[4K] Volkel; F-35A Kicks in the Afterburner and goes almost vertical

- Visited Volkel Air Base in the morning to film a number of local flights.
Was lucky that of the 4 F-35 fighter jets 2 left with full afterburner. This is what we don't see very often. There were also 4 F-16s flying which I will show in a later video. I hope you like the video

Schitterende beelden weer!
'It's a hell of a job, but someone's gotta do it," nietwaar? 🤗
Ja man afzien dit 🤣👍.
I’m a former USAF combat pilot and I love watching and remembering. There are very few of us and I’m so proud to be in this fraternity.
Thanks for watching.
HE'LL YEAH THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
Dude, I do not know how you get such incredible access. I could almost see the parsley in the pilots teeth from breakfast. Oh what stills I could get from there..... wow. Spectacular!! Sorry, had to add.... at 3:30 the second pilot acknowledging you with the panther claw gesture.... was one of the coolest things I have evert seen. That must have felt incredible.
Perhaps it's a surprise but I recorded this video from out side the fence. Volkel where this recordings I made has a good spotting place as you can see 😊. My latest video upload is recorded on base but that's at Leeuwarden Air Base 😊. Thanks for watching and your great comment mate 👍
Dude
Amazing video Arjan! It's nice to see the difference between takeoff without and with afterburner! Thumbs up as always👍😊
Thank you very much Martin 👍 . Tomorrow we will go on vacation to the cities Bremen, Hannover and Kassel of your beautiful country 👍😎
@@32tfs you're welcome, sounds like a great vacation👌 I hope you will have nice days in Germany🇩🇪😉
Thanks mate 👍
Super marvellous takeoff on these F-35A Lightning II 🤩😎
Thanks for your visit my friend 👍. Have a nice sunday mate 😊
@@32tfs ahh thanks very much and must welcome dude and have a nice weekend to you too ☺️😁👍
Klopt.Ze kunnen zonder opstijgen,net als de F-16
Fantastic camera work ,and superb quality THANKS .These F35's are a work of art
Thanks for watching and your friendly comment 👍😊
Thank you for these beautiful pictures. I've always
found the F-35 physically unagressive, but when
you watch a takeoff " Mamamia " !
I wish you a good Sunday and a pleasant week my friend.
Yes somehow this "little beast" gets still more respect from me 💪. Have a good week and enjoy your stay at the beach my friend 😊👍
With so many amazing planes available, the 35 is just breathtaking. Was so enthtralled with the 22, but this one will have a much greater impact globally.....
pilot of #16 is a man who really really loves his job
Being a fighter pilot must be great i think.
Or woman!
@@chrismorin7161doubt it 😂

Wow! I was watching a Chinese military airshow online yesterday. The Chinese Stealth Fighter looks very similar to the F22 in many many ways. Must have been the server found in that Colorado Broom Closet.
Thanks for watching mate and have a nice sunday my friend 😊👍
The Chinese are well known for copying other peoples designs 😂
You can make an aircraft that looks like an F-22 or F-35, but it won't even be close to the stealth of the aircraft. The tolerances and manufacturing techniques are extremely expensive and time-consuming. The coverings also make the plane extremely hard to target. While I think the Chinese planes are stealthier than the Russian ones, they are nothing compared to the US aircraft! Stealth aircraft are also difficult to maintain as any damage to the stealth coating takes time and $ to fix.
Ye well Al buy some . Am the new pm that's prieminster lol
the electronics used make the difference
I saw a demonstration of an F-35 over Lake Ontario at the CNE. It made more noise than the 4 F-16’s of the Thunderbird stunt team combined.
Beautiful video!
Thank you very much and have a great weekend my friend:)
@@32tfs Thansk, same to you my friend!
Too much taxying, too little takeoff.
Exactly. There are far better videos out there.
Complain to the pilot 😁lol
Boring!
Learn how to spell
Not forgetting that the English Electric Lightening could achieve Mach 1 in a straight vertical climb in 1960 and manage over mach 2 in level flight.
I was going to say similar.
Me too!
excellent....at 1:27 when the pilot waved, I waved back :)
Thanks for watching 😊👍
Saw F35 at Old Buckingham air show-excellent.
It’s very difficult to get a good photo because you need to react quickly otherwise it’s out of frame but very space age.
Sanicole international airshow.
Maybe it was the Camera angle but that looked like a pretty gentle climb. I've seen a Phantom go vertical and that was impressive, and very noisy.
Wow... that's a very cool video!
Yes indeed as we spoke at the fence last tuesday this is not happen very often over here. Greetings mate 😊👍
How many military non-vtol plane models are there in use that can fly straight up for extended periods of time?
How much pesticide can this thing handle? Can it drop ag chemicals? Then what good is it?
Good job enjoyed that.
Thank you for watching, stay tuned for more aviation videos:)
I was just gazing at these dainty jets and fantasizing about the Wright brothers watching how things will be in future.
Thanks for watching 👍😊
What a cool looking thing! Imagine being given the keys to that!
Can someone please explain to me what the afterburner does?
Also, someone needs to mow the lawn!
Afterburner dumps more fuel into the exhaust stream after the turbine. A seconday burn and associated thrust. Instant twice the power. Limited duration and absolutely inefficient use of fuel.
@@MichaelBarnes-ey7sj wow, that’s awesome. Thanks for the explanation!
ONE AMAZING JET!
What makes the high pitched sound?

