Where Victoria's Secret is in this video (to the left of Bergner's) used to be a coffee shop I worked at. This was back in like 2014. At Christmas, they put up a massive Christmas tree in the middle of the plaza. They still might. Old Grand Prairie... the movie theater there (started as RAVE, then Carmike then AMC) is still going. A time capsule out of the early 2000s.
@@mallaholicretailadventures I figured since the CAT plant they have is still operating. As long as that's still there, they should be fine along with Morton
@@mallaholicretailadventures Chances are that the furniture store has a very short-term lease and will have to vacate quickly if the center's operator finds a better tenant. Note that there's just a temporary banner sign. Furniture and mattress stores usually are fine with those sorts of arrangements as they require very few fixtures and therefore can relocate on short notice.
I agree

Is East Peoria still hanging on at least in terms of retail or it's starting to die off too?
Its hanging on

Great video. I live in Peoria. Did you go by the abandoned Kmart on Lake Av?
I did that in 2019
What they did to Bergners was low...
Also it’s crazy how Peoria doesn’t resist have a great mall or major department store anymore.
Yeah, it seems like the cowards way out to have an overpriced furniture liquidator store. Should have tried to attract a better tenant.
@@mallaholicretailadventures I’ve always said Dillards should expand where The Bon Stores used to be. It’s prime real estate.
