I don't understand how Nick on FaceJam is an unrelatable freak of nature but with F**KFACE drafts he's the most relatable human being in existence. It's so odd.
It is nice, but they still somehow haven’t figured out how to balance the levels to where you can actually hear the content without them being so loud it vibrates your whole apartment complex. A gripe I have had for years since the Let’s Play days.
@@user-in5tq5kp34twit is fair use to react over them. They tip toe around copyright quite unnecessarily imo, it’s very frustrating. They took forever to do Sloppy Joe’s because they were afraid of that being copyright, like c’mon. Every single day the biggest streamers and content creators in the world are doing react content. I really just don’t get these unnecessary hang ups every time they have a good idea.
I remember one time where they were playing Minecraft and Ray was still there and Gavin said the line and Michael went "You could end up sitting next to you." There's also a recent either let's play or Face Jam where Michael references it.
I guess its are the going for "best" or "most memorable"... that one is very high on the list for being remembered, but I would literally use a competitor over them just because I hated their commercials so much.
I knew the milk was going to show up, but I didn't think he'd put House Hippo in his top 4. Absolutely iconic. I do feel like Canada was looking out for its kids. Questioning things you see on TV, and these days the Internet, is still such an important message.
Andrew I am so proud of you! This whole video I was thinking he better pick the house hippo commercial and you did it! You repped Canadian commercials well.
The only one missing out of the Canadian PSA trilogy is the "stay fit" commercials of the kid chasing his Pokemon card down the street and being too out of shape to catch it.
Seeing Eric’s third pick just reminded me of all those ‘text 1-800’ ads that I saw growing up. The ringtone ones, the dating app one, all of those. What a time to cognitive.
I'm only 10 minutes in but I already know my favorite F**kface moment of 2023 is Gavin saying "UWAR" in his West Country (which probably isn't a pirate) voice.
A lot of pirates/sailors of that time came from the South and west of the UK . Looking to make their fortune at see. so its not to far from a pirate accent.
I think this draft is the most excited I have ever been to see the North American House Hippo commercial. When Andrew was describing it I knew right away it had to be the house hippo commercial. EVERYONE in Canada born between 1980 and 1998 saw that commercial at least 1000 times. I audibly cheered as I saw the first frame. House Hippo is the best pick of the whole draft, and I think Andrew absolutely won this one
Andrew my Canadian brother, you came in clutch with house hippo. As a kid I somehow missed the ending when it was on TV and thought they were real. I would build tiny nests and leave a bite of peanutbutter toast out for them.
I am a Canadian who lived in the US from ages 2-19. I moved back to Canada and my born-and-raised Canadian friends and coworkers couldn't BELIEVE I'd never seen the House Hippo Commercials. They were so ubiquitous, I would compare their popularity among Canadians to the 'got milk?' ads of the early 2000s in America. Fantastic. As a Canadian/American, I feel well-represented in this draft. Also, I LOVE everything Gavin picked. OOHWAUR!
Most looking forward for Andrews picks as a fellow Canadian, so glad he put in those PSA's. I swear every time I smell burnt toast I think I'm having a stroke lmao. But I think "don't you put it in your mouth" or even "Astor the arm-losing robot" were just as iconic as the "what's your thing" ad if not even more. Or even the peach basket basketball one lol
I'm watching this the same day I also watched a 7-year old game play video with Gavin, and he made a reference to 'it does exactly what it says on the tin'.
Shout-out to Canadians watching out there we have the best commercials lol. I'm roughly Andrews age I was so hoping to see the ones he picked lol he nailed it 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Dude! Watching the Zoobooks commercial was SO NOSTALGIC! Instantly felt like I was sitting in my recliner waiting for Nickelodeon to come back from commercial break
Omfg Andrew's picks really hit the nostalgia for me!! I live in the same town as him and you can still find the Dodd's trucks driving around town with amazing parody pictures on the side (my favourite is "The Doddfather") I also loved the House Hippo commercials growing up!! My sister and I still refer to our guinea pigs as lil house hippos 🥰 I was waiting for him to pick the creepy Yop Me Mama commerical (Also, happy Bathtub Race Eve everyone!!!)
It’s amazing how commercials can take you back in time. That “what’s your thing” commercial was on TVO and YTV (Canadian kids TV) all the time. Multiple times an hour. Also, how Andrew can be the same age as me and not include the “don’t you put it in your mouth” puppet song is nuts. That’s a classic!
I was a regulation listener prior to this, but the shock horror I felt at knowing education connection despite being born in nearly 2003? I had to document this moment
I immediately thought of the Krusha advert from the 2000's for the milkshake with the weird mis-mashed collaged cats. That UK ad was so fun and like a fever dream lol
i would have picked this, the one with the tv that goes ''wont somebody get this cat offa my head'' and the psa ''dont you put it in your mouth'' honestly. also a hinterland who's who cause those were iconic. not funny, but iconic

