- The beginning of the video I'm at Chesterton Indiana. May 13th 1988 I am south of Hile Rd in Muskegon Mi. Then on June 11th I'm in South Bend In. I'm back in my home town of Muskegon Mi.July 11th and Aug 16th 1988
Your videos are fabulous to watch even with shoulder mount vhs, I wanted to also say that Thank You for making history for all us that missed all of this railroading!

I was born in 2004, i think that was after Conrail got split but i used to see conrail all the time where i grew up because NS had several locomotives that were still in the blue working the line here, now its RJ Corman running the line and NS runs the occasional intermodal train through but thats it. I love the Conrail blue and I'm glad to see footage of this still around.

Was the Grand Trunk at South Bend with Conrail running east?

20:35 In the grand scheme of things, not all that close, but stupid nonetheless. With the speed the train was going, seeing that Fox Body dart across was a bit nerve wracking.
