I kinda like that they don't. Its kindof like after all tge trendy Leatherman styles came out they stood behind their product for the classic it already was. That said, I'd def also be more likely to covet their offering in any dept.
I waited til I was 12 to get my Grandfather's red Camper swiss. He died before I was born and my Dad alwats said it would be mine.
I carried it everywhere. It never left my pocket. I had it 4 years and then one day on tge way to my cousin's wedding, an airport employee threw it in a trash barrel as we were boarding. It was 1996 and I was a shy kid and had no recourse. It breaks my heart to this day.
I have never replaced it but this channel makes me want to.
I have no use for a corkscrew so I think I want tge hiker. It seems to be the same but with a full sized Phillips where the corkscrew was.

While the description says "tool only" it does come with one each of a bi-metal th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI and HCS blade plus an adaptor plate for non-DeWalt blades. Wish I had known that before I bought the blade kit, but oh well. Since I already have a DeWalt drill, charger and batteries there was no need to buy more of those so this was a great deal. There is one other consideration. DeWalt does't sell the depth guide separately so you need to buy the three parts which make it up -- the N275350 block assy, the N275341 metal rod and the N278801 knob. Amazon does sell all three.

I am south Korean and I asked the official importer of Leatherman in Korea if PS4 was confirmed to be discontinued. And they said that Leatherman's side answered like this.
Keychain products cannot be sustained under current conditions, and if they continue to be released, the price will have to increase significantly due to various environmental changes related to production.
That brings us closer to the consumer price of the lower-priced product of the traditional generic model. However, the answer was that as a result, it was judged that it was not marketable.
Therefore, Leatherman has decided to discontinue the current keychain models. However, as always, if market demands or variables occur, the price will rise a lot, and there is a possibility of resuming, but that is also a low probability.
The sentence can be awkward using a translator.

Got the SOG Snippet and Powerpint (2 of these). They're hands down the best I've used. Pliers have incredibly strength and rigidity for the size and I often prefer them over full size for the power. The Snippet scissors cut better than some of my full size scissors. Both are a little pricey, but so so worth it. SOG makes some quality tools. I also have the Gerber Dime and the pliers on it are VERY light duty. I have that on my keys as a backup only. I have a Leatherman Skeletool and carry that for its knife. It's a heavier duty pliers but I prefer the Powerpint for the precision and grip strength.

Thanks for another great video! I ran across a tiny little multi tool at a flea market. It reads Sheffield stainless steel on the body of the tool & weighs in at 1.86 ounces. I opened up all of the tools & they are solid strong. The scissors work great, there's also 2 small flat drivers, small Phillips, awl, blade, can opener & file. The spring loaded plier & wire cutter are solid. It looks like a tiny Leatherman with those same knurled screws that you need a special tool or vicegrips for. It's seems like the same quality you'd get with a Leatherman too. I gave the guy $5 for it. It needs work though as the side with the blade, file, larger flat head & awl are so difficult to take out it's almost unusable. I'm going to try flushing with oil & cleaning it up before I try loosening those screws.

Really well done video! Thank you for putting this together. I’ve been looking for a multitool smaller than the Leatherman Surge. I like the Surge but it can be a bit heavy and want something with similar tools, definitely as reliable as a Leatherman, but not some cheaply made knockoff from China/India junk. It’s also good to learn that there are “tsa friendly” multi tools out there, when traveling. What is most important to me as I’m searching for the “right” multitool, is how it fits in my hands, do the tools lock, and how well they are made.

VERY informative video with good metrics of comparison. Much good to choose from - there will likely never be a dearth of tools to suit our purposes despite the unavailability of the great Leatherman Squirt. I have had several Nextool Mini-flagships. While the scissors cut wonderfully, they are not at all comfortable to use for my hands. Bordering on painful. Too thin, a vestige of the design of the tool to make everything fit.

That was an informative clip and well done. I’m 75 and have never owned a multi tool. A little slow on the uptake, you say?
So……in an effort to make my life complete and close the circle on my Smart Watch, I recently ordered two Leatherman PS models from Blades Canada. One was for my son-in-law.
However, he may never get it.
That’s because the tweezers on the PS are nearly impossible to remove. So one actually requires a second PS to remove the tweezers from the first.
You have to hand it to the genius marketing people at Leatherman who came up with that requirement.
But it’s a cute tool and I like it. And BTW……once you get the tweezers removed, the Victorinox tweezers are almost a fit, protruding only slightly………which I can live with.
Now this is all rather silly, because I almost NEVER use tweezers. Go figure.
    Thanks for the great clip.

