I agree with another poster below that said the food taste like Golden Corral, I totally agree with that. Nothing special but not bad. The things that has caused us never to go back is number one, the price is way to high for what you get, and number two when you order seconds they bring you back a very small portion one at a time, ( you want more chicken they bring you 2 pieces for a party of 4) we had a party of 4 and we all got one tablespoon of each side and one piece of chicken which was crazy for 4 grown adults, and it took them at least 25 minutes each time they brought anything back out and it made us feel very uncomfortable. So we basically ate a Kentucky Fried Chicken meal for well over 100 bucks ++. None of us have a desire to go back.
Dora Charles was a long time cook who designed the recipes of Paula Deen's restaurant.. She learned her skills from her mother and grandmother. She is no longer employed by Dean and now works as a teacher and a cookbook author. I haven’t been there but the total was $59 for two people all you can eat. The food looked decent and according to the posters it was good. I think $30 each for all you can eat is a good price in today’s world. You can easily spend $20 - $25 at McDonalds for one person now.
Totally agree. I don’t understand why so many people are commenting about their upset because you can’t take your leftover all you can eat home. That’s something that I thought was pretty widely known.
Absolutely! I had not been to McDonald's in at least ten years. Decided to go. Took a look at the prices and said, no way. Have a local budget place that is way better and cheaper plus I can get a cocktail. And bring one of my dogs and sit outside and enjoy a beautiful day. Everything has gone sky high. I have to shop carefully.
Overpriced and we knew that when we went but we decided to go anyway because it was “Paula Dean’s”. I was not only disappointed but I was angry. The food was standard restaurant food that you could get at a chain like Golden Corral. In fact Golden Corral has a better variety and to me their food is better. She is trading on her name and not giving people anything special.
I've been to this area many times. Beautiful at Christmas. Dollywood is the place to be at Christmas. Beats any place I've ever seen at Christmas. Breath taking.
Totally agree! I have visited on all four seasons and always a good time. I live in Southern California and my friends live in Asheville. I fly there, then do a mini road trip. My ex husband and I have a smallish Mororhome and we did a cross country trip (several times) and always have a great time. I have six dogs and only take the little one and my ex has a medium sized dog and we take them with us. I split the rest up as they are all very well trained and they stay and guard our respective homes. He is up in Morro Bay on the Central Coast and I am in Santa Clarita.
I read an article yesterday that they will be closing Dollywood , it said unsafe rides but i wonder if it is because of the food shortages. I had a cabin there but decided to sell it a couple of months ago. I love it in Tennessee but with the gas prices and the food shortages it seemed best to sell broke my heart but I live in Mississippi
@@beckyhoffman9423 Hey there! I've researched this morning, and can't find any information on closing. I read they closed on May 8th because of severe weather, which made the rides Unsafe, they said. They re-opened on the 9th. Dollywood is my favorite theme park, to me it's like another world. I pray that doesn't happen Where did you read that? IMy family went to Paula Dean's. None of us liked it. Staff was very friendly, however, my mashed potatoes had broccoli mixed in it. They apologized and said the broccoli must have fallen into mashed potatoes as they dished it up off the steam table. Steam table at those prices? We didn't feel the food was any better than Golden Corral.
I have eaten at that same Paula Deens restaurant at Pigeon Forge and thought the food was really good. I am a southern cook and my food is seasoned different, but that doesnt take away from the food I ate there. Like all cooking styles it is individual taste and does not necessarily mean the food isnt good.
Perhaps it has improved since we ate there about 4 years ago. We go to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge often but after the first try there was enough for us and we haven't given it another chance. Happy y'all had a good experience. Happy to have found your channel. Peaceful days to all

Hey it was $59 for all you can eat. Not bad since the portions were not gigantic and you could double up on all items. The place did remind me of Cracker Barrell with the gift store and all. Cracker Barrell is not all you can eat and the food is definately out of a can, the biscuits dry as a bone in the desert. The service is stiff and the staff like robots. I would try Paula's place. Looks better to me. Will give it a try. Thanks for the review!
I've been to Lady & Sons in Savannah several years ago and it was very good. I like my food hot on the table not warm so not sure I would like just warm food.
