It was not a bad show, I thoroughly enjoyed the humor and the characters, but I don’t think it needs a second season. (Anything with more Cutter in it though? Yes please!)
Sully's refusal to mantain scare power in ANY capacity, even to save Monsters Inc, is what makes him better than Waternoose. He will let the company die before letting a single child be scared.
And actually if they can harness laugh power, not only does it ensure Monster Inc survival, it guarantees their long term future as laugh power is 10 times stronger than scare power and has no shelf life like scare power which decrease as children grows up, the issue was of course timing as this is a new territory
@@s4xtt Scare power doesn't have a "shelf life" as evident in Monsters University where they break the Dean's Scare Can from back when she was younger and it still screamed.
@@katiebabyxx6207 That Scare Power "expires" because kids grow up and stop being scared of monsters, according to in-universe explanation (Which is really silly, even adults would scream at the sight of one of Sully's roars); while comedy and Laugh Power are ageless, so to speak.
I have to agree, this is how a finale should be made, tying up loose ends, pulling heart strings, and end the season as a positive note. Now that's an ending. This and episode 7 are my favorite episodes from the season.
"The fear in her eyes when she was scared... I... I didn't like what I saw" "I act scary, Mike. But most of the time... I'm terrified" Both are entirely different evolutions of Sulley's character, but both have so much weight and reasoning behind them.
Monsters University is tragically underrated. That scene hit hard about expectations and behind the scenes with people as we got a more in depth look in sulleys personal life
It wasn't until I watched the finale that I realized the whole season was taking place during the first film. It was actually pretty cool that we got to see what happened in between Waternoose's arrest and the epilogue of the original film
Honestly, I think there might be a potential conflict between Monsters Inc. and Fear Co. Someone mentioned a plot idea of espionage from someone at Fear Co to make laugh power unpopular or something. That could be an interesting idea for Season 2.

He wanted to be a scarer his whole childhood but has no knack for it and work hard and along with Sulley they do make the perfect scare duo but it's still not something u feel is fair after seeing his development in Monst Uni, but when they reverted to laugh power the door opens up for him and he finally gets the spotlight he deserve
I think for season 2 it would be cool if they went deep into the company rivalry between fear co. And monsters inc. and maybe even that johnny Worthington dude from monsters university could run fear co!!!
this could start a war between jokesters and scarers, johnny Worthington is a kind of monster guy who loves scaring and bring fear to kids, Chet the crab boy is in Fear co too. unlike sulley who care the well being of people and peace
I personally love Mike's character development. To me, Mike has always been a deep character. Because of how he looks, he couldn't scare. He was bullied, even into college. Beaten by everyone in terms of scaring, and in MU he discovered that no, you don't need to aim for what you were trying to get, you could always get the second option, because just because you can't use those skills to yourself doesn't mean you can't teach it. You can see him teaching as he's now teaching how to make kids laugh, and he becomes one himself. MOW completed Mike's entire character. He finally became a ''scarer''.
there are many different ways that season 2 could offer such as turning the show into an anthology series. However, the two main storylines I want to see is Sulley and Mike's relationship with Boo after the epilogue (if that's even possible) and Monster Inc's rivalry with Fear Co. I also like an episode featuring some of Mike and Sulley's college friends from Monster University guest starring.
You overlooked a serious threat: don't forget that Randall's still lurking somewhere in the swamps of the human world, looking for a chance to get back into monstropolis and take revenge on Mike and Sulley.

Maybe they'll explore trying to get other companies to switch to laugh power. This could give us a chance to see the Oozma Kappa monsters again (while they did all become Scarers, they all also seem to have potential to be Jokesters). One thing I'd like to see is something similar to what happened in season 7: Sulley and Mike decide to review cases of other banished monsters to see if they should be un-banished (like the Adorable Snowman). Something goes wrong, and Randall finds his way back to the Monster World. I can see that going one of two ways, with Randall either seeking revenge and ultimately getting banished again, or him redeeming himself/beginning a redemption arc and becoming a series regular (or at least making guest appearances).
