I’ve had a number of kitties that bring me bugs & mice. My dog brought me two birds. Oops! Almost forgot-dog also brought me a dead squirrel. I asked him to take it back outside, and thankfully, he did. Apparently, he buried it, because he dug it up 10 days later, and brought the post-burial squirrel back in the house! Yikes! It immediately went in the outside trash bin. To make up for his loss, he got chicken for dinner.
I don’t know if it’s totally to show love, I figured they were bringing me “food” because they figure I can’t take care of myself. 😄
My boys show me all seven signs. I’m very blessed!

One of my cats was found in a ditch. He’d been hit by a car and was bleeding from his nose and had a pretty good gash on it. He was just a kitten. All black cat. He was brought into my work by a Good Samaritan when I worked as a Vet Assistant and I fell in love with him. The doctor said he wasn’t going to make it due to internal trauma. I paid for all his vet bills and took him home to “foster”… 4 years later and he’s currently cuddled up on my lap purring. He is my boy!!! My other kitty was found in a car engine and the lady brought him to my NEW work and I said I’d take him cause no one else could and she was going to let him go in the parking lot. He was shivering because it was winter and he was just trying to stay warm. They display a lot of these behaviors with me and I know they know I saved them. I was always more of a dog person, but these 2 have stolen my heart. ❤️🐈‍⬛🐈

The saying about cats choosing you is definitely true.
Never will forget the day when on our neighborhood walk and encountering a little tortie kitten who not only followed us all the way home, but boldly right behind us into the house. I put her back outside with a bowl of food but when I opened the door to see what she was up to, she walked right back in again then proceeded to jump up on the couch and rolled on her back as if to say "I'm here to stay. Now give me attention." I didn't have the heart to put her back out again, now three years later that little lovebug is still showing her strong willed affection having manipulated herself into the family.

My Cat is 19 years old, I've had her since I was a child. She still does all of these things, apart from bringing me presents because we haven't allowed her out for years now(too many foxes about). I remember when I was a kid we would often get woken up by a flapping, squawking maimed bird under the bed that she was "playing" with, looking up at us so proud as if to say "look what I've brought for you human". Today we took her to the vet, she's VERY old and immobile and showing all of the signs of an aged cat in their last chapter. They kept her in to drain fluid from her lungs and I'm hoping she makes it home if only for another day. I'm going to miss her waiting by the door when I come home from work, and hobbling over to me when I come down the stairs(she can't climb them anymore). Laying down with her on the floor and massaging her ears for hours while she purrs like a tractor. It hurts to see her in such a state, seeing her nervous about whats happening to her. I'm praying for just another minute with her. Also praying for myself because it's going to destroy me when she lets go. I hope she knows how much I love her.

I don't own a cat but my neighbor has one. His cat always came at our doorstep for some reason. I thought it was because he was hungry, but he refused any food I tried to give him. Until I realized that he just really loved me. Everytime he would come, he would immediately start rubbing his head and tail over my legs. He often showed me his belly too. I realized, this cat wasn't hungry or thirsty, he just needed the love he couldn't get from my neighbor... Now, it's been over a decade since he started stoping at our doorstep every week, and sometimes, everyday. It breaks my heart to think someone could just let their cat outside without loving him and just feed him...

My favorite thing that one of my cats did was sitting in my upstairs bedroom window looking out many nights as I returned home from work. Once I pulled into the driveway and got out of the car and approached the front door, I'd look up and call his name and he would meow back at me, then all of a sudden he would jump down and bolt downstairs and would meet me at the door as I entered. It's as if he was waiting for me. I think he was as happy to see me as I was to see him. He was such a great cat and passed way last summer one week shy of the six year anniversary date of when he was adopted. He was always seemed extremely grateful that he was rescued.