One opened in Destin, Florida a few years ago, I never ate there because it isn't a place for a single person. It closed in less than a year which really surprised me. Destin is a tourist town and has many good restaurants and all seem to do well.
From where I live it could be considered somewhat affordable. I love sushi and sashimi and that is always an expensive evening even without sake or a cocktail. And $60 for two plus tip is a nice vacation splurge.
Pretty much everyone I know who have been to both Pioneer Woman restaurant in Pawhuska AND several Paula Deen restaurants all say same. Ree’s store, and especially the excellent quality of the restaurant outshine Paula Deen’s in every way. Unfortunately, Deen operations seem to be about profit not quality Southern cooking. It is way too expensive for the poor quality. I guess as it’s in tourist areas they get enough business with one timers. If most are not repeat customers, it’s not a problem for them.
We had one in Tx but it was only open for 2 years . We went twice and it was ok, the chicken was awesome, but the meatloaf reminded me of school cafeteria food . Those biscuits are better than Red Lobster though . Our side dishes were ok , the okra was not cooked through . Of course the ambiance was nice and honestly the prices are not bad for all you can eat compared to Disney or other tourist places. We’re coming to TN in Oct and looking forward to trying new places . Y’all good very good details in this video ❤fromTX
I will be in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area in October, I can't wait! I will never set foot on another foot on a Disney property. Way overpriced. I shouldn't hemmorage cash for a simple trip. Luckily no grandchildren. Then I would have to.
Glad you had a good meal at Paula's. We have always had good experiences there overall. I see she is going to be at the Island this weekend. Great review!
Ate at Paulas in Nashville recently - the sides were ok, the ribs were too - the freakin' fried chicken was sooooo good!!!! I'm gonna go back for that alone!
The pot roast is great, the cream corn, Collards are good but why wouldn't you serve corn bread. It's a southern thing.Next time we go I'm trying the catfish, ribs, pork chops.I love Paula's!!!!!
Very fair and nice video! I love fried chicken and 'can cook' but most of the time, just don't want to go to all that trouble now the the kids are all grown and out the door, so unless it's a holiday when we want fried chicken, my husband and I enjoy someone else doing the work...so I appreciate these videos giving the scoop🙂
Hubby and I have been there several times (stood in line)….always stay at the Eliza Thompson Inn which is on Jones St. not far from Mrs Wilkes. We met her back in the 80’s. She signed our cookbook! Was a very sweet ol’ lady. Her daughter took it over. Not sure who runs it now but Mrs Wiles story was very interesting. Also always enjoy Paula Deen’s…always!
It's been open since 1943 and it has worked for them so far and the food is way better than Paula Deen's by a country mile. 1 Country Mile= a tank full of Gas.
This meal looked wonderful. I never understood the concept of the two entrees, etc. and you explained it where I could understand it. Everything looked so good and I would like to try it. I make her gooey butter all the time to give as gifts and treats and it is the best ever. Thanks for this review. Everything looked great. Those biscuits . . . .
I ate at her restaurant in Fairview, Texas and our party of 6 was not impressed at all. I guess others have felt the same because it closed several years ago. The peach tea was good and the store was nice though.
Took my parents there while on vacation but will not go back again. The chicken was good but the pork chops, turnip greens and black eyed peas were all spicy and not eatable. Our bill for 3 was over $90 dollars. I really don’t understand why restaurants have to make the food spicy.
Spicy? I can't imagine hot spices in those food items except black pepper. What do you mean by spicy? Like Thai food? Like Indian food? Like Mexican food?
We went to the restaurant in San Antonio many years ago. I was so disappointed. I really wanted it to be good as I love Paula. It was expensive and the service was poor. Needless to say it closed down not long after.
Your video showed up in my feed, so I watched. I really liked it. You both have a nice, easygoing style, so I subscribed and gave a thumbs up. I wish that restaurant was in my neck of the woods, the food looked delish, and that view!!!
Collards are not bitter if they are cooked long enough, this is a relatively new thing for me because growing up in Ohio my mother never cooked them. But I love them now. You should definitely try them if you have a chance. Just make sure you get them in a real southern place.
