This makes me miss Leonard Nimoy big time. He didn't let the fame of Spock get to his head at all. I loved how humble he was and how brilliant he was. He played that character with everything in him and I respect him for that. RIP Leonard. And..sad that he and Shatner had a falling out before his death. Thanks for posting this funny convention. These two are hoots together. And I love this. I didn’t like the Takei and Shatner feud either. I want to kind of know what went on with that. Update: did manage to meet Shatner at STLV. I didn’t get a photo with him or anything, however I did manage to see his panel: he spent 1 hour and 45 minutes talking about himself!😂 The one cool thing he did talk about: his first space adventure! 😁👍🏻🖖🏻
I just found this treasure. It absorbed me so completely that I forgot Leonard Nimoy had left us. It seemed like such a now conversation that I scrolled down to see if it was super recent because it reminded me of something that happened at GalaxyCon in Minneapolis in November 2019. George Takei's table autograph table/booth was located next to William Shatner's and when they announced Bill was done with photos and would be heading to his table in 20 minutes, Takei and his entire entourage hopped on one of those courtesy shuttles and zoomed away in a bit of a huff, made more dramatic by the cape George was wearing! :)
Two deaths in Hollywood hit me incredibly hard: Robin Williams, and Leonard Nimoy. This interview reminded me of that. His memory is indeed a blessing.
It is a shame that Nimoy was mad at Shatner. Watching a video on it one day, Bill seemed genuinely mystified as to the why. Watching them here, it seems Shatner has a real love and respect for Leonard. I love them both.
I can't believe that this was 4 years before Leonard passed away. According to Shatner, they weren't in contact for the last 5 years of Nimoy's life. Their chemistry is really great and you can tell, despite butting heads, that they really loved each other and cared for each other :(
WHY WASN'T WILLIAM SHATNER IN ANY OF THE NEW MOVIES!!!! OR SHOWS. No matter how much they try to erase the affect of William Shatner's Kirk, and the Legend that character has become, and the affect William Shatner has on the old Star Trek and all the original cast movies, they can't. That's why I don't watch them sh!ts. Never giving the die hard 50yr fans what we want. Depriving us of last Star Trek shots of Kirk and Spock before the death of Leonard Nimoy....those bastiches!!!! WTF is the Kelvin timeline anyway? Maybe it means all them movies suck. Throwing in Dr. McCoy and Scotty in Generations but never Kirk. Oh no bring back Kirk in that shit generations movie to kick butt and die because Picard was a punk butt and couldn't beat the guy, wtf was that? Picard is a pu$$y that looks like a rat. What a punk butt Captain. I'm not watching his new show. He drinks so much earl grey, he looks earl grey. Can't stand the sight of him. That actor P.S. plays better as a bad guy. I hated him as Prof. X too. Thought Ed Harris would have done a better job. Generations sucked butt too. But Voyager was pretty good. Discovery could be better if they stop making the main character look stupid. Why does she have to seem somewhat dumb....could it be because she is _____? But I like some Anson Mount, so Im gonna watch that new one. Bring back Captain Kirk for at least one final time sheesh. And make it respectful dang.
It’s OK man it’s all the pages in the book flip you just Gotta keep reading because I never thought fucking William Shatner would go to space in that shit happened so hold out my friend
If anyone has been keeping the Shatner-Takei feud going all these years, it has to George Tacky, who has nothing nice to say about Shatner in any of his interviews.
There like a modern day Abbet and Costello in there probably only two people that know I’m talking about. If you’re young next 40 years will flash by you. But you’re still enjoy what you did when you were young.
But it's true tho; Spock does remind me of my grandfather mostly because of his big beaming smile and loving personality. On another note, Shatner looks like my grandmother. It's the Jew gene, I'm telling ya😄
I'm surprised at how passive aggressive Nimoy is here with Shatner. Nimoy barely lets him speak and keeps making digs against Shatner. It might have gone over at the con, but it doesn't age well. Shatner comes off better than Nimoy, and I wouldn't have suspected that.
It's sad that Nimoy died HATING Shatner. They didn't speak for the 5 years before his death. And both admitted that their relationship was over in Interviews. It stemmed from Nimoy refusing to do Shatner's documentary and Shatner secretly recording Nimoy's convention appearances and putting it in the documentary without his permission. So George, James, Nichelle and Leonard ended up hating him.
You say that they didn't speak for the last 5 years of Nimoy's life. But the clip we are watching was filmed 4 years before Nimoy died... so... I'm calling bullshit on this.
@@alastaircrosby9682 I just watched Shatner in an interview with Meredith Vieira here on YT, and he himself says it was 2 years. And that he wrote a note to Leonard asking why, but never got a reply. So, were the reasons what Guitarboy wrote above?
@@alastaircrosby9682 thanks . because james doohan died. george knows what type of character bill is.. nichelle is not well . vanity has never gotten any 1 anywhere in life not worth it LIG
Shatner said that in the years prior to his death, Nimoy refused to return his phone calls and no one could tell him why. He said he didn't feel he would be welcome at the funeral and sent his daughters instead. He said he was heartbroken at being cut off by a dear friend of many years. What Shatner doesn't want to talk about is what he did that got Nimoy so angry at him. When Shatner produced a documentary called "The Captains Close Up" in which he interviewed the actors who played captains in Star Trek, he begged Nimoy to participate and Nimoy refused. Shatner then had him secretly filmed at a convention, sure that he could get round Nimoy and get him to allow the footage to be used. But Nimoy had always had a thing about being filmed without his consent. He had gone to court over it and over the unauthorised use of his image. He had objected strongly and publicly to the circulation of the famous "Star Trek Blooper Reel" which everyone else laughed off. Shatner should have known better. After he found out what Shatner had done, Nimoy never spoke to him again. It may have been also that Nimoy's debilitating final illness made him run out of patience with life-of-the-party extrovert Shatner. When Nimoy's son Adam produced a memorial film about his father, he asked Shatner to participate and praised him for the wonderful help he had given him. Here is a clip of the two of them together. This is the way we should remember them. th-cam.com/video/p_cLIZl6IuY/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for putting this up, having never got to see them in person, it's nice that I can see this! RIP Mr. Spock. :(
Man time flies thanks for reminding me.
But hey was in that space poke pretty cool... Live long and prosper

