I'm a Japanese man passing by whose hobby is composing classical music. Hello. What surprised me was that the most recent song I uploaded had exactly the same instrumentation. And it's a very good song. I can't play the piano, so it's a decoration for the orchestra, but this is the main instrument. “Passion” was good . thank you very much.
String sections can stagger bowing to accomplish long held notes. An individual player would have a harder time but a section can do this no problem. They do it all the time. 👍
Oh you mean the phrase marking? That’s just there to show phrasing. The performers can figure out the bowing if it were to be performed live. I wouldn’t expect it to be one bow stroke and a string player wouldn’t likely read it that way.
@@HollandAlbright A good rule of thumb for string bowing is two bows per measure. Another little strings thing would be to write those 8th note chords as quarters with a legato and staccato marking. That’s more likely to get real string players to produce the sound you’re looking for. Amazing piece though.
Another amazing track for 2024. This made me feel somber, melancholy, and peace at the same time.
Thank you! I hope it channeled those feelings in a good way :)
What I am discovering more and more is how emotionally evocative your music is! ❤
Thanks, Robbie. Lately I think my music has become a lot more emotionally charged.
I almost got excited when I thought a harpsichord was coming in and then I realised it was the harp! :)
Just lovely!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)
An utterly gorgeous piece Holland! I love the different textures you get throughout it while still keeping it slow and solemn.
Thanks so much, Joshua! :)

2:52 - to perform such a long legato in this tempo, you need hundred meters bow......

What sound library do you use for the audio playback?
For this one, Cinematic Studio Strings, Kontakt Factory Library Harp, and Pianoteq.
I could not hear the harp. Was it muted in the final arrangement?
@@Pixelsplasher it’s not muted, but it is quiet and sort of blends in underneath.
Je m'ennuie comme pas possible.

Not all music is for everyone. 🤷♂️ Generally, it’s a good practice to refrain from saying impolite things to strangers on the internet.
