      Nice nice nice. This is what I’m talking about! I play the game every day. Almost! I agree that dropship should have significantly more hull points. I also think ground vehicles should have way more hill points and/or shields. Separate the dimensions of gameplay. Ships should be scared of people and ground vehicles They are fragile expensive void faring craft. Thanks Matthew! Right now, one arrow can take on multiple centurions and ballistas. Trust me- i do it. Ships OP.

      Thank you! This reply really means a lot to the Prowler/Tevarin community! Ultimately, we just wish for the prowler to see brighter days. Also please don't nerf this ship in order to buff it. Its situation currently does not need anymore features taken away from it.

      While you are at it can you guys please please please give the Prowler its Gravlev functionality. Gravlev has been in game longer than the Prowler it should have came into the game with it, especially considering its irl cost.
      Also since you guys are working on gravlev vehicle this year the x1. It would be a good time to clear a bit more of the backlog of issues Prowler has.
      We just want what we paid for, no more no less.

      @@endsinvention1390 ground vehicles need some buffer to physical damage that isn't like current shields. They take way too much damage without really any way to tell them boom randomly your roc just vaporizes you.

      There are about 12 to 14 major ships in the backlog, most of them need multiple systems before they can justify their size and role in the verse.
      Apollo
      Orion
      Liberator
      Crucible
      Railen
      Odyssey
      BMM
      There are also about the same number of major features:
      Water / Weather
      Fire / extinguishers
      Pushpull / Bounty animations
      Engineering*
      Flight surfaces / driving rework
      Scanning / E warfare
      Maps / QT / markers
      Habs / Hangers / Roads*
      Munition / Armor
      Orbits/ Seasons
      As well as reworking four or five ships like the 600i, Caterpillar, modules etc
      We also know most of these mechanics* (not ships) will come with 3.20
      By the time 42 is ready to launch we should already have Pyro and Nyx, bringing the total number of systems to 5 or 6.
      They will also have around 1400 staff, and the resources to focus on bringing all ships up to the current standards with the relevant mechanics and features, as well as assemble larger teams to focus on legacy ships that remain like the Galaxy, Perseus, Polaris and Nautilus
      They're also changing up 42 material, so it suggests we are closer to the Beta than folks seem to realise

      @@fourfoxgaming an other SHIPS are farther in than that but dont have mission specific mechanics THUS they are not priority. Especially if SQ42 does not have them in the story.

    I second this. Unless all drop ships get the ability to hot drop units from 1000m above ground, they all need a minimum of 80k hull hp or have massive shields. What else are they good for if not being a tank?

      Definitely agreed on this point. I also like that the video makes suggestions based on the role of the ship rather than complaining about dogfighting meta. These are changes I can definitely get behind.

    A lot of these issues were the reason why I melted my prowler last year. I remember watching a gladius collide with a prowler and kill it while the gladius took no damage.

    Hornets have their lovely black screens to this day lol, CIG don't seem to care for older vehicles. As those are not selling like the new ones would. At least their actions feel like this.

      Andromedas are super dark inside, my avenger titan displays cut out randomly, and my caterpillar elevator leaves me stranded daily.

    Wow, I had no idea the Prowler was done so dirty. As a Terrapin pilot I hear you with issues that seem to persist forever. And yeah... Terrapin is kickass as a drop ship. I always survive.

      Fun fact. Terrapin has more hull HP than a Carrack.
      And this is BEFORE armor is added in.
      And the shields can be upwards to about 20,750 shields with two ramparts.

      Terrapin only has 2 size 2 weapons, now compare that with 2 size 5 plus two size 3 on the turret.
      If they would up the hull HP it would make it way too strong unless they drastically reduce the loadout.

    the fact that the turret bug is actually a bug is blowing my mind, I rented the Prowler during IAE and flew it with a friend and that bug occured with them as copilot, but it was so smooth and happened every time that we thought that no this couldn't possibly be a bug, it has to be intended otherwise this would be fixed in an instant with how game breaking and common it is.
    The fact CIG basically have continued to condone it through inaction is just horrifying.

