- This is the 1982 Ripoffs episode of You Can't Do That On Television as it was originally presented on Nickelodeon in 1982-1983. In late 1983, Nick became ad-supported, so several minutes of each episode in rotation at the time had to be cut by 3 minutes. Most of the locker jokes segments were cut, in addition to the commercial parodies in the middle of each program. Surprisingly, two slime scenes were removed as well. One came from 1981's Transportation, and the other from this episode. This video is copied from the original studio master. Enjoy!

No, I don't. A few episodes were copied to tape from the masters and then I have the 2nd generation copy. I'm sure I'm part of a long list of people who'd love to have the master tapes!
17:19- the best classroom skit was when the teacher intercepted a not and read it aloud. The note said the teacher had his fly down!
Bring this back Nick! New Generation or at least a reunion of the cast!

Time consuming, but it would be very cool when finished... I might be able to just upload the audio pieces of the cut portion as well. I hope the audio quality isn't too bad. It was recorded by putting one of those old portable tape recorders in front of the TV speaker! :-)
I've seen what I assume is the Canadian CTV edit of Lisa's slime scene and it's a tad longer, with Christine looking upward and fake-gasping "Well, will you look at that!" right after Lisa gets slimed.
Two times someone said "I don't know" and no slime came. However, they were spoken during the Opposite Sketches and thus the opposite happened.

I wish the show has its series on DVD. I heard rumors it is available, or will be.

Unfortunately, I don't. I do, however, have it on an audio cassette. If I get some free time, what I'd like to do is include the audio portions with the existing 25 minute video. That is just more time consuming so I'm not sure when I'll be able to get around to doing it.
Biggest ripoff I've ever faced are those candy dispensing machines all the mall that promise big portions for 50 cents.
