- In this video we follow the iconic South Coast Daylight Express as it makes its way North up the Illawarra line from Bomaderry (Nowra) to Sydney.
Taken from two points of view, the passenger and on looker, we track the journey to Sydney while looking at history of the Iconic train and points of interest as we pass.
There are some great close passes as the diesel locomotive roars past pulling the ex railcar BUD and Tulloch cars.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Thanks a lot. My pleasure.
A nice little video the old camel cars plus a tulloch .
Wouldn't be the South Coast Daylight Express without them 👍😃 thanks for watching.
Great video Barrie
Glad you enjoyed it
Straight back to my childhood. The 48s must have been a school day! The 620 at Scarborough was definitely a weekend, though.
You are correct, the 48s scene was a Wednesday from memory. Thanks for watching.
Quite a variety there, thanks Barrie.
Hi Dave. Thanks a lot. 😃
That brings back fond memories. Thank you Barrie 👍
Not a problem, that's what this channel is about. Thanks for watching
Great stuff, was nice seeing some freight movement at Nowra!
Hi Caleb. I wish I had filmed down there more. Thanks for watching
@@trainspottingwithbarrie some is better than none, I think all the footage you upload is awesome Barrie!
Thanks so much Caleb.
thanks Barrie.
Hi Darryl, no problems. Thanks for watching
Used to catch this train as a kid in the late 80s from Hurstville to Bombaderry as part of a coach-augmented yearly trip to Batemans Bay.
Didn't know Bombaderry was Norway's station! 😂😅
Hi Nick, yeah just across the river. Thanks for sharing your memory.
NOWRA .....
@trainspottingwithbarrie I wish they extended the line further south. You'd get a really nice trip down to BBay, Moruya, Narooma etc.
That would have been a great trip if they had.
I travelled it when it was a Budd set.
What a great experience. I hope this brings back memories. Thanks for watching
Norway?
No, it was a typo sorry. Nowra not Norway.
@@trainspottingwithbarrie Curse you TH-cam autocorrect - still got a 'Like' from me. Now all fixed - now all good!
