Great video we have 3 tractors in the shop they were running fine, tuned them up, brought them back to the clients not even a day later they are complaining about 20 minutes then the engine shuts off, changed fuel lines now , going to check a few more things
I've been having exactly this problem. The troubleshooting ideas in this video were great, but didn't fix the problem. Then I cleared the blockage in the gas cap vent...
Save all of that grass along with any old parts. Just showing the customer the chunk of grass I found or any water in gas sample has been just the convincing factor (proof) I needed to satisfy the customer. Quite often that has meant the difference between pay or not pay.
I do not keep anything for customers, but I agree it is very easy to please a customer if you have the proof of what was done or what the issue is. That is great of you to cover for yourself and probably ends up with a happier customer in the end. Great job!
Pick up a few tips from your video however, I was waiting to see if the debris and the fuel line actually took took care of the issue, but the video ended before you proved it
I have this same mower and having somewhat the same issue. Going to do as you suggested as soon as weather permits. How did you flush and clean the tank? Did you have to remove it to do so?
So I replaced all the fuel line from the pickup to the pump, Also replaced the fuel filter and air filter. Still having the same issue. It runs fine for a few minutes then starts sputtering like it's going to die. And has black smoke. Don't know what I'm missing
@@thomasmayer5643 sounds like it is choking out. Check the oil level make sure the is not fuel mixed in with the oil. Check air filter make sure it has adequate flow and is not dirty. The choke may not be coming to the off position completely. Check the choke on the carburetor itself to make sure it goes all the way into the off position
Do you have a video on this mower that details how to replace and or rebuild the carburetor? I can't seem to find a video. All the videos I see are not for the vtwin
You can find one at www.rcpw.com/trillium-spc-7200-spark-checkr-engine-spark-tester-ignition-analyzer-for-small-engines-motorcycles-and-more/ Thanks for watching! You won't regret that purchase either.
So new problem, I tore the rubber piece to the plastic piece that goes in the tank. Mine was all clear by the way so still not sure why it runs rough after about 15-20 minutes. But do you know the part numbers for the rubber piece and plastic pieces. I have the books that came with my mower and it skips those.
I have never personally seen this but I am sure it is possible. If you have no fuel flow (or low) when it dies out you know it is a delivery problem. Check lines/filter/pickup/pump first and work toward the engine
have Ransome walk behind pull start. has great spark. changed fuel filter. cleaned carburator. pull start right up.. used that day for hour ran great, 2 days later ,, started right up,. ran for 20 minutes. just shut off. I empty out gas put fresh gas in,, check carb bowl getting fuel.. Checked and tested all connection with multimeter. all switches too has continuity,.. has strong spark. tested with spark plug tester strong spark.. even checked has cap for breathing all clear if debri.. will not start.. gas lines good no dry rot or cracks,,any advise,, Again tested safety switches all good Kawasaki 420v ACR
@@IndRepair but do you have a video showing how to remove and clean the tank? I'm a bit OCD about things and the thought of taking the whole frame off of my JD E130 is daunting and discouraging.
I really appreciate all the troubleshooting details that you talk about.
Thanks for watching! Glad to hep!
The restart after so much time could definitely throw your thoughts off. Great info on fuel problems.
Thanks!
I Love your videos 📹... I look forward to seeing 👀 them everyday!!! Thank you!!!!!

I appreciate that! Hard to find every issue every time on machinery that has hundreds of parts. Fuel blockage or vent in fuel tank cap likely culprits
Very informative good to know, thank you keep up the great work,God Bless you.
Thank you for watching!! May God bless you also
Very informative..any suggestions..on 2010 cub cadet 2185..to bypass all the safety switches
Thanks for watching! I would not recommend bypassing safety switches at all
my craftsman calls for a fuel screen filter, not a paper one. Those restrict fuel also. Excellent diagnosis. I took a couple of things away from it 🙂
Awesome! Thanks for watching!

Nice job!
great video!! Question? Where can I buy a spark checker like you have and what is it called?
It is called a Spark Check'r Engine Spark Tester and you can get them at rcpw.com they are SPC-7200 model number if you want to search around online
Or Harbor Tool has spark plug testers. I use a 12 volt test light sometimes.
I've had a few die out after 15 - 20 min. It turned out to be failure of the fuel solinoid. Snipped off the plunger.
Interesting, I don't see them heat up and cut out but something else to look out for, great tip thanks for mentioning it!

It was blocking the flow very common

We use compressed air and fuel then finish with carburetor cleaner and more air to dry it out completely. Thanks for watching!

You can find a nice metal fuel tank elbow and bushing at amzn.to/3IAbN40
The fuel lines are in good shape also? I would double check, many times they will collapse on themselves after a bit if soft...
Look at your fuel shut off bottom of carb. Gets soft sticks in jet.
Always blow/dust off your fuel canister before pouring for refill. Lots of cut blades build up on the cans and then fall into the tank.
Good tip! So many time I forget about this too! Thanks for watching!
So did that fix it or not?
It did, has been running great ever since
Had the same question. Will look at mine.
Hope yours is better now?
what about a head gasket causing fuel issues bc it messes with vacuum sometimes

Will it start on starting fluid?
😅 Now I really know what's meant by someone "not running on all cylinders".
Lol
Lololo that’s a great old saying my Dad used 😮😮😮
get a fuel line and a gas turn off own gas line save you a lot of money later
For sure! This one that would not have helped on but in the long run save major cash!

Fuel supply
Definitely
I don’t need a spark tester I just stick my tongue inside the plug boot and give it a crank
Perfect methos, if you are into that type of thing haha!
