Ive been to RAF Coningsby and the sound of Typhoons taking off is beautiful. Some of the engineers covered their ears as it was so loud but I could listen to it all day! Funnily enough, you could hear them all round the base and everyone would look for them but they were invisible.
I was in AFG for 6 months and I loved just sitting on the flight line and watching all of the jets take off into the mountains. It was really cool at night to see them take off.
Loved it Paul. Not heard from you for a while. When I was an apprentice at BAE Warton one of the Lightnings took off and the tail exhaust was hitting the runway for a while and the doppler effect in the exhaust was a sight to see.
Thanks Mal, been busy and a huge backlog of vids to watch and catchup on, should be out on Sunday for 3rd detect of the year. Lightnings were just incredible machines and wish some were still flying see you've uploaded, will watch when I can all the best Paul
Got to be the quickest take off from brakes off to rotate of any fighter I've seen then tail stand it. Having watched many demi's its turn performance is awsum too.. Love the noise , as good as the BEA lighting and Vulcan for chest hitting sound you not only hear it you feel it in bucket loads.
@@TedConingsby Yeh I know what you mean. funny how sound works though, cos if you stand directly behind a jet engine it's not that noisy but if you stand about 45 degrees it's blasts your ears! I always wear ear defenders and ear plugs when filming jets
PeaceHavens I agree. I used to go to airshows just to see the EE LIGHTNINGS great party piece for leaving after their performance, high speed run over the runway then a quick rotate vertical with afterburners on. loved the noise oh boy the noise.
Bloody hell . Nutters . How did the rear not touch the ground the way went up. Wow . They really went for it.Was it like a emergency take off practice?? Great video . Bet your hairs where standing up on your neck lol.
It was just a practice take off with reheat, they don't always do it but when they do it's really amazingg! I'm sure the tailpipes do get a few scrapes every now and then. and regards hair standing up I don't have much hair LOL, but it always puts a smile on my face when they use reheat thanks for watching
Can’t imagine how good it feels like to fly in one of those seats every day. Wow!
Thank you so much for keeping the sound in the clouds at the end
I was going to cut but just left it
They climb like a homesick angel

I just love the sound of the engines roaring to take off
Rolls Royce engines. Amazing to think that they have been making great aero engines since before the second world war.
@FR Correct. Didn't say that they did.
I saw these at an Air Show, the power, speed, noise etc is jaw dropping when you actually see them in front of you.
2 typhoons in air in less time than a A320 airliner takes to travel 300 yards, absolutely amazing
the take-off of the Eurofighter puts an adrenaline on those who watch it, let alone those who pilot it! Wowowowowowowowowo
Fantastic

love to visit raf connisby one day i love the typhoon jets and rafale jets there are both awsome jets 😊😊
I've been there before I recommend it
She is well Named! The Hawker Typhoon was the British Tank Killer of the 2nd World War!
I love this fully loaded vertical takeoff. The last one disappeared in the clouds.
If you see 1 of these outside your airliner cabin window you could be in big trouble
Wow I don't live far from RAF Conningsby and I can hear them from a very long way.
Glad those are on our side !!🇺🇸🇬🇧
Damn noisy but I would say the Panavia Tornado was louder.😁👍
And orf they go...toodles...
Bloody good form chaps and...indeed chapesses...👍🏻👍🏼👍
Wow, airborne in about 10 seconds from lighting up the afterburner! Power
15 seconds or less to take off I use to guard a whole base against three squarden in my game.
Was the Typhoon jets taking off damaging your ears when you where recording this vid? I heard that there unmanageable loud.
I always wear ear plugs AND ear defenders heh heh.
I learned the hard way while filming tornado's taking off which are really really loud!
You wanna stand up the runway path...o.m.g... yep, was death for a few hours lol

Wow! They were up in 6 seconds!
These guys are in a hurry - they want to be back by lunch. Fantastic!
One hell of a machine.
that is how to dry the runway....
Amazing Video !
Very nice
Thanks mate
Oh yeah. That's what I call a full AB takeoff!
Very very cool fighters . Sonic cruiser
Very impressive like the lighnings were, BUT Where is the other one in IMC?(Cloud)
yeah low cloud that day so they soon disappear
Do they need to use the afterburner to take off? Or is it so it’s off the ground quicker?
They don't need it to take off, I think this was a 'performance take off'
As will Smith said in the film Independence Day.i got to me 1 of these 🙂
the only comparable plane I ever saw was the old Lightning Interceptor ............straight up
agree with the Lightning, awesome piece of kit
