      You’re not wrong!! The FG seemed like more of a linear torqued rocket-ship, made to feel like it has very long legs!! The HSV seemed to be more like a snarling angry beast hunting on the plains of Africa, that would chew up and spit out the foolhardy!! For me, i do like linear torque across a rev range, with that feeling of sublimeness. I think that I would get a bit bored with it though and it would be cool to have both of them in the shed. One for those times when you want a bit more of a more gentle stretch and the other for when you want to get rid of some pent up RAGE!! ☠️☠️😎

    I’ve always preferred Holden’s over Ford’s, back in the V8 Supercar days I was more of a Holden fan than a Ford fan, but regardless of which car you liked more or which side you were on, I’ll always have love for both of these Aussie icons.
    We will never see another classic Aussie rivalry like the Commodore up against the Falcon or the HSV pitted against the FPV.
    Both brands had killer vehicles and that sweet V8 symphony that we will never experience again.
    The death of Holden in 2017 and the end of the Falcon around 2016 were sad days for the Aussie car culture.
    With V8’s being killed off due to strict emissions and everything downsizing and/or going to electric only, manuals being discontinued due to poor sales while the majority of Australian car sales are either family SUV’s or Ute’s it is the beginning of the end for car enthusiasts.

      In my opinion the falcon is a better all around car… but when it comes to raw power, speed and looks. You’ll have a very hard time getting around a VF GTS

    I dont know about anyone else, I was a Ford nut when I was younger and still love them. Its just good to see both of these cars out and done up nicely. Its pretty shIt that these will dwindle away, they are both such good cars.

    Love the Super Charger whine is awesome on the Holden but when the commentator drove it he wasn’t comfortable and seemed to be unpredictable. The Falcon was more manageable and had more power. Both are great cars. It’s a shame that we don’t make cars like these in Australia anymore. We should have protested more and pressured the government to keep them from the history books 📕

      How could the 335 Kw Falcon have more power than the 430 Kw GTS? Unless the Falcon has been HIGHLY modified and the GTS in standard trim. With both in standard form the Falcon is a whimp by comparison. Then there is the GTS R at 474 Kw .......... There was no match by Ford!

    Awesome review! I really like that the owners keep the cars looking stock. I have personally found the Ford chassis to be mismatched to that glorious engine. It’s good to see the owner working on that side of it too. I know it’s not about 0-100 times in cars like this, but I think they’d greatly benefit from a decent launch control setup through the engine and transmission management control units.

      Definitely agree, the VF lsa chassis was designed for the power when the fgx was patched from the original ba chassis.

      @@Low760 I have never driven a BA but I did own an FPV GTP (Boss 335) and hated the whole setup, other than the engine. I didn’t tune the car at all simply because the chassis couldn’t handle the stock power. I had previously owned a HSV GTS and found that to be much better engineered as a whole package, especially with the magnetic ride control suspension. The FG F6 also seemed to have better balance than the Boss, but still not quite as engineered as the HSV.

      ​@olik9388 the only weak link in the Falcon is the OEM suspension bushes are way too soft. Replace them with urethane and they transform how they drive. I bought a brand new BA2 F6 Typhoon, I did motorsport events with it, often against HSV models, it wasn't even close. The HSVs also imo do not have the same steering response and composure. If you fitted comparable shocks to the very few HSVs that had the magnetic ride you'd see a bigger difference. Not to mention the Barra turbo or the Miami v8 blow the doors off the LS which really is a boat anchor.

    Hi. I like the look of the Holden more, but this is only my opinion.
    Sound wise I like both. Awesome V8 sounds with manual gearboxes. I like these comparisons on your channel. Last time JDM Power compared to Aussie Power (your car) was also nice to watch. Please go on.

    I am a ford man l love both of these cars. The Ford being a quad cam V8 feels more refined and sophisticated, behaved better and delivered the power more efficiently but the Holden GTS was just raw and was a maniac with the edge of the seat rush to it. Both fantastic cars but with distinctive characteristics which l can love and appreciate both.

      Fords have always been a better all rounder, and this example is a prime one… but when it comes to raw power, speed and looks. You’ll have a very hard time getting around a VF GTS, I’ve seen videos of that very car put one up (and not just a little one either) on a model S Tesla with all the goodies… says a lot!

    In the way of sheer in your face power, and looks you can’t go past the HSV… but as far as an all around classy road going racer.. the ford is and always has been just a better car, the DOHC efficiency, the suspension, the interior… just a nicer place to be IMO

    I have driven fast cars in my for enjoyment and pleasure tho i can say that super charger whine is just like a jet fighter before it peek reves before it take of into the blue sky and disappears heavily sound that just put a smile on ur face every tome you plant that foot down 😊

    VF driver an absolute legend ..no holding back lets it rip ...best driver of all time .. he has done an amazing job on the mods . Sounds crisp like a real muscle car . 🏆 🏁 🏆

      @RossReviewsau ...I'm possibly looking at buying one ...I have a vx s2 2000 170k on clock with all extra mods including after market SC .. also a XD falcon with a monstrous massive 460 CI , absolutely standard an absolute beast to drive ,
      Fuel wise vary costly ...looking at late model tech , better fuel economy, comfort , reliability etc either a VZ monaro , last of the vz's or VF .. VF more costly but more tuning avail .. at 6 foot 4 I think the coupe is best option .. more room etc

    You'd have to be crazy not to want either one of these in your driveway, but for me, the Ford pips it for sound, just personal preference. Bloody great those blokes wanted to get involved. Great video

      @@RossReviewsauI will say, if you set the Shockworks coilovers on their softest settings, it's not much harder than stock and is quite comfortable. The owner of this Falcon seems to have it set too hard for the street. They go up to 12 clicks, and I have mine set at 3 clicks. Anything higher than that and it becomes way too stiff for the street.

