    This is briliant! Thank you very much for this lecture. It was beautiful and eye-opening for many "irrational" procedures in this Mazurka. :)

    Thank you for playing the last part slowly for us. DIVINE is the right word to describe it!

    It sounds like you are saying that, every "pure" human emotion has a key that expresses this emotion most accurately. And that a man living 180 years ago from across the planet living in a different culture, can resonate emotionally perfectly with a person from today's world through the medium of music. These 24 keys can cross the boundaries of time/sex/culture.

    This is a wonderfully insightful and helpful lecture/tutorial. At present I am considering whether to embark upon the project of learning this mazurka and you have given me much to think about! Thank you!

    I just noticed that you play 2:54-2:56 differently than you did in the Polish version! Is there a reason for the difference? (I think I prefer this one, haha)

    • @gregniemczuk
      @gregniemczuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmmmm, what's exactly the difference?

    • @keegansimyh
      @keegansimyh ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregniemczuk I might be hearing things, but the C#-D#-C# has a dimuendo before it in the Polish version (in the full performance at the end) and only after it in the English version. Maybe you didn't do it intentionally but I found it interesting!

    • @gregniemczuk
      @gregniemczuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@keegansimyh wow, what ears you have!!! Yes, I change my interpretations details sometimes. That's true. It's not intentional

    I think this is probably my favorite Mazurka! Is it bad that I love almost all the Mazurkas but almost none of the Nocturnes?

    • @gregniemczuk
      @gregniemczuk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's interesting! It's not bad at all, it corresponds with your soul!

      how much time did you give to the nocturnes?

    • @keegansimyh
      @keegansimyh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pavlenikacevic4976 Do you mean how much I listen to them? Enough to get sick of Op. 48 No. 1 and Op. 27 No. 1 from the competition :) If you mean learning them, then I've only played Op. 9 No. 2 and Op. 62 No. 2.

      Personally I keep on changing my favourites genre from chopin..once it was nocturnes, then it became preludes, then etudes, then the ballades, then the polonaise, then the mazurkas and now im liking his waltzes the best. I think it just depends on your mood

    Is the Oberek ever danced to a plucked string rather than a bowed string? I'm sure you see why I've asked!

      Hmmm, maybe sometimes yes!