I live near Myrtle Beach, SC and they have a Paula Deen restaurant that I have yet to go to. After watching this, you have convinced me that I need to go check it out!!
I ate at the one in Myrtle Beach last year. I had fried chicken, catfish, Mac and cheese, green beans and collards. Everything was delicious. I was skeptical but the food was just amazing.
Biscuits looked wonderful oh my gosh, I would go there just for the biscuits. I’ve never been to her restaurant we live in Southern California. Maybe this should be put in my oh my gosh maybe I should put this on my bucket list. They do one day all the food looked wonderful thank you so much for sharing it with us. Yummy yummy for my tummy.
They opened up one a few years ago near me over at the rim shopping center in San Antonio and it didn’t last long at all. It was closed so quickly I didn’t even have time to go try the food, but I heard the food was mediocre and overpriced
I did and is not an easy occupation. And if one has a full liquor license it can get crazy. My brother still has it and they will most likely put it up for sale next year. They want to retire and move out of California since it is not favorable to retirees. It is very expensive to live here. They will travel around till they find something they love Right now Grant's Pass, Oregon is on the top of the list, but could change. I will take their dogs so it will be cheaper to travel, not always easy to get a good dog friendly hotel.
@jennifermountaingirl I'm glad. I eat locally, and it is bad more times than good. Their breakfast are always good, and Sunday's are good most of the time.
We live in San Antonio, Texas. Paula Dean put in her restaurant in the Bass Pro shop. It did not last very long! I think the quality of food was similar to golden corral, but at twice the price. We went one time and never went back. Buddy V is another national restaurant , that didn’t take off here in San Antonio. I think they both came in about the same time and went out of business about the same time.
We ate at Paula Deen’s a few years ago and it was a really bad experience. The food was typical canned or frozen cafeteria quality. One thing I distinctly remember was the macaroni and cheese was dried out to the point you absolutely couldn’t find a single bite that was palatable. When we asked the waitress to replace it her response was “I’ll be happy to but it is all like that”! The portions were small and the prices were outrageous. Even if someone told us that they had improved I wouldn’t risk wasting my money.
Yes , the Mac n cheese was dry, not cheesy and creamy like I thought it would be. The fried chicken was just ok, nothing fabulous. Think most are canned or frozen and warmed up. Not homemade 😕
I would love to go, but unless there is a children's portion menu, not being able to take anything home, not Worth the money for me. I can get 2 to 3 meals out of a typical regular ser ing. I ALWAYS have to take most of it with me.
I live in So Cal, so the chances of ever eating at a Paula Deen restaurant are slim to none. The reviews here in the comment section were generally dismal and from what I saw it seems to be a typical chain restaurant. Presentation of the food and ambiance of the restaurant itself left a lot to be desired. But If you enjoyed your meal that's all that matters. I just stumbled upon your channel and enjoyed your upbeat personalities and can imagine the fun you must have traveling around in your RV with the sweet pooches. ❤
Well thank you!! I just commented to someone that they should remember going in that it’s an all you can eat buffet- for around 29.95. Is it gourmet? No. Is it horrible? No. It is what you would expect..decent, and a fun experience in a tourist area… we do have a great time traveling and we love our fur babies!!❤️
@@jennifermountaingirl : It *DOES* sound like a fun lifestyle. You're right about the restaurant. Just not for me, but I can see how the "all you can eat" aspect appeals to some folks. Even in Vegas I stay away from buffets....I can never eat enough to justify the price. I cook at some so when going out I prefer 'special occasion' restaurants and just accept that it's going to be a bit of a splurge. Thank you for responding, Jennifer.. I didn't expect a personal reply from a vlog that was posted quite awhile ago. I'll be checking in regularly on your adventures. Whilst born & raised in CA I have roots in Ky. Best wishes on the success of your Channel, dear. 🚐
Love Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. My girlfriend and I love going to the Craftsman Fair at the Convention Center in Gatlinburg. We do a long weekend and stay at a local hotel or B and B. I prefer the October show over the June or July show, and we have done both. I find really great things and stock up on gifts for an entire year. UPS Store loves me when I come to town. I ship everything back as it is much cheaper than the airline and also cheaper than USPS. My girlfriend lives in Asheville and I fly out of LAX to Asheville and always have to change planes somewhere and I prefer going through Charlotte. Paula Deen's is probably one of the very few restaurants we have not tried. We eat and drink through the South when I visit. And have a blast! I am going back in October and can't wait! Have been saving all my money!