I don't think they would let Randall returned back, again he is boo's monster and Sully might be against the idea of having Randall returned in any capacity. (well we also see he got brutally go hit and possible dead)

I personally loved this series, I think the reason why Mike and Sully got shorter roles the more the series went on because Pixar wanted to bring people in with Mike and Sully even though Tylor is the main character. Slowly as the series went on Pixar would ease you in to bigger roles for Tylor to show they can make a series driven by a brand new character, rather than the main characters of the original films. I loved the series as a whole. Sure I could have used more Mike and Sully. But each episode had the heart of the original movies. But my kids 9,6, and 3 absolutely loved it! I think as adult watchers we need to remember that they are creating these shows for kids so what we might want is sometimes thrown out to give something for the kids to enjoy. I loved the baseball episode and the abominable snowman episode. I missed John Ratzenberger in the newest Pixar movies so it was great to hear him reprise his role. But the ending was tops! I couldn’t believe how many emotions it hit, especially after such a great ending in both movies. I loved it, and a season 2 would be great…but if not the show had a perfect run in my opinion.
I loved the baseball and snowman episodes too!! So wonderful to hear John Ratzenberger again. I 100% agree some things are gonna be made just for the kids watching! My point was that the show was just weirdly balanced with it's storytelling most of the way, and then dipped Mike and Sulley later on to focus on Tylor. With such an important role, it was weird to not focus on them for so long imo. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! So great to hear other people are enjoying the show!!
3 things I want from oncoming seasons, Oosma Kappa guys become jokesters or just make an appearance, Waternoose breaks out of prison to steal back the company for his family’s legacy, and what I think should be the finale of the entire series, an adaptation of lost in scaradise
Well, the trailer for Season 2 just dropped, and it looks like you're gonna get your wish: we get to see FearCo, explore the Laugh-vs-Scare power dynamic, and explore Tyler's other job prospects.
This video didnt mention the genius tie in to the final scene of the movie. placing the events of the series between BEFORE the ending scene of the movie.
@@gracekim1998 because she was a huge part of the first movie so I thought maybe this show would have a b plot with her trying to figure out how to get back to the monster world to reunite with sully and mike or she just thought it was a dream and hasn't thought much of it and we're just focusing on her life as a teenager
I hope when season 2 comes out it can be even better and expand on the monster inc universe I also like how the series takes place after waternoose goes to jail and after the ending of the movie
Not sure if you will see this but I love your idea of what season 2 could have been. Would have been interesting to see. Maybe even seeing human adults in the monsters world too, dunno. But ultimately I loved where season 2 went.
What I love is that he works in Mift while being annoyed with his start. Mift is also a word we use in the UK to mean slightly annoyed. I dunno if it was on purpose or just a coincidence but knowing Pixar it is most likely on purpose!
Something interesting about Fear Corp is that Randal could be there. Last time we see him he was thrown in a Hilly Billy trailer, so there STILL chance for him to take the opportunity to go to some kids house and get back home, taking the chance another Monster is around. Probably finding by a kid screaming, and since Fear Corp is another big shot of using scares for energy, he will probably end up there. Since he was the second best at Monster Inc, he will probably be offered a chance to work there, and if they also have plans to sabotage the new Monster Inc (which they would have reasons since if Laughter is becoming the new best energy provider) they WILL want to put them out of the game, and Randal will want in to get back at Sully and Mike.
This is a great analysis. This episode was truly great. One thing I also like about the series was how at the end of each episode they played an alternate version of the classic theme and each one was awesome. I also how that we also get an update of Randall too, even if it's a few seconds
5:57 Yeah that is really funny. It reminds me of the classic alter-ego cliche and people trying to expose it. The most prominent one is Sally Rassmousen (is that right?) trying to expose Professor von Volt as a mad scientist she thinks he really is in the body swap episode. Yes, there's a Geronimo Stilton series Also, the next OPAS video should be either Wander over Yonder or Geronimo Stilton or the Loud House or even Code Lyoko
did anyone convert the stilton tv show to english? it looks really good, and I was a huge fan of the books as a kid, but the only versions of it I find are in another language.