    The biggest problem with dropships as I see it right now is that they lack purpose. With the current state of the game there just isn't any reason why you would load a bunch of players in a single fragile ship when every player could just fly in using their own light fighter. That not only makes a team much more effective in the air, but also less vulnerable to losing most of the team on the approach.
    CIG needs to find a way to incentivize the use of multicrew dropships over the use of individual ships for individual players.

    As someone who backed the concept for this ship waaaaaay back in the day, I'm okay with the Prowler not being as nimble as it was when it dropped. That was as ridiculous as the Ares: it was THE meta fighter for a couple patches. But it could definitely stand to be more maneuverable than it is now (definitely that roll rate is bad) - Prowler should be real graceful in atmo, at the very least. Maybe they're waiting on the new flight mechanics, but yeah - pretty much agreed with everything else. Good points!

      Thank you! Yeah at this point, I don't mind how slow the ship moves. It still performs 90% of my general use and after flying this ship for so long. I can't imagine it any faster or nimbal.

      @@fourfoxgaming During the concept, they were saying that part of the stealth would be paired with low acceleration, which yeah - I'm fine with this thing not being a racer, but hoping for a little more maneuverability (for all dropships, but yeah - especially this one)

    I had a prowler, but got rid of it due to some of the issues you listed. It's a beautiful ship and i love the red lighting. Additiionally i agree with the drop ship HP buffs overall.

    To start great video! This one is hard I'm in the same boat but with other ships. when I fly a new ship I just try to get the feeling of the space, amenities, how it handles by the seat of your pants to make initial judgements.
    Where this really gets hard is because they have so much balancing and passes to make on ships. They will be changing percentages of shields, armor and ECT. The hard part is that when you are building your fleet you wanna know. What to expect especially when using your hard earned cash to buy the ships. You have done the best thing, look to the lore and what CIG says it should be.
    Godspeed, we do the best with what we know and have.

      @@fourfoxgaming In a way yea but also no, cause on one hand we all know how fragile ground vehicles are, but on the other hand nobody ever uses ground vehicles, so I don't REALLY know cause I've never ever seen one lol, so I guess the cutty steel was more like, something I could relate to / understand if that makes sense as for me the cutty steel's rep is especially notorious, since compared to the rovers it's just the health, but the steel has similar wonky stuff like the crewed miniguns damaging the shield of the ship itself if fired XD

    The silliest thing about the prowler is that it has two size 5 and two size 3 mounts, but since the 3.14 capacitor nerf replaced power plant power to weapons with magic-recharge capacitors (which produce their own power with passive power-on power for weapons being the only contribution of the power plant), it's had to recharge its weapons at the same nerfed 3000/sec as every ship smaller than a Constellation. It has to charge its weapons with the same power source as a Merlin or Aurora, or even an Ursa rover. This makes the Prowler the ship with the most nerfed energy weapons (second place going to the Glaive and Scythe with two size 5s and two size 1s).
    You can work around this by using AD5Bs but it's ridiculous that you can have a ship with a big size 2 power plant that can't charge its weapons better than a ground vehicle with a size 0 power plant. (Because the power plant doesn't charge weapons aynmore, it doesn't matter. 3000 charge capacitors can *almost* fully recharge two size 1 guns. There's no hope of charging the Prowler's two size 5 and two size 3 guns at a meaningful rate).