I went to the one in Branson & was so disappointed. We got the meatloaf & ribs. Meatloaf was dry & cold. Ribs were way to sweet. Sides were ok. Nothing special. Except the biscuits - those were amazing.
It’s funny how you can go to chain restaurants and have a great one and then a terrible one you would think they would have the same criteria to follow.
I went to the one in Myrtle Beach years ago and I wasn't impressed. Almost everything was cold, or luke warm. I believe had they been served hot they would have been more appetizing, but I expected something I didn't get. I was so excited to go to one of her restaurants and taste her cooking... I think my cooking is just as good, if not better. I know my mac and cheese is. My fried chicken is pretty bomb too. I don't know what I was expecting, but what we got was not it. I am glad you all enjoyed your meal. I did love going through the store. Your view was better than ours though... that would be cool to watch.
I have to agree with you. I like watching her make dishes, and I do all the time. I'm not bragging at all but I'm pretty well known here for my fried chicken, my coleslaw, homemade chicken and dumplings, and biscuits. In the past month I've cooked for 50 people. Yesterday was one of those days. I'm tired today, but everyone left happy and satisfied, with to go plates.lol I don't think it gets much better than fresh from home. Away from home though, I do enjoy other people's food very much. I want my food, hot and fresh.
I had the chicken pot pie once it was the worse. It was a bowl of chicken soup with a square piece of puff pastry on top that was so dried out I could even swallow it.
We live in Georgia. My daughter and I went to the Savanah restaurant several years ago. It was more buffet style but good and hot. Fantastic fried chicken.
@jennifermountaingirl We make meatloaf and of course eat it, but what I meant was, meat loaf seems to be a big deal in the US, but it's not here. You'd be blown away by the price of eating out in Australia. Having said that, hospitality workers are on $35-$40 per hour, not $3-$5 like the US. Your video's are interesting, thanks
Like any other place. Frozen and heated in the microwave as it was ordered. Chicken was still partly frozen in the middle when it arrived at our table. At those prices you expect fresh. We went, we saw, we ate and we learned another of life's lessons. Next time,Applebee's, Chilis, Golden Coral etc. Much better and much better priced for what you get. All hype.
Thankyou for the overall favorable review of Paula Deen's restaurant in Pigeon forge. I am not sure what these naysayers of Southern down home cooking have in mind when they visit her restaurant. Is it a Michelin 5 star restaurant? No of course not ! It is meant to fill your belly and make you satisfied! I have been to the Nashville and Pigeon Forge locations, and we have always had great experiences. Friied Chicken -excellent, Meatloaf wonderful, Catfish tasty and hot, Pork chops- well a bit salty. The sides to get are Collard Greens, Broccoli Cassarole, Cole Slaw, and the Sweet Potatoes! We want to try the Pot Roast the next time we go. And that gooey cake is a treat to take home! Thank you guys for your review.
On this visit, we had not been in a couple of years and we were wondering if it was going to be any good or not. I think a lot of times these things seem to be hit and miss depending on how busy they are and how their staffing is going. Unfortunately, that makes some of these less than dependable places to plan to eat.
On this visit, it had been several years before we had eaten here. We were wondering if it was going to be good or not. Unfortunately, I think a lot of that hinges on how busy it is here and how they’re staffing is doing. Sadly that makes these places less than dependable sometimes to eat at.
I am much older than you folks and my appetite has diminished. Food looks good. I have visited your area several times, last time was in 2001. The area where you live has changed drastically over the last 40 years.
Paula's recipe on youtube for gooey butter cake is very good. That one you had was very thin. I make one for my daughter for her birthday every year. The difference between most recipes and Paula.s is she puts melted butter in the filling also. I made her recipe this year and was one of the best I had made.
