    Thank you so much for your videos. Could you do a video on coconut soy with wood wicks. I have a hard time with figuring out if I have the right wick after resting. I also use the wick recommendations from wicksy but have experienced sink holes and not getting a even burn. If there’s not a sink while the wax is on the sides of the jar. Not having a even burn. So I’m not sure if I’m using the right size wood wick. Any advice would be great!

    Looking forward to the results. I've been working with A05 and I found issues with sinkholes to be nearly eliminated if poured at lower temps. It's still primarily soy so I needed to treat it like that. I get great smooth glossy tops everytime.
    Not crazy about the post burn appearance. It's not the worse though. But, I've been experimenting with a Coco83 blend as well as a a blend with lower percentage of the MST additive than the M12.

    There are so many great candle suppliers you have in the US. There’s not a huge variety here in little old New Zealand (down the bottom of the world some people say lol). We’ve got maybe half a dozen, online stores n that’s it sadly😞I’d really love b(to try some of the types of waxes/wicks that we can’t get here and some fragrances as well. When I see something that looks great. I have to go without cause none of them even post to Australia, let alone little old NZ 😕

    Hi Jeff, in your opinion what is your favorite wax to work with for candles? I'm just starting out. Also, do you customize labels for the vessels? I would be very interested if you do.

    I've temporarily given up as well. And i have about $1,000 worth of vessels, coco apricot wax, and fragrance oils. I bought my wax and fragrance oils from Virginia Candle Supply and the fragrance is not strong enough and the eco wicks mushroom and produce black smoke. Nothing is working

      @StandleyHandcrafted  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Have you tried different styles of wicks? That’s usually the biggest culprit to low scent throw, not the oils.

      @@StandleyHandcrafted I bit of everything it seems I can’t get one candle to be ok with everything, if I’m saying this right. I have coco soy. Also tried beeswax with a little paraffin to put in my bee kits. I used the wick suggested for the size jar and the flame was tiny and pool wasn’t large enough🤷‍♀️
      Cd be half a dozen things? Wick? Flame too high/ not enough…
      If I sell a candle it has to be perfect or they won’t re purchase.

    Im having issues with A05 coco soy, the wax isn’t hardening and it’s always sweating, what reason could it be ?
    Thank you in advance 🙏

    • @claytonjames4779
      @claytonjames4779 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably Fragrance load. Did you add any Vybar 260? Sweating is usually overload of fragrance. Check fragrance load suggested by both A05 and the fragrance your using. if the wax says 10 but your F.O. says 15 (for example) You will have problems going beyond 12%. Vybar can help, but not too much or it will lock the fragrance and not release it.

      Pepole focus way too much on these marketing terms. The truth is all candle wax can smoke. It's very hard to make a quality candle with essential oils due to their very delicate nature. So we use Fragrance oil that are synthetic and petroleum based, but some people find success in blending the two. Most candles on the market are a blend of Soy/coconut/parafin so create a balanced effect. but if you do all of this with a soy/coconut candle and use essential oils, you have the most natural candle you can make. But most customers just want a good burning and smelling candle and aren't concerned about it being 100% natural

    Which do you prefer the M12 or the AO5?

    • @StandleyHandcrafted
      @StandleyHandcrafted  ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer the M12, the A05 is the same wax in the M12 though without the additive. A05 throws nice but the M12 is definitely stronger.

    I'm always never sure what the real math is supposed to be with fragrance when talking percentages. Your math doesn't take into account the TOTAL, meaning 24 ounces of total product weight with oils. when you add 1.92 ounces to 24, it makes for a total of 25.92. So actually, your fragrance load is 7.4%. for it to be 8% it would be 24 * .08 = 1.92 so you would mix up a total wax of 22.08 so when you add 1.92 oz of F.O., your fragrance is truly 8%. Is that not right?
