There was no conflict between “slavery and state’s rights”. There was only a conflict over slavery. States rights was a euphemism for the right of states to choose whether or not they would have legalized slavery. You distort the truth when you spread/perpetuate the myth that the conflict was about anything other than slavery.
They were fleeing because Mormonism was/remains a cult establishments by a criminal con man who made up an alleged religion a d then added polytheism to a Christian framework as well as polygamy. Mormonism was and remains a harmful cult that abuses its members, lies to members and perpetuates the lies of Joseph Smith all the while pretending the cult is Christian when it clearly is not at all Christian.