I agree that it’s over priced and I only tried it once, and that was because it was Paula Deen, and people saying that it was good. The food was only ok to me, I’ve had much better at other places. When I dine at a place that says “Southern Home Cooked Food or Soulfood” I expect it to be better or as good as I can cook myself. Paula Deen was not. The Mac and cheese in the video looked like just that macaroni with some cheese, I like a baked macaroni and cheese with eggs, cheese and milk along with some seasonings. It’s been years ago since I went to her restaurant in Savannah, but it was a one and done for me.
It sounds as if y'all really liked it but the comments here say a different story. My sister went to the restaurant in Savannah and wasn't happy. I'm a fan of Paula's and I have made many of her recipes and still do. I give her credit for being an entrepreneur, knowing her brand and capitalizing on it. As far as the quality, I can't say one way or the other, I've not been to her restaurants nor have i purchased any of her products. (Ok, and I'm not here to hate on Miss Paula, I did read her Air Fryer recipe book and truth be told, I found it to be seemingly thrown together and rather sloppy. I'm a subscriber to her youtube channel and, she doesn't practice what she claims in her aforementioned book. Mainly, she said, in the book that she has different oil misters with different flavors that she uses. In her shows, she uses propellant added cooking sprays like Pam. I've never seen her use a mister, just saying.) It seems as if, from what I can gather, she has restaurants, food, jewelry, furniture, kitchen appliances, cookbooks, and gifts/tchotchkes. There are no doubt sub categories and I'd wager she may have clothing? Please someone, update me on the full range of what's included in the Paula Deen empire.
Paula Deen’s air fryer was crap, burnt out after 4 mos and never answered emails to get refund. I wouldn’t give her another penny by eating at her restaurant.

Love you guys and your reviews. I was eating like that but doctor said my cholesterol is too high. Miss it.
Sorry to hear that….
The food from Paula Deen's Family Kitchen looked good. Thanks for a great video review.
Thank you for watching!!❤️
One opened in Destin, Florida a few years ago, I never ate there because it isn't a place for a single person. It closed in less than a year which really surprised me. Destin is a tourist town and has many good restaurants and all seem to do well.
That is weird!
An article I saw said the Branson one may not be far behind.
Expensive dinner for what you got
how do you mean not for a single person? just curious because I often eat out alone
High price and mediocre food. People don’t want to pay that! I’ve been to Savannah and will never go again.
This was a lot of fun , thank you
Thanks for watching!!😎❤️
We enjoyed this video and subscribed to your channel! Looks delicious!
Thank you!
he Fried Chicken is scrumptious along with the Mac and Cheese and Creamed Corn as well as Fried Okra. Chewy Cake is awesome!
So good!
I’ve been to the one at Opry Mills in Nashville. The food was excellent. Service was too. Prices were high, but we anticipated it. Special treat.
That’s great- I wasn’t aware there was one there!
From where I live it could be considered somewhat affordable. I love sushi and sashimi and that is always an expensive evening even without sake or a cocktail. And $60 for two plus tip is a nice vacation splurge.
I LOVED Paula Deen’s. I love Southern style cooking. I can still taste some of the offerings…❤️❤️❤️
❤️😊
Pretty much everyone I know who have been to both Pioneer Woman restaurant in Pawhuska AND several Paula Deen restaurants all say same. Ree’s store, and especially the excellent quality of the restaurant outshine Paula Deen’s in every way. Unfortunately, Deen operations seem to be about profit not quality Southern cooking. It is way too expensive for the poor quality. I guess as it’s in tourist areas they get enough business with one timers. If most are not repeat customers, it’s not a problem for them.
Where is the Pioneer Woman’s restaurant?
@@jennifermountaingirl Pawhuska Oklahoma, it's north of Tulsa
@@maggiehopkins9038I wouldn’t give the Drummonds a nickel of my money. Billionaires who own the town and half the state
@@warrenzevon8635 pioneer Woman conglomerate has done a great deal of good for the town.
Oh for us it is at least once on vacation and sometimes twice in 5 days.We love it We enjoy trying to decide which items we want.
Y’all good very good details in this video
❤fromTX
Thank you!!😊
I will be in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area in October, I can't wait!
Thanks! Been watching you guys, you’ve had some good ones!!
Ate at Paulas in Nashville recently - the sides were ok, the ribs were too - the freakin' fried chicken was sooooo good!!!! I'm gonna go back for that alone!
