudi Aramco as its one of if not the most valuable company.
Why leave out Belgium??
I’m a little shock that TAP isn’t Portugal’s largest company. A country based of Tourism, and having a super affordable and great company like TAP is, I thought it was certain that TAP was going to be the one.
I was rather shocked to learn that Germany's largest company is not the VW Group :o
i'm suprised A.P. Møller - Mærsk isn't the biggest in Denmark. (it's a giant shipping firm which orperates in 130 contries) with a revenue of almost 40B USD
it is the biggest Danish company by revenue at least, but Novo is the biggest by market cap.
