Excellent review of the S1000R. It seams like a brilliant naked bike and I hope it sells well. I see that some of the technology from my HP4 has trickled down to this bike and that's groovy.

***** What? Why the tuono v4 should not be able to compete? In terms of pure performances around a track it's faster than both the s1000r and the 1290. In terms of street riding it's uncomfortable only if you're tall cause it's a compact bike like the rsv4. Only real tuono's fault is the absurd fuel comsuption, and relatively high price in comparison to the bmw. KTM it's equally expensive but all in all it's another kind of bike, i think you choose the ktm out of guts. If you're biased towards german products because you're german and want to penalise the italian bike, it's another matter.

From the moment I got wind of a naked version of the S1000RR coming in 2014, I held off on purchasing the Tuono. I am very curious to hear why you think the Aprilia can not compete against the BMW. They look very similar, and, on paper, both sound like monsters. And speaking of monster, what about the new Monster 1200S? These machines all appear to have the best in terms of electronic rider aids. A comparison of the S1000R, Tuono, Monster 1200S and the 1290 Super Duke R would be very interesting to see and read about. What do you think?

Well, let me ask you something, what do you think of the bike for low speed twisty road? Is race oriented like tuono v4 or it is usable on the road? (i'm not talking just about horsepower, i'm talking about confort, heating of the engine .and so on) It is very hard with suspension on "soft" selected or it became more like a "standard naked bike"? I had a tuono v4 but was too much for me on the road. I guess this could be the right choice. What do you think about it? Now i'm riding a hypermotard SP, totally different bike, i know..

How good does the wheelie control work? Does in help a lot. Are you able to go full throttle in first gear without the bike flipping over?
So you get one of the fastest production motorcycles and remove the windshield - sounds legit
& detune the engine, increase torque, change riding position and bars to name a few.
Dont think Id trade my RR for it, but I want to test ride one for sure.