I thought the chicken was really good too!
go to Monells for good fried chicken! yum
The pot roast is great, the cream corn, Collards are good but why wouldn't you serve corn bread. It's a southern thing.Next time we go I'm trying the catfish, ribs, pork chops.I love Paula's!!!!!
Never eaten at her restaurants but have made her stuffing at thanksgiving and Christmas it is a killer for salt and carbs but is superb
You and me both!
It isn’t the best restaurant I’ve ever been to but the food is good and you get a lot of it. I’ve been multiple times
Many of us don't eat a lot !
For the light eaters all you can eat might not be worth it
If you ever go to Savannah,Ga, go to Mrs.Wilkes Dining Room. I went there as a kid and still remember it. They serve southern fixins.
Also always enjoy Paula Deen’s…always!
sounds like a nightmare! who wants to sit at a table with strangers like some old timey boarding house??
@@deborahvolz3591 line was a nightmare but well worth it.
It's been open since 1943 and it has worked for them so far and the food is way better than Paula Deen's by a country mile. 1 Country Mile= a tank full of Gas.
Yes,now that is some good souther. Cooking.Worth the wait!!
This meal looked wonderful. I never understood the concept of the two entrees, etc. and you explained it where I could understand it. Everything looked so good and I would like to try it. I make her gooey butter all the time to give as gifts and treats and it is the best ever. Thanks for this review. Everything looked great. Those biscuits . . . .
Thanks!! I’m glad we were helpful and thanks for watching!!❤️😊
I ate at her restaurant in Fairview, Texas and our party of 6 was not impressed at all. I guess others have felt the same because it closed several years ago. The peach tea was good and the store was nice though.
We liked the store, the food was comfort food.
We went there in October we absolutely loved it I have never ate fried chicken that was so good everything was amazing the biscuits and butter yum
Glad to hear you liked it!
Good job Rich & Jen!
Thanks!
Took my parents there while on vacation but will not go back again. The chicken was good but the pork chops, turnip greens and black eyed peas were all spicy and not eatable. Our bill for 3 was over $90 dollars. I really don’t understand why restaurants have to make the food spicy.
It’s probably just me but the side dishes were almost funny. About 3-4 T of food in each one.
Not edible at $90!
That's expensive
Spicy?
I can't imagine hot spices in those food items except black pepper.
What do you mean by spicy?
Like Thai food? Like Indian food? Like Mexican food?
If it was pepper it was a lot. I thought it being her restaurant it would be southern cooking but it was no good
We went to the restaurant in San Antonio many years ago. I was so disappointed. I really wanted it to be good as I love Paula. It was expensive and the service was poor. Needless to say it closed down not long after.
Paula Deens in Branson is great! We always eat there at least once and have never had a bad experience!
Glad to hear!! Ours wasn’t bad but I guess it’s a mixed bag on here!
One opened in Fairview Texas. We went once and it was terrible. The food was not good and very overpriced. It closed within 2 years.
I always wonder, must be bad management….
@@jennifermountaingirl It is the management that makes or breaks a restaurant. Have heard that many times before.
Your video showed up in my feed, so I watched. I really liked it. You both have a nice, easygoing style, so I subscribed and gave a thumbs up.
I wish that restaurant was in my neck of the woods, the food looked delish, and that view!!!
Thank you- we appreciate you watching!
I’ve never had collard greens but I tend to love most greens. Are they bitter? The cobbler sounded good to me. Yum
It’s not gourmet- but it’s good!
Been to that one a few times and it’s good.
I have been there a couple of times. It is good. The fried chicken is great!
Have you tried the Old Mill?
Yes! One of our favorites- we have reviewed it a few times!!
That's a great price actually. Looks like a nice meal in a nice restaurant.
We enjoyed it!
I enjoyed this very much!
Thank you!!
I ate at the one in Myrtle Beach last year. I had fried chicken, catfish, Mac and cheese, green beans and collards. Everything was delicious. I was skeptical but the food was just amazing.