We have a Bombay cat now. He’s been visiting us for months since we moved into our rented home, found out from a neighbour he was kicked out 4 years ago and since odd people feed him now and again. He’s now stayed with us every single night for around 5 week?
Next stage is the vets for a check up. I just have to hide him as I don’t think our landlord allows pets. He’s very well behaved, he’s not spraying anywhere, he’s been done. He’s very loving! So happy I can give him a happy home. He follows me everywhere. I suffer with a chronic condition with my bladder, when I flare up he lays on me or watches me in the bath! He’s a star ⭐️ he must love me, he’s so relaxed with me and he’s always ‘bunting’ me ❤️ x

You should make a video for cats called 7 signs your human loves you. I think they find our displays of affection it just as bewildering as we find theirs.
    1) high-pitched noises
    2) temporary linguistic regression. “Who’s a snuggle-wuggle?” etc
    3) humiliating nicknames
    4) photographs
    5) dress-ups
    6) gifts involving balls or squeaking things
    7) PDAs with lips, etc

    • @MH-be6hr
      @MH-be6hr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

They don't find it bewildering. They love it!
Cats, especially kittens, enjoy and benefit from loving personal attention. Like the State of California public service announcement about what to do to help your infant and young tot develop mentally and emotionally says: "Talk, read, sing. It changes everything!"
Cats and dogs learn and develop when you talk with and to them instead of at them. As with a human baby or tot, try to figure out what the kitty is saying when it vocalizes (makes sounds in response to what you say) and then respond back with what you would say to a baby/tot. You can explain simple things to them, talk about feelings like love, what it means to be good, etc
They will learn and will appreciate you for your love, attention, and good parenting.🐈💕💞😉

Pooh was the light of our life (my husband and me). I used to crack his tail, and he loved it. I always wanted a tail and I meditated on how it would feel. I figured that any animal with a tail would have to live with compressed vertebrae because of gravity and their inability to stretch their tail. Cats love to stretch, so I figured out how to alleviate Pooh’s problem. He would stand in front of me, I would place my left hand on his back in front of the base of his tail, he would raise his tail straight up, I’d get ahold of the tip with my thumb and first two fingers, and then I’d pull his tail up, gently, until I heard the vertebrae crack. It got so that I could catch his eye from across a room and say “Gimme that tail,” and he would saunter over to where I was sitting and assume the position in front of me, with his tail straight up and waiting. Yeah, he loved it.
Another thing about Pooh: When it was time for him to die, he didn’t hide somewhere. He found a comfy spot on the carpet in the living room between me and my husband. We talked to him, made sure he was comfy, and that’s where he died. His little head left a profile impression in the carpet; I didn’t vacuum that spot for months. I’d lay down next to it and try to smell him. That was 20 years ago. My husband died three months later; their ashes share an urn.

    • @AllAboutCatsYT
      @AllAboutCatsYT  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hollis, this was an extremely interesting and compelling comment. Fascinating that you've visualized having a tail so much and were seemingly able to empathize with your cat enough to "crack his back" in that way. Though I wouldn't recommend that someone else does this if they aren't sure their cat will be okay with it, I also sometimes lift my cats up by the tails a little bit while petting them (lifting from the base), and they seem to like it. The trick is knowing your cat. Thanks, also, for sharing the story of Pooh's death and the fact that your husband died so shortly thereafter. I can't imagine how that felt. Hope you're doing well now.

When our last cat was poorly I said to Paul our vet "I’m sure he knows we’re doing our best for him." To which Paul replied "I’ve no doubt and he loves you for it." I was a little taken aback that a vet thought cats have emotions, being a person of science and all that. However, Paul is an animal lover first and business man second. You’re the second vet I’ve now heard discussing cats loving their owners.
I had four radiofrequency treatments in my T1 T2 T3 T4 facets yesterday and I’m in a bit of pain (agony) today, Baxter and Brodie haven’t left my side.

Cats do exhibit emotions but it isn't the full range of what an adult human experiences, their level of understanding emotionally is approximately equivalent to a toddler, so whilst they usually won't experience more complex emotions such as pride, contempt, guilt and shame they can experience love, fear, anger and disgust as an example.

Cats (and other pets) know when you're sick or hurting. A friend of mine had a cat who knew she had breast cancer long before she knew. He started lying on that side of her & rubbing against her rhere, where he had never done that before. She pays extra attention now because if her cancer comes back, he will let her know.

