In 1915, the massive Mack AC "Bulldog" ushered in a new era in the annals of American trucking, and the graceful sloping hood and growl of a brutish four-cylinder engine came to represent the standard of reliability of a new breed of commercial "workhorse".
The sturdy construction of the Mack fostered the expression "built like a Mack", and by the 1920's these rugged machines could be seen laboring in an endless variety of arduous tasks. Whether transporting or hauling giant logs in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, the rugged Mack mastered each new challenge with ease.
Your 1926 Mack AC Bulldog is a highly detailed replica. You will create a museum quality replica of the 4 cylinder power plant that enabled this truck to transport the newly-cut logs to nearby mills. Your model is fitted with tires similar to the solid rubber tires that were on the original trucks. When you have completed your Mack Logger, you will have a detailed model of a famous trucking pioneer.

1/24 Scale 1926 Mack AC Bulldog Logging Truck Atlantis Toy and Hobby Monogram 2401
Mack Trucks, Inc., is an American truck manufacturing company and a former manufacturer of buses and trolley buses. Founded in 1900 as the Mack Brothers Company, it manufactured its first truck in 1905 and adopted its present name in 1922.[1] Mack Trucks is a subsidiary of AB Volvo, which purchased Mack along with its then parent company Renault Véhicules Industriels in 2000.[2]
Founded originally in Brooklyn, New York in 1900, the company's headquarters were moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1905 where they remained until 2009. In 2009, its headquarters were relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina.[3] Mack products are produced in Lower Macungie, Pennsylvania,[4] and Salem, Virginia,[5] with all powertrain products produced in its Hagerstown, Maryland plant. Mack also maintains additional assembly plants in Pennsylvania, Australia, and Venezuela. The company also once maintained plants in Hayward, California and Oakville, Ontario, though both of these have been closed.
The heavy-duty AC, with its well-known tapered hood, was the truck which started the bulldog theme. A 377 cu in (6.2 L) 4 cylinder gasoline engine 4X2 with chain drive, it was strong, reliable, and worked well in rough terrain. Introduced in 1916, there was a great demand because of World War I, over 6000 3+1⁄2-, 5+1⁄2-, and 7+1⁄2-ton trucks were built for the UK and US military. There were also commercial sales from 1916; the AC was well suited for logging and construction work. A larger version, the AP, built between 1926 and 1938, was an off-road haul truck used on Boulder Dam and other large projects. 40,299 ACs had been built when production ended in 1939.
The Mack B series models were Mack's primary vehicle from its introduction in 1953 until it was replaced by the R Series in 1966. They ranged in size from the medium duty B20P gas powered 4X2 to the oversized B873SX turbo-diesel 6X6. B Models were commonly used as semi tractors and in the construction industry. They were also used as fire engines and trucks, sometimes with the roof of the cab removed. 127,786 B Models were built.
By 1916 Mack was producing 4- and 6-cylinder gasoline engines, and through 2014 continued to offer their own, in the form of three diesel I6s. Engines by other manufacturers were often optional, supplied over the years by Caterpillar, Cummins, Chrysler, Detroit Diesel, Hercules, Scania, and Waukesha.
Mack started making diesels in 1938, in 1957 the END and turbocharged ENDT 673 diesel were introduced. This 672 cu in (11.0 L) I6 engine family was successful, and remained in production for over 30 years.
I'm partial to the Texaco tanker version- my grandfather retired from Texaco after 56 yrs of service where he became head of the labor union! When he started they rode bicycles around the plant to get from place to place! He drove the old Mac's too!
I built the dump truck when it first came out, I can’t wait to do them all again
I like this truck amazing very nice.
My all time favourite Mack AC truck was Monogram's Custom "Beer Wagon". Love the Atlantis new release.
This looks ready to drive right off of my screen - with a clown car close behind. Fun build. Thanks for sharing...
Glad you like it!
Looks great ! You can tell you like them old macks you can hear it in your voice where you telling about them
Another fine build Chris Thank You for sharing with Us here on the tube. I will be looking into these kits from Atlantis! Awesome! Looking forward to the next video! Later
Well, a great build again 👍
Very nice. I’m building this now for the big rig group build. To my knowledge there were four. 1) logging truck, 2) tanker, 3) stake body, and a dump truck. I finally have all four. Two monogram, two Atlantis.
Great looking circus truck.
Thanks!
I didn't know that I needed these trucks 😮
I like it . Yes . It would be nice to see other versions. Thanks.
I've been wanting to build one of these '26 Mack trucks! I'll be snagging one for sure! Excellent work Sir!
Another great kit and a awesome build. 👍
I found an old Monogram Mack Tanker at a model show a few months ago. I've been wanting one since I was a kid.