      @@fourfoxgaming Thanks. The capacitor nerf is one of my biggest complaints about the game. Basically for pilot energy weapons, every single ship is in one of two classes. Smaller-than-Connie (3000 charge) and Connie-and-larger (15000 charge). Since energy == damage, every single ship has a nerfed maximum potential damage output and it's the same on all ships of one of those two classes, regardless of what energy weapons you put on.
      Think of it as a all those ships having a 3000/sec dps capability and adding better weapons just increases how quickly they can empty the capacitors, with a marginal sustained dps increase coming from spending more time in recharge harvesting that 3000/sec. As the guns get bigger the improvement becomes smaller and smaller.
      Since non-pilot turrets have a separate capacitor nerf, that calculation is applied separately for them. This goes for turrets that have the same 3000 nerf (like Scorpius) where the only benefit is not needing to triangle nerf them to charge shields, or ships like the Hammerhead where there is effectively no nerf (1,000,000 charge) and the guns charge at their natural rate.
      Unfortunately any turret the pilot can optionally slave (like on the Super Hornet or Prowler) exists sharing the same nerfed 3,000 charge as the main pilot weapons. You *can''t* slave turrets like the Scorpius with a separate nerf (that's why people who multibox to pseudo-slave the Scorp turret get 3000 + 3000 but the Super hornet just gets 3000)
      The Redeemer is the sole exception, where the slave turret the pilot can use is on the turret nerf (12,000 charge). This lets the pilot draw from the standard 3,000 charge for the two pilot weapons and the 12,000 charge for the slave turret. It exists in a class of its own between the ships smaller than Connie and the ships bigger than Connie.
      The Prowler doesn't get that benefit as the turret shares the same 3,000 nerf as the main pilot weapons.
      In my ideal world they'd just go back to having the power plant powering everything and that being what determines how much energy you can give to the guns to convert into damage.

    Millenia ago I was introduced to Star Citizen, but it was the Prowler concept that got me to commit. It was my dream ship and I grew to be a Tevarin fan, so this ship has a special place in my heart... But not my hangar sadly. Now I'm Talon pilot haha.

    I've been on a break from SC for some time now, simply due to the handling of patches and the pacing of the updates. One of my biggest desires in SC has been to fulfil the role of a Dropship pilot but the state of play for dropships in combination with available activities have acted as a barrier for me.

      We need gameplay where numbers matter. One simple and great way to accommodate for this would be to increase the amount of small mineables ores for handheld equipment. Imagine dropping 18 people just to go mining!!! Totally functional for dropship!!! And also including outposts with a small amount of distance in between places of interest. Just enough to warrant the use of a dropship

      I hope that the removal of SQ42 means that the development is actually near its end, which would then mean that there'd be a big patch with new features, ships, and changes that CIG kept locked behind SQ42 development, alongside a big influx of development power and money that'll go to SC

    Great video. Sound, one of the most important parts of video production, was very good and on point. Fair and logical assesment of the issue without devolving into drama or a polarized viewpoint. I think if you continue to be level headed and avoid using clickbait / drama to boost views, your channel will do very well. I especially liked the inclusion of lore in the assesment of the Prowler.     there needs to be two types of dropships. One with light armor for quickly droping troops on the outskirts of fights. The second one would have heavy armor to put troops in the middle of fights.

      First should be very delicate but has retrorocket drop pods to just throw people at a fight from 10k up. that would make the difference a lot more substantial while each having a place to shine. First would only be able to drop like maybe 4 people in a small ship that needs to stay away from the fight. The one mid size tanky boy that drops a bunch of infantry on the ground in the middle of a warzone. And one that has parachute rafts to throw out tanks like they do irl with humvees.

    What about the hover tech that the Prowler is supposed to have. Shouldn't the Prowler be able to skim along the ground like the hoverbikes in-game do just at a slower speed? I always thought that the Prowler doubled as the Tevarin armored tank support during their raids.

      i made room for this discussion initially but it started to be a run off sentence. at the moment, there are two different versions of hover tech in game. one version is best displayed by the Nomad and its hovering landing pad. the second is best exampled by the hoverquad and nox vehicles. I dont mind that this feature is not in yet, but im hoping that something like the turret bug is an easy fix, just got to put some light on the issue.

    That image of The Prowler on a landing pad was the image that got me into Star Citizen. I saw that image and bought into the game. This was about 8-9 years ago. Still not really much use for the ship beyond that picture I saw

    I have owned a prowler since day one, and I think how they had it at release was great. It was a dropship with the performance of a heavy fighter. It could get you down to a planet and be a dropship while destroying any fighters that want to stop you.

