Most brokerages tell me that it's normal to do first three transactions solo, then decide for a team or not. My question to you is: How do you join a team as a solo agent without any knowledge? Dont you need that initial three transactions with the leading broker?

Same question, reworded without the headache. If you have to work under someone anyway, whether that be the leading broker at said brokerage or leading broker of said team, what's the difference?
value provided, level of support and splits will be different. a brokerage typically has a higher split and less support a team typically has a lower split and more support a team is always under a brokerage unless they are a 'teamridge' and operate their team like a brokerage

Teams are better equipped to support new agents due to better structure