I be honest Chris however you do it I respect but I try ckick on thumb nail with my eyes blur so I can't tell what it looks like built till the end cause I like surprises lol I do like thumbnails of the box art. But anyway no matter how you do it I will respect. Great Build!!
Monogram also did a nice dump bed version.
Great looking old Mack. I have all 4 in this series under the original Monogram brand, but haven't built any of them yet. Yep, there are 4 of them. The 4th being a dump truck. Hopefully Atlantis will repop the other 2 so you can have the full set.
Excellent kit ,great build looks brilliant
Really nice build Chris, I totally dig the the color choices and wood grain detailing ❤!!
Had to comment again just ordered one your excitement got me to buy a truck something I really don't but you saying beer truck I have like 30 wood kegs ! Great work !!!
Enjoy!
Great build Chris! I was so glad to see this one reissued! Had it when I was a kid but got rid of it years ago. I got mine this week and am deep into the build already!😊
Great work Chris.
You are a true artist.
love the older trucks! i have the logging truck that you did
Very cool!
Well, I can’t pass up this kit. I loved the logging kit and this one will be no different. That Monogram Mack is such an excellent kit. I love that Atlantis is repopping these.
Great video Chris. I got a question for you. With all the builds you,'ve done, have you ever got so frustrated with one that you threw it against the wall?😊 Keep em coming, i'll keep watching.
The evil iron trike is getting close.
I know I have......or blew 'em up with M-80's.......
I did that as a little kid, and then fixed it.
I've gotten incredibly frustrated and cussed out a kit before, especially that 55 that took a week to paint.
Really nice build Chris. Love the circus theme, have some great ideas for my version. Thanks Chris, thanks Atlantis. Nice job.!!!!
Thanks for introducing us to these really nice kits. Yours came out great in spite of the time restraints. Ordered the log hauler, couldn't resist. 1:24 scale was what sold me. I have other models in that scale and actually love that scale for vehicles. I'm weining myself off of 1:25 but it's not been easy. lol
Hope you enjoy it!
I am building this truck by taking out 1 1/8 inch from the frame to make the chain drive closer to the cab. Ringling never had a truck with a bed like what comes in the kit.
Need Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins decals for that! Black 'n Yellow, Black n' Yellow...........Old Macks were famous for their chain drive.....
nice one, i build the dump truck from monogram and the tanker truck is in my stash. That bottle on the left fender is a petrol tank with fuel for the headlights.
Thanks for the info on the tank!
Really nice job Chris, looks great. Nice weathering and wear!
Absolutely Stunning Results Chris,,, I L❤️VE IT 🏆🏆🏆🏆 I've Also Got All Of The " ORIGINAL " MONOGRAM Series Too But as Of Now None Built. Perhaps SOON I'm NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER These Days 😤😤. Thanks For Sharing n GBA 🤗 Gary.
Thanks Gary!
Awesome build mate👍
Glad you like it!
Really cool!
Hi Chris. Love your ability when working on your kits. I have tried some of your techniques with great results. When you mentioned a beer truck I remembered a version of that year truck but it was a street rod / custom called the Beer Wagon by Monogram.
Yes, that is a much smaller kit and I've built that on the channel. :)
Logging, tank, stake and dump versions.
I hope I get to build the other two!
@@hpiguy you mentioned other options, it would be nice if they made a box/ dry goods van as well.
Really nice
Thank you! Cheers!
👍👍
Cool rig, I was wondering about the Atlantis kits for s while. You just sold me on them. Now I have a question for all you experienced modelers. I am having issues with todays plastic cement, have tried 6 different cements an seam to having a problem with them actually holding the parts together. I've cleaned, sanded, held for more that 20 seconds, even Testors doesn't work like it used to, gets stringy. Does anybody else have these issues, or is it me. I've been at this for over 20 years and now its frustrating me. I have used super glue ,but I'm not a fan. So the question is do any of you guys have a solution or is it just a sign of the times.
Modern liquid plastic cements are leagues above anything we had in the past.
I use Plastruct Bondene and it works very well.
Stay away from the gooey Testors in the tube and use the clear liquid cements, all the ones on the market work great.
I couldn't tell you why you're having issues, but I've never encountered any problems with Tamiya, Testors, Plastruct, Revell etc liquids.
You see me use them in every single video without a problem. Thanks and enjoy!
Love what you do it’s so helpful to me 👍🏼 What kind of brush on glue do you use?
Plastruct Bondene, modelroundup.com stocks it, thanks!
Chris... I think they did a dump truck in this series!
Awesome!
Just an FYI: The "fire extinguisher" is actually an acetylene generator for the gas-fired headlights.
Was it brass or painted steel? I've the same question about the lamps.
I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I have seen both painted steel and brass acetylene generators. I couldn't tell you what Mack was using that late in the game.

True!
looks awesome!! Will keep an eye out for the kit at my LHS..