We had a cat who was in absolute heaven when getting his belly rubbed. His eyes would light up and shine just like a person looking at their beloved when that belly was getting petted. Sometimes during a long belly rub, he would stretch and I would lightly grab his rib cage. Then he would fall asleep while still being belly rubbed/petted. He loved it so much that when he was let out of the basement to start the day, he would follow family members around and flop on his back and lift his front legs, and exposing his belly, as if to say "There it is, get to it." He would not start a day without getting his belly petted. I still miss that little guy all these years later. We had a lot of good pets, but Greycat aka Mr. Grey was the best.

When I was young we had a delightful calico called Sheba. She would come and stay next to me in bed, whether I wanted her or not! Extremely affectionate and vocal; loved to lie on her back in your lap too. Strangest thing is, after she passed away, I kept feeling the bed move as if she had jumped up. When I looked, there was no cat there. I think Sheba liked me so much she still came to visit me from the afterlife!

My hubby rescued our last cat from a drugs den when she was still a kitten. He was walking past the house & one of the junkies came to the front door with the kitten and booted her off the step! Hubby walked up the path, picked her up and calmly walked away with her. Brought her home, called the RSPCA & police about the junkies. We had her for 22 years. She did all of these things, she loved baths, cuddling under the quilt when it was cold and walking to the corner shop with me. When she died, we got a rescue kitten who is now 5yrs old, totally different, very timid and has to be with either me or hubby all the time even in the bathroom 😂❤. Thank you for sharing this video, sorry for the long post.

I adopted my anxious senior cat three months ago, and it's clear she's been unthreatened around me since a few weeks in (shows her belly, etc.) but we are still slowly bonding and she has only recently started to ask for affection and be okay with being touched anywhere besides her head. I used to describe us as "roommates who have nothing to do with each other" 😂 Still seeing whether we've graduated to friends.

He would be very upset if I left the room without kissing him. He showed his affection in a human way... when he walked into the room and saw me sitting in the recliner, he would run over, jump up, standing in my lap, throw his arms around my neck, and give me a full face kiss right on the mouth. Then he jumped down and sauntered away like nothing had happened.

We just moved into our new home a few months ago and took in a neighborhood stray, neighbors said she has been around ruling these streets since she was a kitten and had 4 litters of kittens herself (she's about 4 yrs old). She's now an indoor cat, she won't go near the door when it's open she has no desire to go back outside. She's fixed now & she had food & skin allergies we're taking care of with a special diet. She follows my daughter around constantly and demands love from her first thing every morning when she wakes up, she's gotta get her "lap time," purring and making biscuits and rubbing on my daughter. And every night when I go on my chair and use my computer she lays on me and naps. When I pet her she presses her head into her hand and her tail curls around my arm and swishes lazily. She spends half her days laying on one of us, lol. She's so happy and relaxed, so sweet and gentle, I guess this means she loves us.

Aww, watching this makes me wanna cry in happiness 😭 except for no.1, my Chocoboi does all these especially showing his belly and sleeping on my chair pillow. He seems to love it when I give him kisses on his belly and cheeks, he’d fall asleep soon after. We also have 5 stray cats that eat at our house daily, 3 of them are kittens. One of the kittens, a calico, used to be afraid of human contact, but they’ve been hanging out in our yard for months now. idk what happen but the calico suddenly would follow me around, very talkative, sometimes she’d sit by my side politely and quietly hanging her head as if she was waiting for me to pet her head. Ofc I’d pet her, then she’d always give me this relaxed expression and squinting her eyes asking for more. Her siblings love attention too, they’re all so polite except the cheeky boy, he’d jump on my back whenever I hunch to give them food. I’m just ugh, my heart can’t take it, cats are too cute😭💜

He was in really bad shape after having spent several years (the vet thinks) living rough outside during Swedish winters and he is doing so well now. He’s gained over half a kilo since coming to us despite having chronic kidney failure (I think it’s called in English) and he does almost all of these 7 things now! He will even plop down in front of our feet and let us rub his belly! So so happy to hear he does all these things because he’s happy here with us after the horrible life he endured after being abandoned before. We feel so very lucky to have him and he is the best thing that ever happened to our three autistic children who love him so very much.

