Been using this for a few years now and it gets better and better with each version, the author is also working on a windows image manager as well so you will soon be able to modify Amiga hard disks in windows natively.
At last!! Been waiting on this for a long time. Brilliant. Many more on HSTWB please (3.9 and 3.2 as well).

hi thank you for doing all this to help people like myself new to the game but was one of the 1989 user now some things i hope you will do
1) show how to set the hard drive up to the size needed & how to format it to the fat 95 / or fat 32 i dont know as i have fund someone say its 95 others say 32.
2 ) then show how to install adf games on to a cf from pc to go to amiga
3 ) how to setup a usb stick for gotek as well as to install other things like d copy x copy and other tools needed on an amiga 600 &1200 & what programes needed but show close up on your video without it been fade thank you
Fantastic job, followed you through, got mine up and running sweet. the ways i`ve tried are alittle baffling to say the least with WINaue. just waiting on my Pistorm. 3.2 Roms at the ready :D
This is a very nice solution... for WinUAE! 13:49 I doubt that an HD image file put on an (in my case) SD card wil actually boot up properly on a real Amiga (1200 in my case).
I tried an 8GB image which contains a CF installation of OS 3.1 and put that on a 16GB SD card. This card boots up perfectly fine in WinUAE, but it doesn't on my Amiga! The "insert floppy" screen appears and I have to reset the Amiga at least four to six times. Then it boots up into Workbench and everything works fine! 😮
A fresh installation of OS 3.1 (or 3.2) on that SD card using WinUAE, boots up instantly on real Hardware. So atm (I'm new in Amiga stuff I have to admit) I don't really trust these image files, which were not made from your own SD/CF card.
Writing a hard drive image to SD card does work. I've done this many times. What software are you using? Maybe try different brand of card. Can assure you this does work. :-)
@@MikeyGRetro Oh, I forgot to mention that I also wrote that particular image on a 8GB CF card, for testing purposes (I have both adapters for the Amiga). This way it works! So maybe it's the different GB-size of the SD cards, or because it's an image of a CF card. I use Win32DiskImager.
I already tried Sandisk Ultra and Transcend micro-SD cards with same results. Works with fresh install of OS, doesn't work (properly) with the image! 🤔
Just viewed this one and wanted to say thanks again. I got it running ok except for a couple of things:
1) The WHDLoad game icons appear as a small dot rather than the full size icons of the box art which is odd (clicking that still works though)
2) Double clicking Igame does not do anything... I viewed your igame video which I realise did not use HSTWB to get the install of WB done BUT I added the FPU changes and igame still does not work. No error message produced either - any ideas welcome!

None of this worked for me at all. Ive installed it in the past but no OS detected no kick detected. All files are in the appropriate folders. Keeps skipping to install from floppy. Cant select Better WB or HSTWB to install. Not even the help file opens. I have WB 3.1.4 from hyperion. I just dont know what Im doing wrong. HELP!
i just got a 3.1.4 rom for my A600 will try this no my real amiga
it doesn't work. I put in the 3.2 ADF's and the ROM (renamed). Run the script. And it thinks it has to install 3.1 - getting an error on the Amiga side saying there is a mismatch between OS and ROM. And all of a sudden there are 3.10 ADFs in the AmigaOS dire that were not there. Strange.
shouldn’t be a need to rename the 3.2 roms. maybe try copying them from the disc again and try again. 😀
It is high time the Amiga ROMs are made copyleft, so real novelty can be added by enthusiasts.
Great video again but can you do one for Linux please. Not everyone uses windows!
I recently did a video for Linux looking at FS-UAE.
HSTWB does have linux scripts but it works pretty much the same.
Let me know what you want me to cover on Linux specifically.
@@MikeyGRetro Thanks for info, I've used FSUAE. No reason why a lot of HSTWB installer can't be adapted for Linux. Enjoyed your video and grateful for the time you spend on these. Keeping the Amiga alive.