The ending to both Monsters Inc. and Season One of Monsters at Work where Mike and Val the closest friends to Sulley and Tylor both give the monsters their happy endings: Sulley reunites with Boo and Tylor finally becomes a comedian, indirectly fulfilling his dream of becoming a scarer after all like with Mike from Monsters’ University but as a comedian.
Every time I hear the intro guitar strum in your videos it sounds like the Panic! At The Disco version of Into The Unknown from the Frozen 2 soundtrack
The finale was a big surprise. Significantly better than the other episodes. Tylors arc wasn't predicable. He considered permanently joining mift and just like how mift grew on him I personally fell in love with the mift characters as well. That scene between Tylor and Sully was great and addressed why laugh power is morally the right thing to do. It was also great to see Sulley get such a scene because he was kinda underutilized compared to Mike up to that point. The plot is finale worthy. Mike and sully had a big part which was important for the final episode. When Tylor left mift and it honestly made me really emotional. And of course the best thing is how it had the twist ending of how it tied into the epilogue of monsters inc. I absolutely loved that!!
They should do something like this for the incredibles. They could have it set in the films time but have it focus on the family's life and have it keep going leading to Violet's graduation
I really wonder where they’re going to with, if they get a second season. Cause even though laugh power has been working, it’s revealed to be a bit faulty. Plus, a bunch of Scarers are forced to be put out of work due to Mike and Sulley’s decision. If the laugh power begins to fail, they have to decide on something to keep power going. Like Monsters Inc could take Jokesters AND Scarers, as the Scarers can act as a “Boogeyman Program” or something similar. This could also make things complicated for Tylor, as he can torn trying to either stay a Jokester(That he painfully tried to get into), became a Scarer(Which he has originally trained to do, or return to MIFT(Which he got used to during his time).
Sooo agree! It was the scene where Sulley explains to Tylor about Boo was what made the series for me. It was indeed perfect. And after watching the series a few times, I’m really excited for a season 2. Would love to see what happens with Sully, Tylor, Mike’s’ storylines.
I think Monsters at Work is wonderful and The Season One Finale was Amazing so I hoping Season Two will be outstanding and Boo being There is going to make this Better!😈🥰❤😁💖⭐👍
Hey Jonathan, I think I should tell you that I believe your channel is really quite amazing. It’s what movie/television reviews should be. Finding the good stuff in nostalgia.

Hey! Haven't you heard recent news? Cartoon Network rejected Maxwell Atom's continuation to “The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy”! I need you to spread the word to every other animation TH-camr to get every other animation lovers to remember the show! As well as introducing a new generation of kids to the series!
What I hope for in season 2 of Monsters At Work, is to answer one question that everyone's been asking since the first movie came out in theaters, what happened to Mr. Waternoose after he was arrested for kidnapping?
I would love to see the Randy Boggs or any of the previous Monsters University Osma Kappa join the laugh floors as at least Randy Boggs and Art were Hilarious!
Wait… if Mike and Sulley’s college friends made it to The Scare Program( and presumably passed) Wouldn’t they be in Monster’s Inc.? If they made it, where are they?
The transition from fear to laugh had a lot of plot potential, how the monster world react to this change, how monster university react to this changes, How other company that still using fear react to this change. There is a ton of implication.
I loved the series. Although I wish we got to actually see boo again. I'm glad that this series exists. Because Monsters University wasn't very good and we needed something funny during this time of depression.
