For those asking he removed the 2 rear cats on a dual exhaust with 4 cats, the downstream o2 sensor is placed before the rear cats meaning it will not throw a check engine light to remove the 2 rear cats. Pair that with a drop in K&N air filter or even a good CAI and it brings these cars to life.
@@briankrasne3518 I live in IL to just make sure there's no check engine lights aftet you delete the 2nd cats. And be careful of the o2 sensors. If your car throws a code just get a OBD2 reader and delete the code and you should be fine I didnf have troubles when I deleted my 2nd cats but my friends vic kept throwing a code so he just deleted it before he went to go pass smog and he passed
these cars have 4 cats, 2 on each header. if you just delete the secondaries there will be no codes as there are no 02 sensors there but if you delete all 4 there will be.
It depends on the type and construction of the muffler. Most OEM mufflers are restrictive -- and some types (like glasspacks) are more restrictive than others. Example: Some glasspacks have a center tube that has LOUVERS that give more restriction in one direction than the other. That type is "directional". No Bueno !! I use and recommend the MAGNAFLOW Glasspacks, because they DON'T have Louvers protruding into the exhaust-gas flow = more power AND better fuel economy. Most importantly, DO NOT remove the Catalytic Converters. There is NO GOOD REASON for breaking Federal Law OR for polluting our air.
Which one gives me better gas mileage and HP? Delete all 4 cats? Straight pipe? Catback system? Headers? Wt heck its confusing. Im mainly looking to save gas and HP. And if sound comes with this so be it.
@@miamimagicians " Glass Pack" is a type of muffler that features woven FibreGlas packing, wrapped around a perforated center tube, and covered with a bullet-shaped steel body. Glasspax are cheaper and generally longer-lasting than OEMs or those expensive (but popular) FlowMasters.
It's LOUD inside -- but the worst part is the severe DRONING on the open highway. Cat removal is all-ways a bad idea, but punks and dummies keep doing it anyways. Ya can't fix stupid. 😁

Blows my mind how many people think they are called Cadillac converters 🤦♂️
New subscriber here! The neighbor walked by starring so angrily like "what are these boys up to now?" Hahaha
You know that old man was thinking, "well there goes my nap time".
😅 hell yeah
They always put extra parts on cars that you don't need. 😆
Got a question bro , I got a 2009 grand marquis and was told these cars have 4 cats is that true
Yes
Theres 4 cats
2 pre cats and 2 rear cats, the rear cats are right after the o2 sensor
MrWeathers17 so cutting rear cats off won’t cause engine light?
@@DownShiftDrew nope
MrWeathers17 bet
They forgot to say hold my beer and watch this !
Why the whistling noise? Sounds absolutely terrible... wanna do this to my grand marquis but that sound is a huge turn off
Cus he unplugged the vacuum line
That whisling noise was there from the start , its not caused by the the cat delete
It happens when the weather is too humid
Mine random made that noise for 2 minutes only on a morning startup. Not sure what it was yet
So this will not cause check engine light!
If I do this to my 03 grand marquis will it still pass the emissions!
Depends were you live
The secondary cats do not cause a check engine light code.

Probably a dumb question but a muffler is a hp restrictor as well, right? Just recently deleted mine on my 97 MGM

Take all four out and run dual glass packs
What is a glass pack?

How does deleting affect the car and what does it do to the mpg?
More hp better mpg.
How loud is it in the inside
I have my marquis done the same way. It’s fucking loud lol

Might want to think about some new tires too.

Why did you unplug that pump
