“It started out fairly innocently-with Bill simply hiding the bike on the set one day, then returning it with a chuckle when I fumed and demanded it so I could pedal to the commissary for lunch. But from there it escalated, as obsessions do: Next thing I knew, Bill enlisted the help of the cameraman to hoist it up on the ropes, so that it hung overhead from our soundstage ceiling. One might think this was going a little too far; ah, but Bill was just getting warmed up. On different days, my poor bike wound up chained to a fire hydrant, then in Bill’s trailer, beneath the watchful eye of one of his most fiercest Dobermans. In frustration, I took the ultimate step: I locked the damned bike in my Buick, and parked the car next to the soundstage. Bill, of course, had the Buick towed.” -I Am Spock by Leonard Nimoy, page 49
I remember going to a Star Trek Conventioon with William Shatner and he told this story and it was really nice but better when they do it together. RIP Borther
I saw this in person - part of Creation Convention in Sacramento 12/6/91. Went after seeing the premiere of Star Trek VI. If I recall correctly, the movie was supposed to premiere on 12/13/91, but for some reason, was moved up to 12/6/91. Shatner and Nimoy had been booked for this appearance and to their credit, honored their commitment - I was sure that they were supposed to be in Hollywood instead.
I've known about this because of this one video with Leonard Nimoy as a stick figure. I'm so glad TH-cam decided to forward this to me, they always make me laugh!
Those two are so awesome together. One day they will meet again and they'll be able to put the past away because in the next life, none of that nonsense matters. IMHO
Thank you for sharing! I’vewatched it several times. They are so funny together sharing that story. I’m laughing each time. Can someone tell me when and where this was taped?
Shatner is a bit like Kirk, plays to win, breaks the rules. Finally when Nimoy locked his bike in his car, Shatner couldn't get in so towed the whole car away!
He should have just bought a tube of BB's and everyday sneak off and put one in each of the tube caps so they depress the nozzle and slowly deflate the tires.
@@Bitterman5868 I heard about that, but I don’t understand why LN get so mad at Shatner that they stopped talking after that. It’s just a documentary right?
@@anna_ros_47 I believe it was because he already told him no but Shatner insisted and ended up doing it without his consent. I get it, friends should respect one another's decision and it's completely Nimoy's choice to either accept his apology or not.
These 2 are a like a well-oiled machine! I had no idea Leonard was so funny! I loved this. The thing is, though, Leonard was the only person who seemed to like Bill! ... the ONLY ONE! I've watched several interviews of other cast-mates and he was an arrogant pain in the arse! I love Leonard!
I love that Leonard is telling a story about how mean Bill is and meanwhile gets up to get water for him
Like an old married couple 😂
Those guys. They're a good comedy duo.
These two are damn hilarious and so adorable😂🤣

William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy would have made a great comedy duo in show business!
I remember reading this in Leonard’s book I Am Spock and laughed so hard. 🤣
Now I want to buy that book JUST because of the famous bike story. XD
“His dogs are meaner than he is. That’s not easy.”
🤣
I remember reading about this in Star Trek Memories by William Shatner. Nearly died laughing.
Ya same I was laughing so hard i was crying
David Alan Gay Nimoy talks about it in I am Spock
Someone should write an ST children's book about that now famous story. X)
"Logical Nimoy and his kleptomaniac pal."
Nimoy, "I want some sympathy."
*AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW*
It's okay. That just means he just likes you, Leonard.
Leonard talks about this in his book....I am Spock also... And there is an audio book on TH-cam. With him narrating it. ;)

Nimoy and Shatner are like the ultimate comedy double act!
Then add Deforest Kelley...lol
Remember the academy awards when they came out together to present one of the awards after star trek 4 had come out.
Fascinating
How old were they when they did this they make such good co comedians
Incredible chemistry on screen and off 😃
They would have made a perfect comedy duo. Nimoy as the straight man and Shatner as the comedian.
They are fantastic. William shatner is a good Guy Who like jokes. Nimoy and shatner 💖
This clip is FASCINATING!
Of course its only logical you know

We are all robbed of a Shatner/Nimoy touring show where they talk about their careers.

Poor Leonard Nimoy.

Nimoy had a wonderful personality. Always enjoyed his interviews.
hilarious double act!
Did laugh. Even though, that was sooooo mean. Awwww. But.... was funny!
It's like watching an episode of Spy vs Spy
"Guess who had my car towed away..."
That was just perfect!😂😂😂
What does Bill say at 0:34? ‘Did I’?
Crazy it's 7 years ago now that he died, he was like a father to me.
This is hilarious.😂😂
you shoulda just got a bike yourself

This was in Sacramento as part of Creation Convention 12/6/91. I remember it well!
Shatner is a bit like Kirk, plays to win, breaks the rules. Finally when Nimoy locked his bike in his car, Shatner couldn't get in so towed the whole car away!
I think Nimoy-Spock bought a bike because at noon they feel sleepy, and they'd work from 9 to 9.
I had this show on vhs, it's great!
Thought they were just pulling pranks on each other.
They were
That's a funny storie‼️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Leonard and Sheldon esk.
I'm dying 🤣🤣🤣
This would be kinda funny even if you didn't know what a bike was
It’s not funny to laugh during that time but it’s wild
Sad they fell out in later years
They reconciled before Leonard passed away.
Fare Well and Prosper Leonard 🖖🏼
Amazing they created an act of their own and was a hit. Sulu must be seething

No wonder Leonard got mad at Wm . who was always hogging the attention. Still funny. Love pranks.
He got mad because of the captains documentary
Lol

Captain’s documentary?
Gosh I love them
Where was this event taking place?
Maybe Comedy Central in the 80s or 90s...???
Or maybe a mini convention skit
This actually happened at Sacramento California during the weekend of the release of Star Trek 6: the Undiscovered Country
@@dexoearth9167 Exactly! 12/6/91, if I remember correctly. Part of Creation Convention.
I don’t really like Star Trek, like at all. But Leonard Nimoy is one of my favourite people, reminds me a lot of my grandfather
This is pure gold.
This is peak cinema
😂😂😂
I’ve never seen Spock so illogical