    Crazy good. Tragedy these are no longer and we're going down the path of boring, no personality EVs. You'd love either one of these beasts. That HSV is manic, would scare you but thrill you at the same time.

    Just hearing that GTS at full tilt made my skin crawl. Just freaking awesome.
    Alsp good on you mate. Now thats how you let Ross drive your car so he can truly experience the power of the LSA.
    Also Ross that Ford was built with power and grip track in mind.
    These HSV are monster grip also and planted but because thos owner has not got to that point yet. When you add power you have to add tires and so on to put that power down.
    Basically right now that HSV with stock grip is handling all the extra power its making with no extra grip mods.
    Hopefully now that he has gotten thr power where he wants it hopefully he focuses alittle bit more to grip and you will see the true potential of that chassis.

    The thing is that people forget is they are two different cars, targetted for two different people
    A FGX XR8 was never a GTS rival it was a SS rival..does that mean you cant do it up to rival a HSV? Absolutely you can, for the coin bang for your buck in power id take the falcon all day long but that chassis just wont ever put the power down as neatly as the HSV will
    Credit where credits due both owners done an amazing job with the cars, i could imagine how lack luster Ross F6 felt driving home tho..ahhhhh choo...ahhhhhh choooo

      I got a brand new XR8 at the start of 2017 when all the Ford fans were going for mustangs and got it for 48/9K delivered from interstate. spent some cash on it, still had plenty of change left over rather than had I have bought a GTS which i had planned to do and the car will beat a GTSR W1 Walkinshaw 557. Of course HSVs are worth more now because this is bogan country but still...your point is correct.

    Better comparison wouldve been a GTS vs GT or GTF .

    Keep the 275s and throw some michellin pilot sport 4s on it ✌️. Thats what im rocken on my 542kw lsa.
    They are good for slightly drizzle days as well

      @@jamiejenkins4583 But think how much they cost when new....the Falcon XR8 SPRINT was only $59,990, while the HSV GTS set you back a minimum of $75460 ! That $15,470 difference would pay for a LOT of fuel back then mate !!

    Gees that Ford sounds nice. Always like an engine that gets great horsepower from mal cubes!. I'm not big on supercharger whine..Both are monstrous cars and no probs with power on either, Maybe shifting 1st to 3rd on the 0-100kph run would give slightly better traction? - might be risking clutch??..-I can't believe they both run stock clutch/trans -Insane!

    I think the main problem with these Australian legends is we just need way bigger front tires for even more braking performance. Might need an upright redesign to something like the modern M cars have.

    That’s a lot of torque to be unloaded onto the tyres between each shift. You can see it on the Dragy graph - bulk time being lost between shifts and exacerbates the tyre spin. 12sec street cars. Looks fun no doubt

    Wish you could test an e49 charger, 0 to 100 in 5.9 seconds, quarter 14.1 . The old 1972 tyres were terrible so would be better today easily. The 265 was the Barra in the old days.

      Aussie will never be Holden...Ford introduced the V8 to Australia, Ford set the benchmark for what a muscle car is from the 60s right thru to the 70s with the hoeys, Holden like it did its entirety followed what Ford was doing.....like it not history tells the story not opinion

      you know they are just using a stopwatch aye , barely accurate is it, i have a stock ve with a 6.0 and that does 0-100 in 5.3, so my stock ve would bet a 748 wrhp sc vf ,i dont think so, seriously it would piss over a passat

    The gearing in the Falcon seems tall, needs gears to wake it up a bit and make it more lively like the GTS.
    Cant compare pacemaker to Difillipo/manta either.

    from what i could read, the connecting rods in the 1993 4.6 SOHC and the same as the 5.0 and 5.4 ford engines made in the usa... but that year code 1993 comes up as 128'000psi tensile and the aftermarket 4140 rods are only 90'000psi tensile. other years got 55'000psi tensile rods with aluminum pistons... not easy getting that info but i think the upper range of the minimum 128'000psi rods was 875lbft. "axles snap like twigs"...

      You're probably thinking of the Supercharged 4.6 DOHC Terminator Mustang Cobra, of '03/'04 which came with Manley Brand Forged H beam rods from the factory !!

      Herrods also used to sell them, not sure if they manufactured them too. They put 295s on using the ones they sold but not sure if you could go higher. Dalta Auto ones are said to be good for 315s so i have no idea where he got ones that go to 325...the video shows the XR8 with stock rims and didnt think 325s would fit on them.

      @RossReviewsau stock bottom end but running Higgins race heads harrop 2650 but new gen which is closer to a heart beat bigger oil reservoirs for the oil cooler and supercharger cold air and custom headers and exhaust to name a few mod for the engine factory box dif no mrc switched to coilovers pretty much built top end stock bottom factory drive train but managed to keep it looking stock bar it sitting on its ass and still putting out more kW then the one showed mad respect to his car but what he's done isn't Max what you can do with that car also mines still got an h pattern 😀

    If the Ford had 1000cc of extra capacity it would FULLY utilise the cavernous quad cam configuration, otherwise it's ALWAYS playing second fiddle!