That’s great! I’m happy to hear that!❤️
I wanted to go so bad last time at Myrtle, an hour and a half wait, but had a 1 yr old we couldn't do it. Hopefully this year
I live in Knoxville and always wanted to go and try it out but never have …yet…on my bucket list though!
You won’t be disappointed!!😋
Biscuits looked wonderful oh my gosh, I would go there just for the biscuits. I’ve never been to her restaurant we live in Southern California. Maybe this should be put in my oh my gosh maybe I should put this on my bucket list. They do one day all the food looked wonderful thank you so much for sharing it with us. Yummy yummy for my tummy.
Your welcome thank you for watching the channel
You will be disappointed. Leave it off the bucket list. Cracker Barrel is better.
IF YOU LIKE THE BUTTER CAKE LOOK UP A RECIPE FOR CHESS CAKE SAME THING AND CHEAPER THAN THAT MIX
Thanks!
Chess Cake is Amazing.
They opened up one a few years ago near me over at the rim shopping center in San Antonio and it didn’t last long at all. It was closed so quickly I didn’t even have time to go try the food, but I heard the food was mediocre and overpriced
That’s to bad..
I'm sure they appreciate feedback whether it's positive or negative, but always keep in mind could you run a restaurant?
I did and is not an easy occupation. And if one has a full liquor license it can get crazy. My brother still has it and they will most likely put it up for sale next year. They want to retire and move out of California since it is not favorable to retirees. It is very expensive to live here. They will travel around till they find something they love
Right now Grant's Pass, Oregon is on the top of the list, but could change. I will take their dogs so it will be cheaper to travel, not always easy to get a good dog friendly hotel.
Seems to me you could get the same meal at Cracker Barrel for half the price. Thanks for the video ..
And get 100 times better food at CB. I ate at the one in Gulf Shores AL. Price high, food terrible.
Cracker Barrell had goofood before the pandemic. Not so good anymore and usually comes out cold.
@patsyjohnson3963 We travel a lot and Cracker Barrel seems to be hot and fresh when we visit!
@jennifermountaingirl
I'm glad.
I won't be eating there. Everything looked dry except for the bread, I want that bread. I'll get the bread to go. Good video!
Right, none of it looked too good.
@Violet-fj8yd it wasn’t bad honestly!
I thought the meatloaf looked dry.
You can try. Don't think they do to go plates.
I totally get that- it is very expensive.
There are a ton of better options in the area, even though our wasn’t bad…
I wonder if the staff were all bad cooks. We've ate there twice and it was delicious both times ❤
Yes , the Mac n cheese was dry, not cheesy and creamy like I thought it would be. The fried chicken was just ok, nothing fabulous. Think most are canned or frozen and warmed up. Not homemade 😕
@@rosemariemello6675a lot of time baked Mac and cheese is that way- very dry and mushy. I’m a saucy creamy cheesey kind of Mac and cheese person
I would love to go, but unless there is a children's portion menu, not being able to take anything home, not Worth the money for me. I can get 2 to 3 meals out of a typical regular ser ing. I ALWAYS have to take most of it with me.
Maybe they would let you do a child’s portion?

DO NOT go unless you like southern style food.
We went, took our grandkids, and really enjoyed it!! I wish I had known they had breakfast.
That’s great!! I haven’t had the breakfast!!🍳
There was one in San Antonio, Texas but it closed. Nothing to brag about. Didn't go back!
It’s funny how you can go to chain restaurants and have a great one and then a terrible one you would think they would have the same criteria to follow.
We went to Paula's in Branson. It was terrible, tasteless and expensive. We did enjoy the gift shop, that made up for the family kitchen.
The ooey gooey butter cake is the St Louis staple called gooey butter cake found it here St Louis
Like most St Louis regional foods it was a mistake on delicious!
Keep on keepin on ❤️✌️🤓👍
odd that an eatery does not allow you to take home any leftovers; only the dessert.
It’s because it’s all you can eat…I guess they don’t want you to pile it up to take home??
Because it’s all you can eat
Same here , wonder why they have that rule.
@@liztrainer895because it's a all you can eat if it was just where you order a plate and had leftover you could take it
That's so you don't keep ordering just so you can take a bunch home.
What a neat video....glad you had a nice time !!!! I like Paula deen recipes... have a blessed Summer ☀️ 😅
Thank you!