    When looking at each of these drop ships you have to look at what they bring. Prowler is not a hot zone drop ship. It gets stealth. It's more a sneak in and drop people of unnoticed. If need be with its big guns take out a defensive placement. The vanguard is a heavy hot zone drop ship. It's go in during combat, drop off a team and then continue fighting. Cutlass is a clear out a landing zone. Drop troops off and get out. The valkeryi is a base of operations. It comes in clears a spot and lands. Staying there. These is a drop ship that is missing. I think argo could fill that role. A forward operating base of operations. Imagine an argo raft, under it is a box with rotating turrets like the scorpions. 2 dual size 2 turrets on the side. The raft drops the box off and the turrets rotate to the top. Big enough to carry a small ground vehicle. Like 2 biked or something. Also has jump seats for troops. The box would have Shields as well. Raft drops it off and speeds out of there

    I appreciate this video as its constructive, not overly dramatic, and has some great points. Thanks for making it.
    Also, as a Valkyrie owner, I feel some of your pain. My valkyrie still cant carry cargo, the upper crew area is still exposed in a silly way, and it cant carry the Anvil Atlas series of vehicles. Its a great ship with just some really odd design decisions.

    I was JUST thinking about this, they even made it this months subscriber ship and it's in an awful state. The thrusters just bug out half the time making it unflyable.
    And stealth is in the game, well enough for them to do something to assist the Prowler since it has no discernable stealth capabilities at all.

    Thanks so much for making this video @FourFox! You are absolutely right on all counts. I have been a Prowler owner since before the nerfs and it just feels bad to fly this beautiful bird right now knowing what it should be. She’s still in my hanger but I’m eagerly anticipate the day she gets her time in the light again.

      Ehh, they typically prioritise ship stats around what values they want to test. Right now they have no dropship gameplay loops, so -- for as fr as I know -- they haven't really touched dropships. I recently rented the Valkyrie again and it still hasn't had a lot of passes other ships have received, so sadly all the dropships have been heavily neglected for the time being.

      There are about 12 to 14 major ships in the backlog, most of them need multiple systems before they can justify their size and role in the verse.
      Apollo
      Orion
      Liberator
      Crucible

      There are also about the same number of major features:
      Water / Weather
      Fire / extinguishers
      Pushpull / Bounty animations
      Engineering*
      Flight surfaces / driving rework
      Scanning / E warfare
      Maps / QT / markers
      Habs / Hangers / Roads*
      Munition / Armor
      Orbits/ Seasons
      As well as reworking four or five ships like the 600i, Caterpillar, modules etc
      We also know most of these mechanics* (not ships) will come with 3.20
      By the time 42 is ready to launch we should already have Pyro and Nyx, bringing the total number of systems to 5 or 6.
      They will also have around 1400 staff, and the resources to focus on bringing all ships up to the current standards with the relevant mechanics and features, as well as assemble larger teams to focus on legacy ships that remain like the Galaxy, Perseus, Polaris and Nautilus
      They're also changing up 42 material, so it suggests we are closer to the Beta than folks seem to realise

    in my oppinion its a awesome glass cannon with its 2xs5 guns and turret slaved to the pilot it has potential to hunt hammerheads but its HP and agility need buffing
    i use a redeemer as a bounty hunter and drop ship and its not getting messed up by stupid things like railguns from players and even if it lost an engine it can still fly ok id get out of atmospher asap tho because it just wants to roll over slowly but yea the prowler needs some huge work done for its price they are asking for

      o7 Yeah the redeemer is great. I personally didn't know that it had 102k HP till a few days ago when I was comparing HP. The Prowler is a lot of fun solo but you need to know its limits. I personally don't mind flying a slow potato, just wish it was a durable potato.

    Terrapin is the best dropship rn. More maneuverable, only 2km signature, and 110k hp. Love my prowler though, hope she is fixed/buffed.

