South Coast Daylight Express Train - Bomaderry to Sydney

  • In this video we follow the iconic South Coast Daylight Express as it makes its way North up the Illawarra line from Bomaderry (Nowra) to Sydney.
    Taken from two points of view, the passenger and on looker, we track the journey to Sydney while looking at history of the Iconic train and points of interest as we pass.
    There are some great close passes as the diesel locomotive roars past pulling the ex railcar BUD and Tulloch cars.

    Straight back to my childhood. The 48s must have been a school day! The 620 at Scarborough was definitely a weekend, though.

    Used to catch this train as a kid in the late 80s from Hurstville to Bombaderry as part of a coach-augmented yearly trip to Batemans Bay.
    Didn't know Bombaderry was Norway's station! 😂😅