this has made me realise how many of the memorable tv commercials from my childhood were Cadbury's ads. The "They call me Caramello...KOALA!" ad, the "Move over Freddo...FREDDO?!" ad, the Gorilla doing Phil Collin's In the Air Tonight drum solo ad and the "Wouldn't it be nice if the world was Cadbury's?" ad all stick to my head but I don't remember a single other commercial. Edit: Except for a local budget store chain (Chickenfeed) that ran frequent ads on most networks until they shut down in the 2010s.
With Eric also being from Southern California his list hits the most for me. Lol. Some classic midday random gems that play during the block of judge shows and Maury here in 90s 00s SoCal
I don't understand how Nick on FaceJam is an unrelatable freak of nature but with F**KFACE drafts he's the most relatable human being in existence. It's so odd.
It's the mask
IDK, as a fellow garbage can raccoon person I heavy relate to Nick on FaceJam
Because when he dawns the mask he becomes The Sauce Money
the mask effect is a documented thing from mascot performers to comedia del arte
That’s what the point of the mask is.
So glad y'all included the commercials in your video, instantly this draft is better than the online video one.
i was worried and scrolled down as soon as Andrew mentioned his first ad for this very reason. A small but nice touch
@@user-in5tq5kp34tw there are fair use rules 🤔

Can’t wait till they do so many of these that we get the drafts draft
Think gavin will understand it by then?

My favorite "where's the meat" adjacent thing is in 1985 Clara Peller was in a Prego Sauce Commercial and all she said was "I found it!"
I so desperately didn't want this to end. This was such a joy. Thank you.
All the Canadian ones were so nostalgic to see. Definitely saw those house hippo and the "what's your thing" commercials plenty of times.
Nick and Eric have been telepathically connected to each other since childhood through their TV’s.
I can't believe no one chose JG Wentworth commercial. Nick and Eric both grew up with it. It still haunts me.
I guess its are the going for "best" or "most memorable"... that one is very high on the list for being remembered, but I would literally use a competitor over them just because I hated their commercials so much.
JG Wentworth and all thr Mesothelioma commercials, especially post 9-11
That jumpcut to Captain Dodd Sparrow at 28:18 was the funniest thing i've ever seen. Andrew absolutely killed it with the Canadian commercials
Nick continues to be the measuring stick on these drafts. Guy doesn't miss
as a fellow canadian, andrew’s picks were absolutely top tier
Literally the two I immediately thought of were the ones he chose
I knew the milk was going to show up, but I didn't think he'd put House Hippo in his top 4. Absolutely iconic. I do feel like Canada was looking out for its kids.
Questioning things you see on TV, and these days the Internet, is still such an important message.
im still disappointed he didnt choose the yop commercial
@@Checkers_or_Wreckers I'm pretty sure he brought up the Yop commercial in an episode. I remember them talking about it.
I'm sad that "dontcha put it in your mouth" wasn't picked, but he still grabbed some gold ones
That Education Connection tune was my ringtone for about 6 months.. thank you Eric for bringing it back into my life.
Eric said it was from like 2004, I was born in 2000 and I distictly remember this from like 2010 between The Price is Right and Jerry Springer
@@KingOfTheSeas_low budget ads that run for years and decades are great

I wish he showed the yop me mama yogurt commercial
@@mediumpeenasian I *think* he showed it to them on a previous episode so he chose not to include it in the draft
@kyleblouin6627 That’s what I was saying hahaha
The only one missing out of the Canadian PSA trilogy is the "stay fit" commercials of the kid chasing his Pokemon card down the street and being too out of shape to catch it.
i'm late to the game, but there's a uk version of the hippo ad as well. it's not quite as good as the canadian one though
Eric immediately won as soon as he picked the Education Connection commercial.
how that fell to round three is beyond me. Top pick for sure.
I found her instagram
I knew it was gonna be the house hippo. ICONIC!!!
What a flash back that was
Seeing Eric’s third pick just reminded me of all those ‘text 1-800’ ads that I saw growing up.