Having the worlds most powerful jet engine, you expect stellar performance!
Yep..but nothing beats the Phantom with the mighty J79
@@bertdegroot9427 Yeah, it was pretty impressive back in the day.
These never takeoff just driving around
Awesome!! I live 30 minutes from Volkel and I´ve never been there. Is there any way to get information about the flight-schedule? Or just come and have luck?;))
Normally they fly from around 10:00 -12:00-- and from --14:00- 16:00 only from monday till friday (no weekend or public holidays).
Of course this is military traffic so subject to change.👍
@@32tfs Perfect, thank you very much!
@@32tfs So we have been there last friday and missed the two starting F-35 by two minutes, but caught four F-16 landings! It was an absolute blast, my son had the time of his life;) Thanks again!
@@MontanTny Nice to read you and your son had great time over there 👍
Start at 4:38.
Before they are just low riding.
Super vette beelden.
@@32tfs we blijven hopen. We gaan het zien.👍👍🙏
The camera angle is deceptive - the climb angle would have been 45 degrees at most.
So, producing zero emissions on takeoff and flight??
So no insignias on these planes. For what country are they deployed?
Royal Netherlands Air Force. Thanks for watching 👍
Hey love your video! what external microphone are you using for your Panasonic x1500? I heard that any external microphone plugged into the 3.5mm jack causes a lot of background/pre-amp noise.
Hi there, I use Rode VideoMic Pro Rycote as external microphone. Greetings mate 👍
@@32tfs hey thanks for letting me know! Do you notice a low back background noise (noisy preamp) when you plug in your mic into the 3.5 socket? It sounds more like cars on a highway from a distance. Even if just the cable is plugged into the socket (without the mic), i can hear this noise. Do you have the same problem?
I don't recognise or hear it but that can also be my age. Perhaps you can hear it with a headset watching my vids? I'm quite pleased with this mic.
@@32tfs When you plug in your microphone using the 3.5 socket and record in a very quiet environment, do you hear a low/ambient fan/static noise in the background like this? It is the sound of the preamp. I made this test video (below) with my Deity V-Mic D3. Any mic I use has this fan/static (preamp) noise at the back when i plug it into the 3.5 socket. Not sure if its just me or if this is common as I did some research and many people with the x1500 have this issue. Or maybe im just picky