I loved season 1, I especially liked that it embraced both films equally, combined their lore and expanded upon it. Many times when a sequel gets a negative or polarizing reception, future projects in the franchise will outright ignore it (and usually with good reason, like how Cars 3 just pretended Cars 2 didn’t exist). But in this case, I think Monsters U was a good movie and deserved to be embraced despite its mixed reception, and I’m glad the creators of Monsters At Work felt the same way. Overall, the show definitely felt like a love letter to the original films, especially the music and art style of the opening titles and end credits. And the episode where Mike and Sulley’s roles reversed from the original movie, with Mike looking after the kid and Sulley as the tag along, with Mike even singing to her at the end, that was so heartwarming. What would I want to see in season 2? Definitely the O.K gang, I wonder if any of them are at Monsters Inc. And more of the energy wars between Monsters Inc and their rivals. There’s a lot of ways it could go, and I’m excited to see it!
Did you enjoy Monsters at Work? Where do you think they should go in Season 2?
Yes! As a person who also had concerns going into the finale, i do agree that it was perfect.

The trailer looks EXACTLY like how I wanted the show to go. I'm so excited!!!
TIL there's a Monster's Inc. series, and I just re-watched both movies 3 weeks ago so it's perfect timing.
Can we mention that mike yells "I'm on the cover of a magazine!"
Man...I felt emotional when Sulley mentioned the events of the films, more specifically, the moment he scared Boo...
This video didnt mention the genius tie in to the final scene of the movie. placing the events of the series between BEFORE the ending scene of the movie.
I wanted boo but I’m glad it was more of an epilogue than sequel
Me too! I appreciated Tylor being the main character, and I'm glad Boo's story wasn't revisited
@@The2ndDimension I didn’t really want Mike and sully to have a big role either
Yes I thought boo was gonna have the b plot when the show first came out
@@jaycrews3707 um why?😅
Maybe Randall will return in season 2 and try to ruined or take over Monster Inc like in Kingdom Hearts 3.
Randall's return would be SO FUN to explore
🤣 that would be fun
@@The2ndDimension And I can imagine him causing A LOT of trouble by sneaking onto the Laugh Floors and scaring the kids!
He is the hooligan who will start a one-man-war for himself against "monster-nity"
Wow! Great explanation. Having seen the series myself, i would say that your explanation was pretty good! Definitely worth a like.
Thank you!! :)
With this show just being okay for me, I’m shocked at how good the finale was.
Yes, there's a Geronimo Stilton series
Also, the next OPAS video should be either Wander over Yonder or Geronimo Stilton or the Loud House or even Code Lyoko
did anyone convert the stilton tv show to english? it looks really good, and I was a huge fan of the books as a kid, but the only versions of it I find are in another language.
@@hobomike6935 Yes, all of the episodes have been Eng Dub
The ending to both Monsters Inc. and Season One of Monsters at Work where Mike and Val the closest friends to Sulley and Tylor both give the monsters their happy endings: Sulley reunites with Boo and Tylor finally becomes a comedian, indirectly fulfilling his dream of becoming a scarer after all like with Mike from Monsters’ University but as a comedian.
Speaking of season, I’ll be waiting for Milo Murphy’s Law to be renewed for season 3 as well please 😊😊😊
Every time I hear the intro guitar strum in your videos it sounds like the Panic! At The Disco version of Into The Unknown from the Frozen 2 soundtrack
I CAN'T UNHEAR IT
The finale was a big surprise.
I truly enjoyed Monsters at Work and how it developed Tylor's journey. Everyone has a place at something, we just need to find it
I recognize the title screen changing to The Third Dimension.
I was honestly interested a bit in the series at first, but was not expecting to love it as much as I did. Definitely hoping for a season 2!
MONSTERS AT WORK deserves a 2nd season. With new characters, the return of Randall and Mr. Waternoose and an episode with Boo
They should do something like this for the incredibles. They could have it set in the films time but have it focus on the family's life and have it keep going leading to Violet's graduation
Eh! You noticed the scene sync with Monster’s INC’s epilogue😎
I know what I want, maybe 🤔 they will reunited with Boo
I watched all the way to the end of the credits of Season 1 Finally and Fritz said this.
