- Here is the 1981 Safety episode of You Can't Do That On Television as it was originally broadcast. This was labeled the "US Pay TV" version because the 1981 episodes were originally recorded at CJOH in the hourlong live format used in 1979. When the show was syndicated, this 28-minute version was used. For Nickelodeon viewers, the episode was cut again to 25 minutes in late 1983 to make room for ads. Two notable removals are Les Lye's (as Barth) uses of the word "damn."

This is show is hilarious
Could never find this for years
Couldn’t even remember the name
Just remembered slime water and Barth say “duuuuuuh I heard that”
Classic
So nostalgic
This is so awesome. My favorite show ever. Thanks so much for posting!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I assure you that there will be more in the future (although I will tell people ahead of time that I do *not* have all of them). I've been on the internet long enough to know there are people out there whose typed words would never be spoken because they can hide behind their computers. Some probably don't even realize how rude their words are. I will just choose to ignore (and possibly delete) certain comments that aren't relevant to the discussion.
this show still kicks ass. i don't even care it's on tv. there are so many full episodes by the looks of it, that it don't matter now. thanks for the upload!
greatest kids show ever.
I remember running home after school to catch this show . was the best ever, me and my 3 brothers would fight to get to the tv. this show was the best ever, my kids think its lame , but back in the 80's it was our snow, later came saved by the bell.
I am so happy to see this one up here! This one, along with the 1982 Ripoffs and 1981 'Work, Work, Work' were special gifts from Jim Clarke when two fellow Slime Society members toured the studio in 2001. As part of the tour, we had the opportunity to visit the vaults, and he surprised us with allowing us to choose an episode each from the master tapes. I specifically chose this one for the missing scenes described by thelockermonster (who couldn't make it on that trip).
This and doubledare were my shows.thanx uploader
Episode has been released on iTunes - in one of 3 volumes of YCDTOTV. Edit though, of course. ;(
Other notable classic Nickelodeon related recent-ish releases to notice: 3 volumes of Family Double Dare and a "retro essentials" pack - containing 1990 episodes as well as all but a couple of episodes of the 1988 Fox Family Double Dare run, and 2 volumes of Super Sloppy Double Dare - not the 1989 series, though, but the 1987 run. :D
If you fall and break your leg, don't come running to me. 😂
Please don't blow this for the rest of us by annoying thelockermonster so much that he doesn't put up any more episodes. Serious YCDTOTV fans have been waiting a long time to see such high-quality videos. They take time to prepare, and the people who post them have lives outside TH-cam. I hope thelockermonster realizes that you do not speak for the many, including myself, who have been made indescribably happy by his first three offerings and are willing to wait as long as need be for the rest.
I only saw this episode once when I was a kid but I certainly remember that smoke alarm scene. That's the way the smoke alarm sounded at my parents' house back in the day. Also remember the ax joke.
Study The Centerfold Right Now! Like that will ever get passed censors today
