  • Hi guys! Here's a little informational video about everything you wanted to know about being a flight attendant in 2021! I really hope this helps you gain some insight into the aviation industry. It's not all-encompassing, but I tried my best to touch on the most common things I'm asked about being a flight attendant.
I'm super excited to get back to the air next month. Many US airlines are hiring so please apply if you think you may be a good fit! They usually only open their applications for a few weeks once a year. See below for two books (recommended by other FAs) that might be helpful in your interview preparation process.
The edit for this video isn't my best, but I wanted to get it up for you without my perfectionism delaying it any longer. Please lmk if you have any questions about flying. Hope to share more of life in the air soon as well as my recent travels to Iceland & the Faroe Islands. Then once I'm done with my October flying it's back to Oki for me, yay! Thanks for coming along for the ride!

I stumbled upon your channel by chance but for a couple of reasons, I think. Okinawa is the favorite place of mine. Growing up in Japan, I went to Okinawa every year as soon as I was able to work (age 15 or 16 I can’t remember). I’d work all year everyday after school to save up money for my Okinawa trips. Fast forward to a few decades - I got hired as a flight attendant in February of 2020, that’s right, just before the whole Covid thing started. Needless to say, my training was postponed and is now estimated to start in February 2022. Thankfully, the only airline I was interested in and applied for hired me. I can’t wait to join the company (I have a sneaky suspicion that it’s the same airline that you work for). I am very impressed with your style, attitude, and how articulate you are. Very refreshing in this somewhat gimmick-filled TH-cam environment. Looking forward to more videos to come especially about your transpacific commute and your life in two continents!

Oh my gosh this just made my day reading this! First off all congrats on getting hired! Sounds like you picked a great airline 😊 I truly appreciate the kind words too. Okinawa is a beautiful place- i can definitely see why you'd want to travel there as much as possible! Despite the long commute we are hoping to extend our time there & I'm trying to learn Japanese 🙏 Best of luck come February & hope to meet you on the line 🙌

I love your videos! Lots of great info! I also live in Okinawa and I'm considering applying to Delta. I'm debating on whether or not to apply for the LOD Japanese position or just the regular one. My Japanese is conversational but Kanji and reading I struggle with a little bit. Do you have any advice?

that's amazing! if you aren't fluent I would definitely recommend applying for the non-LOD position. I have been told that you are required to read the announcements as part of the interview so reading is important. a third party does the language testing, and you categorize you into fluent or non-fluent after testing. But since you can speak it I'd definitely recommend keeping up with it! Then if you get the non-lod position, you can always take the language test once you're with the company & feel ready!
