Scotty, I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla CE 4 speed automatic too since new, now with 210,300 miles and my Family and I paid $7,736.24 in additional non regular repairs after 133,964 miles, during the last 53 months , 4 years 6 months, the equivalent to $145.97 a month during 76,349 miles, none of those repairs are major repairs like engine transmission or a/c, or rack and pinion or cooling system, but living in from of the beach, close to 16 years, 4 pro body shops estimated the repairs can be made 2 offered written warranty, using original Toyota parts , is around $9,500 including replacing the Toyota carpet and roof liner as well as part in the trunk with rust, the Toyota front windshield the power mirrors the front headlights even the hard cover of the instrument panel and the steering wheel, including the front grill, I will ask for the polished XRS version, basically, this Corolla could be restored. The trusted mechanics want to buy it because of what you show in this video, I have it since new and do the simple maintenance you mentioned by myself, is super reliable, days ago I filled the tank and measured 33.17 miles per gallon, the left axle was replaced for the 1st time 2 days ago, with the original Toyota left axle. ... but I could still hear my Father Rest in Peace Opinion, saying is not worth to pay $9,500 for a pro repair to a 16 years old car....But this is a Corolla that can run forever, and I will miss the simplicity of this trouble free 4 speed auto, no CVT, tha5 just required a part of a few dollars for its shift lever at 198,000 miles, I want to repair it, always uses synthetic oil, always original ATF T IV Toyota fluid, replaced by myself every 15,000 to 26,000 miles , Blackstone Labs has tested oil samples many times last time at 203,000 miles and found it excellent and I am following your advice of changing the oil every 3,000 to 3,400 miles with synthetic because is cheaper than repairs to a head gasket or a rebuild, but my Father will say, is still and old car, that everybody wants to buy it..... your video suggests your response, to keep it, I understand paying less for body repairs is a mistake, body shop work is more expensive thanks Scotty

No issues, ran like clockwork for the entire time my dad owned it. It's a shame he didn't keep it, but he bought another Toyota.

I bought a 2003 Corolla a couple years here in Ireland, had 86k miles on the clock, still have it three years later and hasn't caused me any issues aside from brakes and back box exhaust. Only cost me €500, and they've actually gone up in value here to around €1,500.

R.I.P. my 2006 Matrix with the 1zz engine. Working perfectly until a hit-and-run driver in a VW station wagon with stolen tags totaled it in 2017 with 68K miles on the clock. I would still be driving it today.

Fun fact: in the movie To Wong Foo that features Patrick Swayze John Leguizamo and Wesley Snipes as drag queens. In the deal ship scene they were present a Toyota Corolla for their cross country drive from NYC to LA for the reliability but they chose Cadillac for style.... lol

Switched to LED headlights, only drawback is they don't melt ice/snow but use less wattage. My one owner 2005 Corolla S @145k is just as clean and loaded with factory heated leather seats for the winter. Installed a Toyota of Canada engine heater and battery warmer. Canadian made. Rear engine mount to possibly fix vibration at idle. Hopefully.

I got a new Freightliner truck at the last company I worked for with LED headlights. The only problem is when driving in the snow in the dark they don't produce enough heat to keep the lenses melted off and you can't see unless you stop every 20 minutes and clean them off.

Most Reliable Car because this Corolla has :
Naturally Aspirated (No Direct Injection, no Turbo to wear out the seals over time), Timing *Chained* Engine,
that's easy to maintain by observing the available Oil and Transmission Dipsticks ,
Easily access to switch the Head and Tail Light bulbs (unlike certain Nissan Altimas that forces you to take the fender off!!),
An ol' skool more Durable regular Automatic Transmission made by Toyota( vs less durable CVTs),
Easy access to the air filter, and mostly , if not all, quality and reliable parts (minus the air bag recall on these models) with a great small engine that is more fuel efficient and insurance $$$ too.