    Marketed even to this day on the website as "Armored" but has less than 1/2 the hitpoints of the valk despite occupying 79% of the area by listed dimensions. But having only 27% of the mass leading me to conclude, that it's "Armor", and also the rest of it, is indeed made of papier-mâché

    Thank you for this video. I haven't flown the Prowler but can relate to the hull HP comments, due to the other ships I fly (such as the Valkyrie). Currently, ship shields and hull values are all over the place and don't really make sense. Stealth and Medium fighters have been broken for quite some time too. It's really odd to see that a Valkyrie (which is costlier than a Corsair), has a fraction of the shields. Seems much worse for the Prowler. Hopefully, it will at least get rappel mechanics once the rope and pulley systems are developed as part of SQ42 and need to be tested.

    Never understood changing the agility of the Prowler. Considering it has no ground support capable weapons for the troops to it really banks on the non-implemented stealth to drop off anyone safely. Additionally it lacks a lot of the internal features that other dedicated dropships have such as extra weapon/armor storage or cargo space for vehicles. And even when looking at damage output capabilities the Hoplite has superior firepower /and/ missiles. While it existed at a time were things were different, the sheer idea of just nerfing something then never circling back to it because this or that isn't implemented yet is one of the more frustrating elements of CIG's balance team.
    Tangentially related but they clearly acknowledged the projectile speed of canons has made them utterly useless yet they only updated the cannons on the Blade so only that ship can utilize them? Then they buffed physical damage but then increased resistance to at least 50% instead of just....reducing the damage by 50%.... It's been a year of Master Modes waiting room so hopefully that addresses issues with the Prowler's handling as well as that with other ships. I can only hope if we ever get to a Beta state that they actually balance things out with smaller, consistent tweaks instead of just big swings with the bat.

    Bruh, I tested the prowler yesterday and I was surprised how bad it was, from maneuverability to HP, I was at a derelict and bolted the moment I heard the Cutlass, I didnt even got to sit and fly away, had I known I would have just abandoned and hoofed it on foot. Only flew it again to get to Orison to pick up my C2 which got stored there during a 30k.

    I used to be a prowler owner and these issues are what made me melt it and be able to buyback if they ever fix them, I just think they need to go back and finall gold pass some older ships and also finally release ships we have been waiting for years, even if they did this ppl would buy new ships / concepts still

    Just saying, they are in the market to make money. Ship sales is the only thing that keeps this business afloat. So the more ships you buy the better they are off. If the game was completed and sold for say $70 they make more from dragging out game completion and selling the "new" ships is more profitable in the long term.

Got that from watching TH-camrs running bounties that can have Prowlers as targets now, the latter of which is quite nice. Luckily there are many ships to choose from, but the Prowler is still high on my list. I melted it some time ago to check other ships, until CIG fixes most issues with it. So far 3.20 seems better to me overall. But also many things for CIG to improve. For now I’ll enjoy the current F8C and somewhat ’fixed’ Ares Ion. Oh, and the Herald, lol. That one I got for fun and it grew an me. Not sure what it is good for, but it’s nice in a dirty way. Cheers and o7!

      @@fourfoxgaming Reporting back. I CCU’d to a Prowler (to get to a 600i) to check the status in 3.21. Well… for a moment I was tempted to keep it for a bit because of a twin AD5B loadout. However it quickly became obvious there are still too many issues with the Prowler. As I flew solo, I couldn’t test the turret/copilot bug. The various issues I came across, in no particular order, were:
      1) You lose the weapon/ammo indicators for the S5 hardpoint in the HUD after QT or external view (not sure which of the two - in any case it is a major issue especially with ballistics). Sometimes you can make them come back if you exit and enter your seat, but during combat that’s impractical.
      2) The QT animation is broken and I’d say jerking.
      3) It is still made of paper, can’t really survive a missile hit.
      4) The dropseats do not work! Which might be a bad thing, if this needs to be used for its intended purpose.
      5) The glow for the antigrav discs at the rear are still misaligned.
      I love the Prowler, but it’s in an almost unusable state. CIG should not sell these tbh, unless they made it ‘concept’ status again with benefits for the ‘pledgers’. I upgraded to a 600i with LTI and that’s that. For dropship needs, I can use my daily driver, which is the Valkyrie, which is such a great ship imho, without issues (it’s no combat ship, nor cargo hauler, but I appreciate the rest it can do). It even comes, if pledged, with a Super Hornet loaner, which is greater value (if still expensive) at $375 vs $440 for the Prowler. Even the Vanguard Hoplite is a far better dropship atm. Heck, the Cutlass Black (let’s not mention the Steel) is a better dropship for a fraction of the costs.
      For myself I’m tempted to change the Valkyrie in my fleet for the upcoming C1 Spirit (which is about to be released, it’s in the PTU already) and get a Hornet Ghost at the side and still have store credit left. But I’m not sure yet, as I really like the Valkyrie, even as a solo player.