@@32tfs Also, I forgot to mention. I love how you stabilize your videos so well. Are you using a tripod? Which one?
I love how so many armchair experts think they know the performance of an F-35.
You mean the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter ? NOT the F-35 ,'Stealth Fighter,' of course. Good camerawork !
Dont mess w armchair fighters, in the end Air War is being and Will be mostly carried by armchair pilots, wont they ?
😉
It's the entire aviation community that thinks this is the most expensive military design failure in history.
It will never see actual combat against another aircraft.
And if it doesn't crash or have a software glitch you are very lucky.
Keep up the magical thinking it's an American trait called exceptionalism, look up the word from your armchair you might learn something. 1:12
@@conantdog I believe the companies that have received the millions of dollars to build this thing would not think that is the failure yet a great success in building their personal bank accounts. That is the bottom line and what it is all about.
When talking of performance we must realize that the performance is what the thing we are talking about can perform. In relating to the 35 airplane we must realize that it's performance is that it perform what a 35 can perform at. Kamala Harris
How much is a used F-35?
Awesome!!
Thanks 👍
Amazing video! What camera and tripod did you use for this???
I use a Panasonic HC-X1500. This video I recorded out of my hand and edited with adobe premiere pro. Thanks for watching 👍😊
@@32tfs Wow! No tripod at all? How did you manage to stabilize the camera so steady that there are no camera shakes (especially when you zoomed in)?
Used my ois of my camera and stabilizing by using adobe premiere and adobe After Effect.
@@32tfs Thanks for the info, love your videos, keep up the good work!
Thanks for your compliment, appreciate that mate 😊👍
Een nutteloos vliegtuig, die F-35.
Weten we dat ook weer.
Only if you’re Russian.
Awesome power!
4;50 - Run Forrest, Run!!!
There is a difference here. Almost vertical??
Actual performance-speed, altitude etc. is Classified & unknown to the public. As it should be.
Geweldig!!!
Right On Go Army!
Over $100 months lion a plane with $7.1 million annual maintenance costs.
Just let that sink in.
I heard there is only one place to give us permission on taking off and land in without checking the passport
Senkrechter Start?
ertikaaleke... nothing close to an F-104G more than 50 years ago. In fact just complying with noise abatment rules for urban areas nearby ;-)
Once upon a time NAS Whidbey Island…A6A
anybody seen a F35 going supersonic in vertical flight, like an Electric Lightning, a very long time ago?????
Costs more than my car!
Did not see "almost vertical". Did see a LOT of taxiing.
Starts at 3:00
Oh my gosh the video quality is so high the plane almost looks like its coming out of the screen, it looks almost not real!
Thanks for watching 👍
Very impressive take off - if the Saab Draken and English Electric Lightning hadn’t climbed faster than that in the 1960s. And yes, I’m well aware of the improvements carried by modern fighter designs. But stop trying to sell impressive take offs to those who are old enough to have seen better.
I do not selling anything only older people seems to watch younger videos.👍
TH-cam call that "vertical" 😅😅😅😅
No I did not. Read understandably mate.
My last duty station we flew fb111f but these f35s are totally crazy
Boy, that’ll flip your eggs!
Zo schijnbaar makkelijk.
Zo'n versnelde take-off moet geoefenend zijn.
Bedankt voor het bekijken van de video 😊👍
About as vertical as my front lawn!
Looks like an aircraft doing a takeoff whoppee.
Not even close to almost vertical. 😎
The best pair of skis I still have has this V name I think.
The f35,its the worlds greatest fightercraft, noone beats it when it comes to cost, noone even gets close, this plane is a total sucker for government money….
45 degrees is no where vertical, actually only half way
It's so pretty. I love her.
❤
👍
English electric LIGHTNING could go supersonic climb in 1960 !
It couldn't climb at supersonic rate, or anything close to it. It could have mach air speed while ascending.
@@Resistculturaldecline Mach 1 == speed of sound. The fighter could exceed that in a vertical climb, lots of youtube on that
Ok watching the F-35, the F-22’s fat older brother, almost put me to sleep. 😂
OUR COUNTRY IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME IN TECHNOLOGY!!
TOO BAD OUR GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT!!
Not a comparison to the original Lightning vertical climb
Meanwhile back at the ranch
Considerably slower and less agile than the F16. Putting all their efforts into stealth. Seems a retrograde step.
It can shoot down everything before they know what hit them
So what you’re saying is that f-35 is inferior to F-16? And all the countries (including US) who are replacing f16 with f35 and actually downgrading their capabilities? Can you perhaps share some insights why they are doing this?
😍👏👍🤙RNLAF😊
Thanks for watching and have a nice sunday mate 👍😊
Trump: That plane is invisible. Me: I just watched it take off 🤣
🤣
Not as dramatic as a takeoff of a English Electric Lightning
Fatastic never tire of watching this
Thanks for watching 🙂
Takeoff at 4:40 min, rest is boring
Very misleading title
Not really
Not so special. The EE/BAC Lightning could go TRULY vertical in 1964.
Not particularly impressed. None of them are using all stages of afterburner. At least the two that even used the afterburner. The most impressive thing is that the United States at least twice I've heard that they are having trouble keeping more than 30% of them are worthy
The good old Lightning jets did better than this and had to be careful not to damage the runway!
Half mile take off. We wasted our money on these turkeys.
The 1st F-35 was pathetic, as it took that pilot 21 seconds to lift off, while the 2nd and 3rd F-35 pilots only took 10 seconds for lift off.
I don’t recall that the first guy used his afterburner. The second two jets clearly did. That explains the difference.
No sale, it's not a high performing interceptor, it's just not, and stop pretending.
Very boring video. What’s with all the taxing?