Really wish Andrew included the classic Canadian kids playing hockey drinking Kraft Dinner from bottles taped to their helmets.
I was waiting for the Marineland ad.

What's your thing is the ONLY acceptable second place IMO. CCA really did good with their commercials though.
Because you never know
being a similar age to Andrew, and from Canada, made this wonderful to watch
Today I learnt the origin of the popular saying ‘does exactly what it says on the tin’ 😂
Dude that Sears central air commercial unlocked a core memory
Thank you for sending my husband and I down a rabbit hole of 90's commercials for like 3 hours!
Andrew my Canadian brother, you came in clutch with house hippo. As a kid I somehow missed the ending when it was on TV and thought they were real. I would build tiny nests and leave a bite of peanutbutter toast out for them.

Pretty sure my assistant thought I was just losing my mind.
“mmOoooOmm Aiden sawed me in half again!” I had a little sister and Aiden was the hero of that commercial my whole Canadian childhood😂
I would say "bugs." SO many times as a kid as well as the "Aiden sawed me in half again!!” haha, it's iconic
Gavin not including a single cadburys advert is crazy. He lost it with that decision
THE WATCH ONE WAS SO GOOD!!!
And the lack of classic Guinness ad puts me at an unease.
That or the Guinness Surfer ad
I kept wondering where the drumming gorilla was
The curlywuly
If Andrew dosn’t draft the house hippo as a Canadian, I will be extremely disappointed in him
Edit: Very very proud of Andrew!
OMFG Andrew your honoral mention IS LITERALLY my childhood, i think I’ve seen that advertisement 1000+ times
They could easily do another one of these just on iconic UK ads
I'm watching this the same day I also watched a 7-year old game play video with Gavin, and he made a reference to 'it does exactly what it says on the tin'.
THE HOUSE HIPPO!! Nostalgic memory unlocked!
Andrew instantly wins for picking the House Hippo. Also the "What's your thing?".
I think this one is so good it needs another round
As a 90's kid from Vancouver Island not only did Andrew win the draft but this might be the most tailored video for me of all time.
Tell us about Dod
Nick hit me the hardest with the nostalgia!!
Gavin was the most informative.
As a Brit, Gavins draft was perfect.
And the Ambrosia rice pudding song was the Wurzels
Pure Moods woke me up so many times lmaoooooo such a fantastic choice
Gavin casually teaching us all where 'does exactly what it says on the tin' came from is iconic
As a Canadian I really related to the "My things sound affects, here's a T-rex" kid
As an Ontarian... Andrew reminding me of the Milk Rap unlocked several core memories
Gavin's creamed rice ad is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of my life.
honorable mentions: zoopals and head on apply directly to the forehead
oh and also that australian landmine psa

Gavin’s UK Dr. Pepper commercial is a jewel of an ad, quietly.
Dude! Watching the Zoobooks commercial was SO NOSTALGIC! Instantly felt like I was sitting in my recliner waiting for Nickelodeon to come back from commercial break
The 90s "have you had your break today" McDonald's commercial is my forever burned into memory as a kid commercial.

"and now for something completely different" has become part of my vocabulary since this came out
This might need a part 2. I'm in the UK, and there are so many Gav could have gone with. Kia Ora anyone?
The tango one and Dr pepper ones really took me back, the good old days of you've been tangod lmao
And then the everybodys gotta have a thing! God this took me back, Andrew killed it for me
As someone who moved to the island post-childhood, thank you SO much for the history lesson, Andrew. I will never look at Dodd's the same way again...
YES ANDREW
This video brought me true joy. Beautiful.
I have said 'does what it says on the tin' so many times in my 21 year long life and never knew it came from one advert

so glad gavin finally got to share the dr pepper one cos i've been confused why no one got his reference to it for years
Andrew represented Canada so well there, those were some great ones
We had that exact same House Hippo ad in the UK! Surprised Gavin never saw it
Pure Moods. Oh god, that commercial was burned into my brain when I was a kid.
If the Everest College or Pure Moods cds commercials aren't in this I will be disappointed.