      @@skullhqx I bring good news, the prowler HP got a major 4x buff in one of the new PTU. It sits at 80k HP now. Plus, I think the made the engine a bit faster but I have to specifically test that part out. The prowler isn't for everyone, the ship is for the people who love inconvenience lol. Again, Ive had it for so long and I still see tons of potential. Just have to chisel away at cig to fix all the issues with it.

    This doesn't consider the shields. When you take into account that the stock shields of the prowler block 100% of ballistics until theu go down; the hull hp although still a bit low holds up a bit better than one would expect with that number.

    100.000 Hull HP is crazy, it makes sense to give some 10-15k HP more to Prowler, reduce cutlass HP to 25-26k and add an extra shield(as the cutlass has space for it). i don't want to feel that Prowler is a P2W, it is expensive because of its features that are not implemented, but again, we can mitigate those not implemented features by giving more HP, but damn... 100K?
    I am a fan of Tevarin and own a Talon, I want a Prowler and I can save up money to get a Prowler, but I wish it had more utility and versatility, wish we could swap some chairs for some free/cargo space... That would make this ship much more interesting and versatile...
    The high price of the ship is because of tech that is not in game, so they should offer something to mitigate this, as the ship functionality is horrible compared to the price...

    I kinda agree, dropships should have one of 3 stats pretty much op.
    Armor/hp so they can drop under fire.
    Stealth so they can drop without ever being seen.
    Speed/manuverability so they can get in drop and get out quickly.
    Given that the prowler has very stron weapons, i think speed isnt an option, as it would put it into a dog fighter class.
    Since stealth isnt in game currently, anything listed as stealth should get a temp armor and hp buff which will be removed when stealth is back.
    Armor being the defacto option, most dropships should fall in this class.
    If you dont give dropships one of these stats buffed they will never be able to do their job.
    That being said, I disagree with the ground veicle comparason. Ground veichles should in general have much higher armor stats, as they are litterly sitting ducks. This is especially true for luxury ones they should have very high armor stats. Keep in mind that luxary ground veichles will be carrying arroynd the richest cargo, who greatly value making it safely to their destinations safely. So, implying they should have weak armor makes no sense, and shows a lac of understanding of what luxury means. These should be the best defended veichles. On par with militarry armor. At the same time the most costly to operate, as that armor and manuveravility comes at a cost usually in weight and fuel. And while they use more fuel, the tanks should be bigger to make up for this. As I said costly to operate, but should still be able to do their job.
    If you think rich pasangers just care about nice looking comfortable seats, in ship made of paper, making them easy targets for pirates then you seriously need to rethink what you would want if you were rich.

    All I hoped for since the concept design contest was a bed to log out in. If the Prowler had just that one amenity, I'd have some faith in its future stealth role. Without it, it is literally the #1 tragic flaw that always breaks the decision to invest in the rest of the fleet I'd love to build. Seriously CIG seems unconscious to the fact that many players want these expensive ships to be usable as something like a home base.

    As a Prowler (And dropship in general) fanatic. I agree with everything said. Granted, I also don't really see a current reason for dropships to exist in the world, outside of RP or player made events (Which are still important).
    Let us use our Dropships in Siege of Orison damnit! It would be an absolute blast, and a perfect way for CIG to test and check balances for dropships in general.