“Sad Sigh. Is there gonna be a Season 2!?”
Just wait til he finds out season 2 is even better
Most of Season 2 is good, the last 2 episodes were garbage.
@@moonquartzs More like YOU are garbage.
Nah its more of a downgrade there wasn't much comedy
I feel this guy is very underrated
Thank you! Just tryin my best to make fun & interesting videos :)
I hope Waternoose or Randall returns in season 2.
Would love to see what happens with Sully, Tylor, Mike’s’ storylines.
yes, a masterpiece like this deserves the chance for a season 2
I think Monsters at Work is wonderful and The Season One Finale was Amazing so I hoping Season Two will be outstanding and Boo being There is going to make this Better!😈🥰❤😁💖⭐👍
I hope they continue with a Season 2 along with Dug Days. Hopefully more seasons with the new Cars one too.
I really enjoyed Monsters at Work
I can’t wait till season 2 I wanna see how Tyler,Mike and sully’s story continue
Yep it's because Mike and Solomon are pressing him for world which is very nice
Hey Jonathan, I think I should tell you that I believe your channel is really quite amazing. It’s what movie/television reviews should be. Finding the good stuff in nostalgia.
Thank you! This is so kind, you made my day 😊
It's a review like this that turns one's thought of watching the series from hesitancy to genuine interest.
Damn it Sulley, even when I'm an adult you're still tugging at my heart strings
I teared up at the end because it was a copy and paste of the Epilogue of the movie and it was perfect for the fact that it wrapped it up while showing that the series took place between the jump in the movie
I would love to see in the second season monsters University characters, they were never addressed in the franchise again.
Im still waiting for the movie even if it not happening
And i miss the OK
And return of the lizard lmao
This finale is literally the perfect explanation of “Tying up lose Ends” literally! It was so perfect!
Episode 7 is my favourite too I had to agree to this is how it's supposed to be helping each other
Happy 20 Year Anniversary to the classic Pixar movie: ‘Monster’s Inc’ (November 2nd 2001 - November 2nd 2021) 😎👌✌️
I hope that will get a season 3 and I think it would be amazing to see at least one of the OK teams they’re like maybe Art or Scary and Tarry
now season 2 came down and is actually also really good I think
Will you be doing a breakdown of season 2?Is already out and there's a mirror image with Sulley scaring boo with Tylor
I would love to see the Randy Boggs or any of the previous Monsters University Osma Kappa join the laugh floors as at least Randy Boggs and Art were Hilarious!
So is the whole laugh vs scare energy like... fossil fuel vs green energy deal?
I love when you post videos every time like about monsters at work
Wait… if Mike and Sulley’s college friends made it to The Scare Program( and presumably passed) Wouldn’t they be in Monster’s Inc.? If they made it, where are they?
In another company?
The transition from fear to laugh had a lot of plot potential, how the monster world react to this change, how monster university react to this changes, How other company that still using fear react to this change. There is a ton of implication.
I loved the series. Although I wish we got to actually see boo again. I'm glad that this series exists. Because Monsters University wasn't very good and we needed something funny during this time of depression.
I didn't even know this was a thing... SHOCKER will check this out
I want a Season 2 with the Return of oozma Kappa or randall maybe
2nd dimension: most importantly being the reason why...
*ad pops up for Karmas World*
I love the monster world the background is great
The backgrounds are so good! There's so much detail!!
@@The2ndDimension Yes and i love the music even in german the characters are speaking great
I wish we could of had an up 2 or more of an UP series. RIP Ed
I haven't seen this yet, but I really really want a film on Boo aka Mary. So we can know more about her, who her parents are, her adventures.
Also I would love to see the return of Boo and maybe some of the characters from Oozma Kappa.
I would love to hear your input about season 2!
Fear Co = Return of Fraternity monster's from Monster's University?
*Let it begin*
Monsters university:”season 1”
Monsters inc:”season 2”
Monsters at work:”season 3”
