How did I miss this one??! I absolutely enjoyed every aspect of this build! Paint work is excellent, detail is amazing! Nice to see this rescue kit turned into a head turner! Thanks Doug!!
John, Glad you enjoyed it! -Doug
Great rescue of that old kit ! I have one from the original issue i found at a yard sale ! Unbuilt and all there .Boy what a find, one of those one in a million treasures. So now I'm building it instead of stashing it. A lot of warping, but a wooden fixture and a hair dryer took care of that. Glad to see you building this classic kit ! keep building Doug, enjoyed the video. It made me want to build my treasure ! Cheers Doug !
Joe, Very cool! You've found a real gem. Have fun! PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
Wow, Doug! What a beautiful save! I found your gentle reminders that patience, ingenuity, and determination will lead to success inspiring. Thank-you for that. All the best of the holiday season to you and your loved ones.

Wow, 1/8 scale, the largest car I've built was the 1/16, and large scale is prime for added detail. I love yard sales and online auctions for rescue models, but your find tops it. 10 years ago some rescues were hardly realistic, aftermarket and tech make the rescue fun yet still callenging. Great review, it was an awsome build, one to be proud of. Thanks.
Thanks Travis, that's right nice of ya to say! -Doug
This is a rare kit indeed! I never knew Monogram ever made 1/8 scale car model and I've never seen this featured or mentioned in any hobby magazine. Well, you did a great job on this gorgeous hot rod!! Cheers!!

Doug, Monogram made the '32, a T bucket and a T tub in 1/8 scale. I had the Tub. Also, they made a Chevy V8 in the same scale that was motorized. It came interchangeable parts--3 deuce manifold, top mounted blower set-up, and the Potvin front mounted blower. The different manifolds and blowers were snap-fit on the block. Had fun changing the looks of the Tub engine with parts from the engine kit.
Awesome size, love this scale .
So worth the time and effort . Your directions and instructions are spot on .
Car came out great 👍.
Mike Espo .
Mike, Thank you very much! -Doug
Wonderful rescue. Looks to me like this rescue and build into a first class model took some advanced skills. I can't tell the difference between the original taillight red tinted and the homemade replacement. You can't tell the frame was ever damaged. Glad you could find a new grill shell. Shows you how far the model hobby has come. I always liked Monogram models. I can't remember being disappointed by them when I was building in the 1960s. So I am surprised they left out the fan and fuel pump for an otherwise nicely detailed eng in ne, right down to spark plugs. Happy new year from the snowy west.
Pat, Nice summary and thanks for watching. I've heard that some of the later issues had fixed some of those errors! -Doug
Awesome! I built 2 of these as a kid. Loved the large scale. I especially like all the hoses that came with it.👍👍
RB, Yep, it's packed with detail. Thanks! -Doug
I picked one up at a model club I belong to. The chassis and engine were partially built (very nicely) and the rest was unassembled. Being a Monogram kit, the quality is first rate. I`ll leave it in the black it was molded in because the factory paint job is as good, if not better than the rattle cans I would use because it looks like it was pre gloss coated and waxed. I`ll probably put in carpet and upholsture the seat with white leather. I`m also considering making the head and tail lights work. This was a find, well worth the fifteen bucks I paid for it. I can`t wait to start it, but that 1-350 scale Minicraft 'Titanic' is still on the workbench!
Brer, Cha-ching, you got a deal! I've addressed a lot of the kit's issues in this review that you'll find helpful as you proceed. Thanks for watching and if you like what you see please subscribe, if you haven't already, to help us inspire more modelers! -Doug

Had this kit twice in different releases and sold them when times got hard...... Maybe someday I'll get one again. Great kit and there's a lot of super detailing that can be done with it. Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year! Doug!
Mo, Thanks for sharing! -Doug
Glad you could make a great looking model out of it.
WH, Thanks, It took some patience but I love the way it turned out! -Doug
What a beautiful job you have done on this 32 Hot Rod sir, paint color choice is spot on. I don't build this size only 1/24-25, l built 2 lg scales long ago, don't have them anymore tho. Best build on this channel so far, Happy Holiday!

Great job.... love those mega sized models, especially at a good price ! ✌😎
BB, Thanks dude. Sometimes the bargains can be rescued! -Doug
Awesome job, I built the white box version in the 70s, I seem to remember the fuel line connected to the fire wall. One of the gauge decals was a fuel pressure. I got one of the later versions in my stash, it has a proper flathead V8
S, Interesting variation. Thanks for sharing! PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
You could scratch build an electric fuel pump mounted by the gas tank and fashion a fuel pump block off plate on the engine. On my real car I needed a fuel return line and a pressure regulator, this was for a Holley 4bbl on a built 440.
SF, Right you are and thanks for the tip! -Doug
Picked up one of these kits a couple of years ago box was water damaged but everything inside was still sealed and build ready

I have a few large scale 1/8 and they are sought after collectibles I had the famous 27 golden t bucket with all the brass equipment of 57 Chevy a 34 hot rod a 68 Camaro and the famous bandit trans am they're all hard to get but this one would be a beauty dad to the collection

Nice build! This is an odd reissue of the Big Deuce in that it didn't include the update parts that were added in the '90s when Revell hired ROD&CUSTOM magazine Editor Pat Ganahl to modernize the Big T and the Deuce. I did the Model Column in R&C from '95-98, never got around to doing a finished Deuce.
Nice job on a 70s era, colorful streeter, and accurate to 1:1 except for the combined hood/radiator shell. I'll let that slide... THIS time. Nice work!
Thanks Rick, That means a lot coming from you! -Doug
Nice vid...........Nothing says Hot Rod like a '32 😊😊😊
Right on TP! -Doug
Awesome
Thank you Sam! PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
That turned out really nice. I make a boatload of aftermarket parts for this kit. If you ever need any missing parts or just want to dress it up, come find us on Facebook groups HOTRODZRUS SCALE MODEL CARS. I even make coupe and sedan bodies for this.
Jim, Thanks for the info we'll keep that in mind! PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
Jim, BTW - Do you make the fan, fan mount and fuel pump that are missing from this model? How about the frame itself? -Doug
@@RightOnReplicas I make the fan and I have a Buick nailhead engine that has a fuel pump so I'm sure it could be modified to work. I also sell rolling chassis, bodies flathead and Pontiac engines. I have over 200 items in my catalog. I'm currently working on the yellow coupe in american graffiti the iconic 32 ford 5 window coupe.
Is that a Pontiac V-8?
Walt, Yes, it's the 421 cid unit from 1961. PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