I still don't understand why they decided to stop production of the Leatherman Squirt PS4. It was the perfect little multi-tool in every way. I lost a Leatherman Squirt PS4 a couple of months ago (still hoping it's at home somewhere) and when I tried to buy a new one, Leatherman no longer makes it.. I looked on ebay and saw that new Leatherman Squirt PS4s from various sellers are on sale now at speculative prices... I wrote a letter to Leatherman to explain why they stopped making the best mini multitool, but I did not receive a coherent answer. It seems to me that they have some kind of serious problem, maybe with some kind of supplies ... I don’t know. So I started looking at the Leatherman Micra. It looks interesting, but all the tools are available only after opening, plus this stupid nail file ... I don’t understand why it’s there .. Therefore, I’m already looking at Leatherman FREE T4 and now I’m choosing between T4 and Micra. Both are compromise options for me. The rest of the multitools are NOT made in the USA, and therefore do not interest me. Maybe Victorinox has a little chance...

    Ha!! My thoughts exactly.
The SOG power pint could be perfect if it was smoother in the pocket and they ditch the seatbelt cutter, awl and jewlers screw drivers and useless scissors and needless fingernail file
Use the free-ed up space to add a proper no. 2 phillips and a decent snipper.

Me personally, have classic sd victorinox, my favourite, combined with light and small (£10 bill) container, and my keys are always in my pocket. Dime looks like a good bargain. I feel the exact same way about the Dime.. that package opener is awesome, I use it wayyy more than the blade. I would trade the blade for a full size file or a philips with some reach.
I do like the bottle opener simply because the type of venue I would carry the Dime at often happens to be the type of venue where I might have to open a fancy craft beer or three. Gerber Dime + bic lighter make a great combination for a watch pocket when you're out on the town and don't want a full size MT drawing attention.
I've been carrying the Dime as my "fancy clothes" or "sensitive area" multitool for like 10 years. Never had a complaint about it. I work in the trades so I usually carry a heavier LM, but on days when I'm in and out of union meetings or whatnot, I often watch pocket a Dime + Supertinker combo.

Squirt s4 all the way, to the point that I bought a lot of 6 of them on ebay when i lost mine. Leatherman still sold them at the time but had gone back to the old design with the tools on the inside. Also my squirt s4 has tweezers, did the pliers version of the squirt not have tweezers? Or was it the version with the tools inside that had no tweezers?

About 6 years ago there was a Christmas sale on the Gerber Dime for $10. I bought 6. 4 for gifts and I kept two. Since then I bought 2 more so I have one for each car. I really like the Dime. The package opener is the best. I've used all kinds of knives and cutting utensils, but this one is kinda perfect. And when I let my kid use it to open a box, it's one of those angled blades so it won't cut the item in the box. It's always in my pocket. The scissors are the weak point. They are fine for light use, but not much more. No worse than most other pocket multi tools.

Hello, i have question i live in Germany and law here is ridiculous that i cannot carry multitool that is 1h what i mean is that i can open knife with 1h. I need to have it in a closed tool box or bag/backpack also closed, as i want something on my belt or pocket i need multitool and a knife that is not 1h open like Leatherman rebar for example or victorinox sak. Do you know any multitools like those but more budget friendly and knifes? I bought bibury pro which is a daicamping dl30 love it but can have it only hide and closed. I was thinking about roxon m2,m3 or nextool mini sailor, or gerber, sog power but don't know any knifes that needs 2 hands to open can recommend something. My Swiss Army Explorer is fine for light duty as a standalone, but I need the pliers of the Rebar (and of course I own one) more often and I’m willing to carry 2 items if one is small enough. I like T4 Leatherman but I don’t know if I want the bulk. The Micra looks solid too. I’ve never had any luck with SOG and the Gerbers seem to be too small. Or am I just SOL?

Not necessarily tiny swiss army knife, but for example the Nextool one hand pocket knife multitool, Gerber prybrid, niteize doohickey, the super generic carabiner knife with bottle opener flat/philips
Smaller in the sese of no pliers so only half the handle size at 1 instead of 2, or less blades/flipouts so its flatter and thinner. Idk if the term is still multitool for some of these but theres alot of different cool products out there without any comparisons on quality and you got some good points on quality