    Nice video, I agree with stage ship having a buff as you explained. However, they said the combat is being overhauled. Most of the changes are currently in SQ42 development, not seen in Star Citizen. When SQ42 is out then all ships will have their stats changed to meet the roles.
    I believe if they changed things now, it could cause other game bugs. This is probably why they haven’t.
    Your ship will get its fix when the mechanics of combat are fleshed out.
    Personally I don’t think a light fighter should easily solo a heavy fighter. As an example.

Also its not that cheap ingame, so to test it youd have to grind a fair bit, and i can imagine that people would rather straightup buy the arguably coolest looking ship currently flyable ingame...

      Honestly, it would make more sense if they make a tanky heavy fighter Tevarin ship and make the prowler a lot more agile and loose the weapons

    I remember pledging full money for the Prowler back in 2016. I was so stoked on this, as I always wanted a stealthy ship that could be like my own Pequod from MGSV and hold it’s own in a fight.
    I have since melted it for other stuff, but I may change that this alien week. 😮

    I too do love the prowler, while I don't own one for cash, I do buy them in game. All of your points are valid. I was flying the SotM Prowler and Was reminded that no matter how much I love this ship...it way underperforms. I remember when it first came out, it could take one S9 torp and be heavily damaged but flyable. Nice Vid!

    Great video, I hope one day CIG give this ship some love. When this thing first showed up, I had to have it, it was beautiful! I didn't get it right away, but when I did, I was so disappointed. I hit all those issues right away and I found it unusable. Such a shame. Everything about this thing is awesome on paper and one of the best looking ships in game.. but no. And yeah all hull HP is all over the place! Someone needs to align all ships to lore!

      that was me initially! at first, i couldn't ever imagine filling up 16 seats so i gave this ship a hard pass. but after the vanguard rework, it still kept those weird size 2's on the nose and couldn't understand why they couldn't just go with dual S5's. once i learned this was initially a 2 person ship with dual S5's, i locked in my CCU chain and its been with me now for close to 3 years.

      @@fourfoxgaming I'm a subscriber so I've just seem this has been added as the subscriber ship. I'll give it another go. When I flew it last time it needed vtol to stay up and didn't fly well in vtol so if that's fixed, I might get one and wait, at least it will fly! SO much potential on this beautiful ship, shame its been ignored so long.

    Great rundown. My favorite ship is fhe Valkyrie so, I feel your pain a little. I feel the Valkyrie platform can be used in so many ways. Its such a beautiful ship design wasted in one single use. I would gladly exchange my dropship for a cargo variant taking advantage of all that space bellow. The Prowler is in such a strange place. I often felt it could have been designed towards more of a ship boarding vessel than just a glorified stealth helicopter.

    You said a couple of times that the Prowler is the best drop ship money can buy. We all know this isn't the case. The best drop ship money can buy is the M2 Hercules, followed by the A2 Hercules.

    I don't have a prowler. And i don't need a dropship. But i'm with you. The prowler needs a serious buff.
    And why does CIG don't use the prowler to finally give us some more versatile alien ships. A prowler light cargo ship (able to fit a cyclon) or medical ship would be nice.

    It amazes me that people keep forgetting that the Prowler's primary roles is Stealth Boarding Vessel / Dropship. It is not merely a dropship. The Tavarin created it to board large enemy vessels. Do not forget to mention this. Don't let CIG keep this nurf in place as well.

    You bring up some good points but it's important to understand that drop ships and many aspects of ground combat simply are pipedreams as of this moment. Until physicalized damage is present we are left with HP pools acting as fudged shields. Since damage and weapons don't have balance yet we are left with a shell of what's supposed to come. I do appreciate the ship in many ways but I'm afraid it's going to be some time before drop ships get the love they deserve. ( I also imagine the team at CIG are already accounting for stealth to be a big factor in the gameplay of the prowler hence the lower HP)

    I'd give it better mobility but wouldn't change the hit points, i'd just give it a stronger Phalanx shield. Keeping in mind that the Phalanx shields have no bleed and are directional, it's pretty darn powerful.

    Honestly a basic way to make it better would be to give it more physical damage resistance and 1 Size 3 shield, no need to change the actual ship hp much other than increasing it to 25-30k hp