We went to the Savanna one and we loved it!!

I'm tired today, but everyone left happy and satisfied, with to go plates.lol
I don't think it gets much better than fresh from home.
Away from home though, I do enjoy other people's food very much.
I want my food, hot and fresh.
@debbieriddle9429 wow!! 50 people is a lot! That’s quite the feat!❤️

I’d like to go to the one in Savannah..
Hello from Gatlinburg...I heard the meatloaf was amazing from a subscriber🌄🏞️🐻
We live in Georgia. My daughter and I went to the Savanah restaurant several years ago. It was more buffet style but good and hot. Fantastic fried chicken.
That fried chicken is good, thanks for watching our channel
Can you get orders to go?
I believe so!
Why couldn’t you take a “to-go” bag? Did I hear you correctly in the beginning of the video?
Yes, because it’s all you can eat they won’t let you take anything out with you other than your dessert. 😣
So they will rather throw it out than let you take it? Typical! 😮
I heard it’s because some people would purposely order another round of food that they would eat one bite of then take home the “leftovers”.
That's cheap.
In Australia you'd pay double that.
We don't know what the hell collard greens are though and meat loaf isn't a thing here
Well meatloaf is AMAZING!! 🤩 So If you ever get a chance try it!! Yes- it was super cheap for here too.
@jennifermountaingirl
We make meatloaf and of course eat it, but what I meant was, meat loaf seems to be a big deal in the US, but it's not here.
You'd be blown away by the price of eating out in Australia. Having said that, hospitality workers are on $35-$40 per hour, not $3-$5 like the US.
Your video's are interesting, thanks
Wow I need to wait tables in Australia
Like any other place. Frozen and heated in the microwave as it was ordered. Chicken was still partly frozen in the middle when it arrived at our table. At those prices you expect fresh. We went, we saw, we ate and we learned another of life's lessons. Next time,Applebee's, Chilis, Golden Coral etc. Much better and much better priced for what you get. All hype.
We’re sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the restaurant.
Looks great there. I always loved Paula Deen.
Me too, have a few of her cookbooks!
OMG Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Just some of the most beautiful country which rivals some European countrysides.
It is gorgeous!!❤️😎😊
It must taste better than it looks because only the chicken and biscuits look decent!
It did!
Sorry, don't know where those lines came from when I was commenting on the food. We loved it all.
That’s what we thought
You guys are really great..
Thanks, we appreciate you watching!
Our first meal there was excellent. We talked about it all year. The next meal was NOT good. We're afraid to try a third time.
Corporate takes over and dumbs down the food
I am much older than you folks and my appetite has diminished. Food looks good. I have visited your area several times, last time was in 2001. The area where you live has changed drastically over the last 40 years.
7:13 the waitress picked up a pen from the floor & put it on the table. No thanks. The food did look good though.
If that’s the worst thing I touched with germs on it that day I think I’m doing pretty good! 😂
We had them cater our son's wedding at Tybee Island... it was just average, I could have done better for way cheaper.
Experience it if you must but be ready to be totally disappointed and angry 😡
Who goes to a restaurant just to order over priced meatloaf, all the cool ppl. That's who!
😂😂😂🤪
Paula's recipe on youtube for gooey butter cake is very good. That one you had was very thin. I make one for my daughter for her birthday every year. The difference between most recipes and Paula.s is she puts melted butter in the filling also. I made her recipe this year and was one of the best I had made.
I bet it was way better homemade!
I've never seen her use a mister, just saying.)
It seems as if, from what I can gather, she has restaurants, food, jewelry, furniture, kitchen appliances, cookbooks, and gifts/tchotchkes. There are no doubt sub categories and I'd wager she may have clothing? Please someone, update me on the full range of what's included in the Paula Deen empire.
My meal tasted like a. Salt lick. Someone must have dropped the salt shaker in the food.😮
I don’t use much salt so I definitely noticed that.
Ate at Paula Dean's in Myrtle Beach and loved it.
That’s great!!
Paula Deen’s air fryer was crap, burnt out after 4 mos and never answered emails to get refund. I wouldn’t give her another penny by eating at her restaurant.