My beautiful cat called Marbles does all these beautiful things too. Except when she shows her belly she loves tummy rubs that’s when she gives the biggest purrs I started doing this after she was desexed or neutered. She had a lovely shaved tummy and it felt like velvet and I couldn’t help but gently stroke it all the time she liked it then and loves it still to this day and she’s seven years old now. She also has her own bed in my bed next to my pillow with her teddy bear 🧸 that she’s had since I adopted her that she licks and suckles on to go to sleep with her own blanket that she gets under in winter. She cry’s until I put my hand into her bed and gives me her hands/ paws to hold while she suckles away making biscuits in my hand. We’re both in love with each other. Such a beautiful little girl. For some reason none of my cats have ever gotten very big they look like older kittens no clue why as they’ve always been rescues from different places and times. Cheers cherieK 🦋🌈🐿🇦🇺

My cats do all this except the gifts, because they’re indoor-only. They’re both very affectionate and purr up a storm when kneading on my lap or lying on top of me at night (that was one thing missing from the list - if they can, they’ll sleep with you).

My kitty is only one year old and needs some training how to behave - she usually uses my hand as a plaything during her playtime - but she always rubs herself to me, brings me bottle lids - her fave playthings - her tail swishes back and forth lightly during caressing time and sleeps with her belly up from time to time. She is not the most person friendly cat - like she never stays in my lap - but in least once a day she sleeps beside or on me. I am so happy that her tail moving during caressing time does not mean she hates me. Thank you for the video.

I buy everything except # 1 - but with the caveat that every shelter that I have ever adopted from has made me promise that the adopted cat would NEVER be allowed to go outside. Therefore, my cats have had no opportunity to find me any "gifts." However, indoor cats don't get hit by cars, attacked by coyotes, or suffer from worms, fleas, ticks, lice, or ear mites, and on average live much longer than cats that are allowed to roam outdoors. And since my current cat was found starving to death on the street while trying to nurse a pair of kittens, she doesn't miss the outside world AT ALL - she has NEVER even tried to explore the outside world, even if we leave the door open while bringing groceries into the house. YMMV!

Well one of my boys was laying on my lap, making biscuits until he heard you say you are a Vet. Then he promptly told me NOPE and left. :-) My boys also talk to me all day long but as soon as my husband get home I no longer exists in this house. I mean who can blame them? I love him too!

I have two indoor cats and one of them is really into the gift bringing, but that does take place with stuff from the home. I felt sick a while back and one of my cats started bringing all kinds of stuff. She started with her own toys, then artificial flowers she found in the attic, then she brought me one of my socks from the bin, a shiny Christmas ornament from upstairs. In the end I had almost 20 different things lying next to me and I laughed so hard at every thing that it really make me feel better. She's also always bringing me her toy mouses. When I wake up I have at least one next or sometimes even on top of me. When I throw it away, she will fetch it and bring it back and almost begging me to throw it away again. We can play that game for hours sometimes haha. So yeah she ticks all 7. She let me do everything to her before the got sterilized. Unfortunately after she had the surgery she is afraid of being lift off and especially if I am trying to turn her on her back in my arm. TIll the day she got helped that was her favourite and she could be in my arm for hours. Turns out that is the way they gave the sedation. Why??? Leave the cat on the table when you do that. Don't do that holding them in the same way as their owners like to hold them. They ruined that for me. And the cat does it on instinct now. As soon as she is off me, she looks at me begging for attention with those eyes that say I don't know why I ran. My other cat doesn't bring me stuff, but she (also after a huge time of being afraid after being helped) lets me do everything to her haha. I can let her fly, she's on my shoulder while walking through the house and here favourite is when I am lying on the couch on my back, she's lying down on my breast and belly on her back. When I put my arm around her, I am stroking her belly which she enjoys to the very max haha. I am very blessed with tho of these wonderful animals that share so much love with me. It's amazing. I really would like the part of what happened with the vet going away, but it's been 4 years now so I don't think it will really. Although, small steps. I can lift her and walk with her around the room for a while now. Anyhow I love them to death and would risk my life to make them save.

With my cat, when I scratch one of her favourite parts (the corners of her mouth, under her chin, between the ears etc.) she falls to the floor with a complete look of ecstasy on her face. I think that's a sign too.

    Great video thanks!
My cat (actually I'm more like his human) does all these and more.
You left out licking you. Licking your hands, your fingers, your nose, your mouth, your feet.
You also left out jumping on your chest and sitting on you.
And of course there is curling up close and tight next to you in bed !!!