This is the most wholesome comment ever. I also completely agree with you.
Twilight Trekkie awe thanks for your kind reply!
These two have great chemistry and are really entertaining together. Reminds me of the chemistry between Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis.
Thanks so much for posting this. :) 5:12 Leonard reaches for the toupee, Bill reaches for the false teeth. Lmao XD
Miss you Leonard.
Real friends. Leonard reaches out and simply says don’t do that without even looking, knowing Shatner was messing around with the can, lol.
2 iconic actors and huming beings and one wonderful allien 🖖
I love these guys. It’s almost over now, but Original Star Trek and its actors have had a legendary run.

J j Abrams made a very expensive fanfiction and sold it out as a movie omo

Takei is a drama queen
They are great in this. Would have been too awesome if they were always with the old guys banter
Bill didn't miss anything, by not seeing the new Star Trek movie. I was not impressed. the only good scenes, were with Leonard. RIP in peace Leonard.
thanks for sharing
These guys could have been a comedy duo.
Who was.the camera person that let everyone walk in front .
I watched Star Trek The Numberless Movie.
Two Aries men ☺️ love this!!
Listening to these guys rag on each other is great

the Abrams movie as the plot involved the destruction of Vulcan involves Spock not Kirk
Leonard is still alive. Through us.

I will never accept that Kirk is dead ... or, Spock for that matter
Does anyone know what Shatner gets to appear at one of these ?
God they’re so old , that was 10 years ago ? that means ....oh God I’m so old
Waldorf and Statdler in real life
Too funny.
Ojala en español no me entero de nada soi fan de ellos d ser ke empezaron
There was no cartoon series prior to the Star Trek network prime time show. Don't know what he was talking about.
Now we know what killed Leonard. And no one take that seriously, please.
My Trek Best. Out. \V/
I kill to have seen Leonard
I'll help you with that 😂

why do they talk about the third person, george? this is not very polite.
What was said at 6:14?
Nimoy asked him whether he had seen any good movies lately, probably with the intention in mind to tease Shatner, 'cause he was not in the new movie.
Why didn't someone shout out 'George Toupee', it's always the elephant in the room.
It's sad that Nimoy died HATING Shatner. They didn't speak for the 5 years before his death. And both admitted that their relationship was over in Interviews. Reminiscent of Spock vs Q
and Shatner is such a troll
overlaughing overclapping sycophantic audience
Of course. The audience loves them. Loves.
Oh gee whiz Eric! Get a life!
